Does anyone know if the hotel offers decor for the reception? My wedding coordinator has been awesome so far but takes a while to respond to my emails. Any help would be great! thanks! they do offer centrepieces, table linens, some tool and floral arrangements, but you may want to figure out some stuff to take down there yourself as a lot of their stuff is not not the greatest looking colours ie forest green, peach and burgandy..(at least not the greatest for beach weddings, I think anyway) I am bringing down our centrepieces.. just simple ones which is a pain in the a$$ to take travel with but at least i like what im having. As for gifts, I am stumped myself other than I am ordering travel mugs for everyone and trying to figure gifts for our wedding party... so much freakin $$$! You must be very excited! I am starting to get nervous for mine, so I can't imagine how you feel right now... are you doing a symbolic or civil?
  2. Did you guys post pics of your dresses?? If yes, I will look for them, if no, description please! I can't say what mine is right now as the FI is sitting right beside me...

  4. Hey, Have you guys got your dresses yet? I go for my first fitting this sat. Am very nervous about it.. hopefully I will still love it and not look like a white marshmallow.. I will try to post pics too, haven't tried that yet.
  5. I think we are going to get married on the beach, but now I'm not so sure... I would like to wait and see once we get there.. I am now thinking why pay the extra $$ for a chuppah, when the gazebo is really nice (and free). We will be taking beach pics anyways so ...? NOt sure. I am going to decide on where our reception is too once we get there... we are only having about 35 people so we could have it anywhere, but I would like to have it on the ocean ... So indecisive right now..
  6. Exactly, I totally agree.. but I guess I can't chance losing our date..
  7. hey, let me know if the dress doesn't sell, I would like to get it..

They were so easy to do and I'm very happy they turned out so nice! ~ Erica Erica, where did you buy the rhinestones? Michaels, Party Packagers? They look awesome.
  9. Oh yeah, Nat, I forgot to ask when you sent your CC info, did you send it in colour or black and white.. I copied it in B&W and then realized they asked for it in colour, not sure if it really matters though.
  10. What's up my lovely ladies?? Must be another busy weekend... not too much action going on.. Nat, how's Florida?? DId you have any problems with your credit card after you sent the hotel your info?? I am going to do it today. I think I may have figured out my centrepieces too... Just 3 glass tealight holders on a mirror charger plate. I still need to figure out whether I will put flowers that match our colour scheme around it too.. Not too bad in pricing either...under $20/table...cheaper than the hotel, that's for sure.

That's what my WC told me, anyway. I agree that I would prefer to do the whole thing legally if people are coming to the ceremony, but with all the stress that would have to be dealt with only 3 months before the wedding, and the possibility of spending $1000, we are debating possibly just doing the legal thing here, then a symbolic ceremony there. No one has to know it's not legal. A legal ceremony also limits the time of your ceremony, since you can't just pick a time, the judge has to tell you when he is available. For some resorts they tend to come early, around 11 am and 12 pm, and others around 6 pm or 7 pm, and neither of these time periods is ideal for me! That's what we're going to do now.. I think. It's just too much of a hassle for me right now and a lot of translating/notarizing etc. My FI was married before too, so that adds even more paperwork.. not into that.. we won't be telling anyone but my parents that we are doing it ahead of time..(the day before we leave). I do feel kinda guilty about it, but the judge couldn't come until after 6 so it would be a symbolic anyway with a lot more cost.. $300 US just for the judge to sign papers.. crazy.
  12. hey, Has anyone put their deposit down to hold their wedding date? I need to, but am leery about giving out my credit card # through email... I was thinking of calling visa ahead of time and telling them $100 will be going on my card from DR and not to let anymore go on it from there... just nervous it may get used elsewhere down there as I have read that already..

  19. Toya, your deal is awesome... Are all your guests staying a full week? Hey, how long are you guys staying at the hotel for?? Is anyone staying extra days after everyone else leaves? We were thinking about it but we have already booked to come home with everyone else. Plus, for our real honeymoon, I want to go to Europe in the spring or summer..
  20. I don't remember being offered ANY of these options!! I just read this stuff to the FI and his first words were WTF! I need to go back and check our contract to see what else we get.. pretty sure we do get the free upgrades, but yippy, I would rather the free room...
  21. I don't think it's a big deal. It's flattering that people want to try it on and I think there are way more important things to worry about with weddings. I have never heard of that superstition...

I only have the new menus for the different packages I think.. I never inquired about the buffet menus because we are only having 34 people including us.. I will check though, nope, I looked. I will let you know if I come across it though. What's your guest count at?
