  1. StephyD- I'm doing a similar thing that Tracy is doing, but my resort is not requiring any specific stay time. I chose Friday so that guests could take a 4 day weekend and not miss much work. Some are even just flying in on Thursday after work and flying out on Sunday. Whatever you chose to do, just keep in mind if you are going to have a welcome dinner let your guests know ahead of time so they can plan. I have a travel agent who has our agenda so that when guests call she makes the aware of the dinner and wedding times. I also have it on my wedding website. Good luck with planning! -Amber

  3. Thank you everyone for all your feedback! They are ordered and I'll have them by Wed! I'm so excited!!!!!!
  4. We are having a resort wedding. This was a picture from our cruise, and I actually bought the book on how to fold the towels. Anyone that comes and stays with us usually gets an elephant or dog on their bed. So I thought it would be a personal touch and give the idea of vacation.
  5. Did you ever get the feeling like you are going a little overboard with the fine details? I decided to have a Wedding Invitation Consultant assist me with my STD and invitation designs. I love what she has done for me and now I just want the perfect finishing touch so I have created started to create custom postage. Has anyone else done this? Is it too over the top Here's what I designed for my STD: I need opinions!!!
  6. Courtney- I agree with everyone's comments so far, it's completely up to you! I kept my STD simple with Date, Location, and wedding website. Most of my guests are internet savvy, but not all. But if they can get onto the website, the we have our travel agent listed. And I'm sure you'll talk to a lot of our guests in the next couple of months. Feel free to mention your agent and offer their information. One bit of advice that I have for you is to use your travel agent to the fullest! Ours will be emailing me with confirmation if each guest that has booked through her so that I know where my headcount is, ahead of sending out invitations and receiving RSVPs. I also have an RSVP part on my wedding website that guests can utilize as well. Now, our guests don't have to use our agent, but she's there for those that want to. And remember, no plan is flawless, but don't stress to much if someone slips in their reservation without you knowing. Once the formal invites go out, they should RSVP at that point.

Sending invitations is really following proper ettiquette. Should you? Yes. Do you have to? No. You really don't need to go all out and spend a ton of money on invitations, but guests do expect them. Even if you send out the "thank you for booking, can't wait to see you there" type of deal, it's still an invitation and a keepsake. Personally, designing my invitations was really the only way I was able to set the tone for my wedding. But it is completely up to you. Good luck!

I've got everything from a size 2 who has to have everything altered because she's so tiny @ 5'1, to a size 24- I just didn't feel right trying to dictate what I thought would look good on everyone in MY personal opinion. I wanted them to be comfortable and secure about how they look. I love the After Six collection! We have decided on the Fuscia color and I'm letting my BM's pic between the Apple and Tangerine accent color, whichever they like best with their dress of choice.

We just purchased a home in White Marsh/Middle River area last summer. And our wedding will be on 5/21/10. I was trying for a Saturday wedding, but every single one was booked! I guess we lucked out though, I completely forgot about Mother's Day and Memorial Day, and I didn't want to have our wedding during a "holiday" weekend. I'm so excited about the Grand! After looking at all the options (too many countless hours reading, and re-reading reviews) I know we picked the right one for us. I thought I saw that someone has actually booked the day after and another the day before that are on here, but I saw that on my first day on this forum and now I can't find where I saw the post I look forward to seeing what creative things we all come up with for our weddings!!!

  11. Krista- I had been researching the wicker fans for my ceremony and actually found these paper ones on theknot.com. I'm just now looking into the cost but if you are going to have a program printed, this may be a way to consoladate the costs. Good luck!

  13. Susan- Go down to your local beauty store and get some Solar Oil from Creative. This stuff is awesome!! You just apply it to your cuticles and rub it in. Within a couple weeks your nails will be growing in stronger and better in appearance. I use it when I decide I don't like having acrylic nails and take them all off and have destroyed nails. It has always worked well for me. Good luck!

I think it shocked a few people that we made the decision to have our wedding there. Everyone in my family has come around except for one, and they have expressed that they feel as if we did it in spite of them and don't care about family. You just can't please everyone, and we couldn't be happier with our decision!!
