How should I approach this with my WC?? You can have rectangular tables but they all fit 10 people. I saw it on someone's post, I have been reading so many I can't think of who's now. Maybe you can have her put 3 together? Tina- I think we'll do that too since we'll get the digital images.
  2. No prob! If someone does end up getting them b/c of this post, let her know you saw it on the forum! I discovered her on ETSY when I first started using it. She doesn't do too many bridal bags, but I am sure she'd do something custom. I think i am a bit addicted to ETSY....
  3. Tina- On my first request, Lily said "yes, but because of the fame, he only does the upgraded packages". So I am not sure asking in advance will help from here on out, I think they (MP) got the message loud and clear that he's the best photographer there. I am just gonna spring for that and not get the chair covers. I wanted B&W photos too, but I am just going to have someone from my family take some.
  4. Hi All! I wanted to give a shout out to this designer, she does custom clutches and also does special pricing for sets of bridesmaid bags. Check out her site- Welcome to Beegeebags.com. I got this bag my sister and it was gorgeous. She also has a site on ETSY, brookegalardi on Etsy - BeeGee Bags
  5. Nibs- I can't sift through all of the posts lol, what are you putting in your bags?
  6. Ok that makes sense. I was like, all these people are in the water with their dress
  7. I think after all the $ we'll be spending, we'll have to do the free tours! We'll be there a while so we will prob do one or two. The ruins might be too hot. I think the isla mujeres one is good, you can either go to the palace there or pay to snorkel, rent a golf cart and there's a turtle farm close by as well.

I have become a Sephora addict too - I went and spent almost 500 dollars in one shot buying all my wedding make up. Oops. I had read somewhere that they will NOT use your own make up at the salon - that's why I bought my own. I don't remember where I read that though!!! I have very sensitive skin and I can't have anything with scents or certain ingredients in it or I get nasty blister things. Bad news bears. I would check into that before booking your make up appointment. I did book a hair appointment though. I will be doing a trial with my salon next week. For our OOT bags, we are just going to meet people as they arrive and give them to them to welcome them and stuff. We have a much smaller group though - like 25 people. Honey, I am doing a Trash the Dress. We booked Claudia Rodriguez for our TTD, which we are doing during our honeymoon at the Excellence, and we booked an outside photographer for the MP too. We are spending quite a bit on our TTD, but I think it will totally be worth it!! It's super exciting!! I can't believe how close we are! Maybe we should try to meet up and have a drink or two! I actually meant what if you spend a lot of $ on the dress?? We should totally meet up for drinks, the rooftop bar @ the grand looks really nice, as does the beach bar. We don't have guests coming till Wed and most Thursday so it's nice to have the alone time. We are switching to the Royal Cancun on 7/21 to get a different experience. We wanted to spend some time on the strip and I splurged for the swim up room- basically a semi private pool, 3 or 4 rooms share, can't remember. I always look at this webcam when it's raining here (and we've had a lot lately) or I am @ work getting anxious. The Royal in Cancun Webcam, The Royal Cancun Live Video | Real Resorts it calms me down and makes me happy :-)
  9. Oh and am I the only one who's never heard of trash the dress? What if you spend a lot of $ on it?
  10. I was told today to get David as the photog I have to upgrade to the 820.00 package...I have to decide if I want to do that. What are you doing Tina?
  11. They actually weren't going to allow us to choose the original pkg, we had to fight a little for it. I have been planning this since September, and I am soo ready to be there. I can't imagine brides who plan for 2 years, I would go nuts!
  12. my wedding is at 5pm. Cocktail party Thursday night is @ 7, and the rehearsal is @ 7 as well. Hopefully it's cool enough. I told people I would kill them if they canceled, haha JK. Everyone was on board and we never had any real threats of anyone canceling their trip, it's all really close fam and friends. I ended up booking the deluxe wedding pkg, they let me take the one they had posted before the changes. WTH was with that anyway? They didn't even warn anyone. And who wants fireworks during broad daylight? Even though I am not thrilled about the carriage, I hate being the center of attention, my MIL wanted me to get it and it beats walking or taking a golf cart i guess. Against my better judgment, we are also getting the Mariachi band- my fiance really wants it. I am sure it'll be fine, I just always dreamed of violins as a little girl.
  13. that's really cool! So, will you be there when I am there? We are heading down the 13th, arriving @ the airport around 11:30am
  14. haha I get emails for their "specials" all the time, they are too good to be true so I HAVE to buy them, right? I get deluxe samples every time i buy. Next time your order, go to Coupon codes and discounts for 30,000 online stores! RetailMeNot.com and search for a coupon code, they always work. They used to let you use more than one but I think they cracked down on that.
  15. I am sure they'd use whatever you brought, less cost for them :-) I am a sephora addict, though I don't wear makeup except for special occasions....it's weird, but I do have some great colors i might bring with me. OK i understand...well, I am going to just email everyone just in case we can't get the reception to hand out itineraries. I mean, what do they do for the huge conventions they have there? The people have to know where to go.
  16. My hair is naturally curly so it looks crazy when it's humid! I use a lot of HP when I do my own hair for weddings etc, but I wasn't sure what too much was in other pples opinion.
  17. Ok that makes me feel better. Do you remember who did your hair? I heard they like a LOT of hairspray and one person mentions they favor 80's style hair so I was a little scared. I have a bunch of lip glosses I like, I have no lips so I never wear lipstick lol
  18. Also, should I be nervous about the hair/makeup? I have heard many horror stories, some of them from the MP. I don't wear a lot of make-up typically and I know Exactly how I want my hair. Let me know what you will do/have experienced.
  19. Thanks Tina! I thought you couldn't send anything down there prior to your arrival? Or am I reading your post wrong. I don't know what you guys chose to do, but I am getting married here by a JP and then doing a symbolic ceremony because the whole sanitary issue with the blood test. I was just not thrilled about paying some random "Dr." in the hotel to stick me with a needle. Anyway, I don't judge, but, I do work in health care, and you should definitely read this post before getting it done, even if it's just to make sure they follow universal precautions. I am fairly certain they do it to collect $50 and nothing more. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19422
  20. Thanks, so it just cost the $395 or whatever it is for the sound system and the "tech" manned the ipod? Yeah, I am not sure if I want them adding any songs in...I am planning on developing a pretty extensive list lol!! Maybe I can just do that, but Ipods are pretty self sufficient. We will have a playlist for dinner, one for all the specific "dances" and then one for everyone to dance to. Also, for the reception, were all the linens provided and the chairs dressed up nicely like on their website? I am nervous about it looking "cheesy"
  21. Hi everyone! I can't believe I JUST found this forum. I am getting married @ the Moon Palace with 31 guests on July 18th (the same date as one of you i think?) We are all staying at the Grand Section. I have Lily as my wedding planner, she's been great so far. I decided a few weeks ago to have my welcome cocktail party, rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour (after ceremony) outside and have the reception indoors because there are a few older people coming who would be very uncomfortable. I was actually able to get all those event free because my party ended up booking 78 room nights. I do have a question about the sound system.....we are going to have a family member man the sound system with our own songs. I wanted to know if we needed to bring down a special cord or anything if we were going to hook up an ipod or laptop? Also, how are you handling your welcome bags that you are giving guests? Lily told me it's 2.50/bag for the bellboys to hand out. I am not sure I want to spend the extra money since I am hemorrhaging money as it is. I was thinking about giving them out @ the welcome cocktail party. Does anyone know if we can at least leave an itinerary for the guests at reception upon check in? Thanks for any/all info! I am getting really excited!!! ~Sandy
