  1. ok a bit of googling and I found the bags I think -- are these them??
  2. please post pictures. they sound great but what I imagine in my head might be very different from what I get
  3. Paypal protects both the buyer and seller however if you are the seller it's a bit different -- you are NOT protected unless the package was sent with delivery conf + insurance. If the buyer makes a claim and says they never received the package then paypal will take the money and refund the buyer. .unless you have paid for delivery conf/insurance and have shipping proof (receipts). I'm not saying anyone here would pull any funny stuff and for small ticket items it may not be worth it but protect yourself on more expensive items, because there are no posting requirements to come in here and buy or sell ... anyone can come in and who knows.... you don't want to be out the item you sold + the money as well.. double whammy

This is not bad tasting at all though, I was dreading it after reading all the posts but it was actually good, a little chunky though! If you're having the shake for the night time snack, I would try to do only one scoop because 280 calories seems like a lot at night... if you're having it during the day I'd say go for the 2 scoops...

I did not have protein shake last night bc the store was out of the mix so I bought one this morning at shoprite the same as finzup but in choc. Has anyone tracked the calories they ate? I did and yesterday I only had around 1000 calories so I think I need to eat some higher calorie stuff plus my shake will push up I want to eat at least 1200 calories so my body does not think I am in starvation mode. I am tracking my calories too and on my first day I came in with too few. But I didn't eat enough for my snacks. I noticed that your snacks did not both include a protein + a fat.. So I would recommend eating a piece of chicken + cheese or chicken + nuts or something for each of the snacks. That will boost up your calories a bit. Plus the shake will add some calories too and you will probably be just about right..

I am only on day 2..lol I think once the 'core' phase starts it will be much easier. Congrats!!!
  9. OK I drank one of the shakes last night. I was prepared for the absolute worst (not being able to drink it) but I managed. I used about 9 oz of cold tap water and 1 scoop of the EAS Myoplex vanilla. I used a shaker cup and shook the sh*t out of it!! Then I just held my nose and chugged it and I managed to drink it all. I think I can manage to drink these.. The worst part though was after I finished, I still could taste the shake... I had to go brush my teeth right away! If anyone's interested, the kind I got was EAS Myoplex Vanilla powder from Sams Club and it was $28 and has 75 servings. 1 scoop has 120 calories, 2g fat, 3 carbs (1 sugar), 23 protein
  10. I don't think the 2010 menu for the dinners has been published yet -- maybe you could see if you could get an early copy?? Have a great trip!!!
  11. I just booked MTM for our July 15,2010 wedding.. a long way away but they have been really nice and their pictures are fantastic. I will def post a review
  12. I thought I needed to count the cheese as both a fat and a protein because somewhere on the pdf file it says if the protein is not considered "lean" then it should be counted as both the protein + the fat.. but maybe the cheese doesn't have enough protein (it has 5g) -- do you know how much protein we should be having at each meal/ snack? I think I'm going to grill up a bunch of chicken breasts tonight so that for the rest of the week I can eat that instead of deli chicken breast.. (tastes better).. and chicken breast and cheese sounds like a pretty good snack right about now..lol and yes I definitely should've brought some veggies to snack on during the day (celery or something)...... Thank you!!!!!
  13. I'm halfway through my first day. I'm starving I don't think I'm eating enough. here's what I had: breakfast 1 egg + 1 white scrambled + 2 lowfat turkey sausage links snack one lowfat colby jack cheese stick lunch 3.3 oz of sliced chicken breast in ice berg lettuce wraps with some cherry tomatoes and mayo snack 2 1/8 c walnuts 1 oz of sliced chicken breast And here I sit.. at work 4:40pm, dinner won't be until 6 and I'm famished What kind of portions are you all eating for snacks? I am making them smaller but am I supposed to be doing "meal sized" portions for the snacks? Thanks!
  14. Lisaloo -- maybe instead of the protein shake you could scramble up 3 egg whites and eat them instead?

I wish they gave sort of a standard for the protein powder, as far as calories, grams of protein, grams of sugar, etc.... Can't wait to get started with this when I get back! OK so after I posted that last post, I went out to Sams Club and bought some EAS Myoplex protein powder (vanilla) and it only has 1 sugar for 1 scoop.. so, you're right I probably can't substitute the chobani for the protein.. but I def will be enjoying it on the low gi/gl days! I will try it tomorrow night and let you know how it is, but I'm preparing for it to be chalky and gross. I hope that if I set my expectations very low that it might not be that bad..lol
  16. those could very well be the best rates but for May you maybe want to wait a bit to book? the prices will go down as time goes on.. HOWEVER -- it is your wedding and that's not something to gamble with so maybe it's just best to book now and maybe pay a bit more but have piece of mind..

As far as the protien shakes, I have some vanilla whey protein mix, I forget what brand it is, I bought it at walmart. Everyone says that they don't taste very good, I've never minded them, but it's probably because I mix it with milk or in the blender with fruit and stuff. but has anyone tried mixing the protein powder with water and ice in the blender? I'm wondering if it would just be really gross and hard to drink frozen or if it would make it a little bit tastier. I did some more research -- I think the chobani yogurt is best for the low gi/gl days because it does have 9 sugars per serving. So it's not good for the low carb days but at least it's not out of the picture entirely:) However, I was considering it for the night time snack in lieu of hte protein shake because I think most protein shakes have at least 9 sugars? So if there's a shake with 9 sugars or more, it would probably be okay to switch it out for the chobani... (I think)
  18. OK I just went to the grocery store and bought all my items for week 1 of the priming phase. Here are my anticipated meals for the week: breakfasts (I will just rotate through these, a different one each day) - egg white omelet with turkey sausage and reduced fat colby jack cheese - scrambled whole egg + 1 egg white with a piece of ham and a few slices of tomato - egg white omelet with ham and tomatoes - egg white omelet with reduced fat colby jack cheese and spinach - chicken breast meat with melted fresh mozzarella cheese and tomatoes Lunches - Lettuce wraps with sliced chicken breast, fresh mozzarella cheese, and cut up red peppers - Pork tenderloin, broccoli (left over from dinner) - Grilled chicken + veggies (left over from dinner) Dinners - Pork Tenderloin with roasted broccoli - Grilled boneless, skinless chicken thighs with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and zucchini - Steak tip kabobs with beef, mushrooms, onions, red peppers, and zucchini - Grilled chicken and vegetables - Grilled tuna or salmon and vegetables Snacks - walnuts - celery stuffed with cream cheese - reduced fat colby jack cheese sticks - sliced chicken breast deli meat Sound good? Any other suggestions? Thanks!!
  19. Hi Girls, I'm officially starting today (my cheat day...lol) I've already had a giant iced coffee with cream and a bagel with cream cheese. Tonight we are going to a french bistro restaurant where I probably will have a steak.. yum. I have a few questions -- Are there any brands of protein shakes that are better than others (taste-wise)? I know that I HATE that 'fake chocolate' taste so any recommendations for vanilla or strawberry kinds? - Milk -- is milk okay on the low carb days? I think skim milk does have some carbs in it. I would assume it's okay on the low gi/gl days... -- Snacks -- for low carb days, I will probably just eat a cheese stick or some almonds but what about on the low or high gi/gl days? Any reccomendations? -- yogurt - does anyone do the greek yogurt (fat free, plain, high protein) and if so what days do you eat it on? -- tea - i know it says to limit caffeine but is plain unsweetened green tea something that would be okay? Has anyone found a good website to get the GI numbers of foods? I tried the The Glycemic Index one but couldn't easily locate foods. I did find nutritiondata.com which shows the GL number and found that to be helpful.
  20. we're inviting everyone to the DW ( 85 ppl or so).. in reality we will have 30 or so people come .. my thoughts - if they are spending $1000+ pp to celebrate our wedding, we can certainly shell out the $66 pp for the reception.
  21. Most people sell for $1.00 per book. I'll pay $1.50 per book
  22. If any of the above transactions fell through and you have any spanish books, immodium, or bug wipes avail, please PM me! thanks!
