Timberley! I am here in NYC too and I am so sorry to hear about your flight delay. Maybe the airlines can work something out for you since you are getting married. Keep trying, I know some people that have pushed their way through when the going gets tough in these weather/airline back ups! Oooh, I love that EXPRESS suit. We found a Calvin Klein Khaki color suit for FI and the GM are wearing same color khaki pants with white dress shirt...FI wanted to be the only male dressed up, even my father is just in khakis and white dress shirt!

Hey Ladies, So much energy on the site! Brooke, I love your vases, we still haven't even thought about ours, uugh, I will get to that. Timberley, I can only imagine how irritated you are, I would be livid! Allison, I could see the three photos, they are awesome! I think they turned out great! Sofiya (is your name Chris and I missed something?) I totally understand the family being away, all my family and best girlfriends are in California and I am in NY. My sister and best friend and mom talk all the time about wedding, but it isn't the same. I have FMIL to go to dress fittings, but I wish it was my girls...I totally understand, but I am happy to support you, if I lived closer I would've happily scheduled to go with you! Keep posting pics so we can all fawn over dresses I love the pics, I will for sure post next time I put mine on! I mention the energy, because I am feeling crazy lately. I am so overwhelmed with emotions. I am feeling like last minute tasks are huge, and I am starting to stress about 50 family and friends all at one place! It is to the point that I am not being super nice or talking much to the FI, but I know it isn't fair. I am upset with him because I kept asking him questions as far as flutes, cake cutters, sand vases, groomsmen attire, and wedding gifts for groomsmen and parents and never received feedback-so I let him figure it out on his own time. NOW, he wants to think about it, and he doesn't get it when it comes to ordering and shipping. I just feel frustrated and overwhelmed, and like you sofiya, wish I had my sis, mom or BF here to have a glass of wine with. (Which by the way, I have gone 24 of the last 26 days sans alcohol, quite a feat for a New Yorker , proud of myself, but now thinking I may need a glass of wine here or there as the wedding nears...uuughh, now I have a lump in my throat and want to cry. But, at work, and have to get back. Thanks for listening ladies! It does really help having this sounding board!!!!

Sofiya, I am so jealous, you will be there longer But I am so happy for you! Also, I would say, do it on the BD shoots, even if you do them when you get back? I don't know how to not sound corny when saying, but I think it is a great snapshot and way to appreciate our bodies, for time does change...I thought I might keep up with it every decade or so, even if for just one image to embrace my body and changes. My girlfriend just did pregnancy shots and they are beautiful! Just my two cents Robynzee-Congrats and hope you have a wonderful time! Our travel dates/resort: Arrive Barcelo Tropical Feb 14 and depart sadly on the 22nd. Wedding Feb 19...we too are trying to schedule a summer vacation/honeymoon to Scotland, Ireland and Germany to see family and friends (guess that's not completely a honeymoon either

Brooke-that dress made me crack up and think "guess she's not getting married in a church!" But it truly made me laugh so hard! Speaking of nightime dresses for the evenings there in mexico, I am not sure if you are all near Macy's or not, but they keep having sales that are unbelievable. I found two beautiful cocktail dresses $200-$300 marked down to $45 and $50...keeps seeing great deals in the store, this is the Macy's in herald square NYC, just a thought when looking for some fun swimwear or evening dresses for the discoteca's I am just so excited for everyone! This forum really lifts me up when I begin to feel a bit stressed!

WOW! I just spent time at work catching up and feel a bit bad about it, but it was needed! I had to share with you all that we "legalized" our marriage yesterday. I was having such mixed emotions about it, mostly because our parents do not know, nor will they. I really felt like that was our wedding and hope it doesn't take away from our mexico wedding. It was really exciting though. I didn't realize they do a little ceremony, I thought it was just signatures and announcement, when fi was repeating the vow sections he was all choked up and teary eyed, when it was my turn, I was calm cool and strong. We laughed afterward because it is usually reversed. We celebrated with our two friends, who are the only ones who know, besides our officiant. I am unbearably excited! I wish we were getting on the plane right now I have my OOT bags pretty much finished, I think the only things left are my BD shots next saturday, packing, and writing seating names on sand dollars, oh and the song lists and final selections (thanks for the suggestions btw). wooo hoooo! Ali, I wouldn't worry about the underwear thing, go and enjoy, there will be plenty of other time to bond, try not to let it get to you... Brooke-hot hot mama, those are great! I may steal a few poses Susie-Happy belated legal day, I am so jealous you are leaving so soon! Well, I have spend entirely too much time here at work I had better get going!

I came to this thread to get ideas for my BD photo session in two weeks, lots of wonderful pics ladies, you all did a stunning job! I am really excited for mine, not nervous yet...I am hoping to do mine somewhat 2-part, half softer subtle makeup and soft colors, half with darker smoky eye makeup with blacks and reds. Another very cute idea that I think I may be using is the black french lace bird cage veil/hat with lingerie...just a thought

We are still in debate if we are going to head to the discoteca with our friends and family, or make way to the honeymoon suite- Thanks for the shipping suggestions, you have all convinced me it is better to split it up in our luggage. Yes, congrats to quitting smoking! Such a great feat! Krista, your jewelery is beautiful! My beads for my jewelery and bridesmaids just came in today, and the designer is meeting for final information on Sunday and should have them ready by the 25th! So that is better. My dress is ready, at the seamstress now, finished, but she is meeting with me one more time in case I drop another 10 lbs before then. I see we are all on the last minute working out binge! When I talk to my seamstress about having to take it in, I laughed and told her I would stop losing weight now, but besides my dress, I have to look good in a swimsuit too. Not to mention the baby preparation. I see many of you are in the same boat as us...ready to try! OOT bags are still in the works, I have some items, but feel like it's not enough. Still debating. But I am planning on sending a box with them ahead of time so we don't have to travel with them. Is anyone else shipping stuff ahead of time? The main reason I was stressing yesterday is because I found out the contract between us and the photographer wasn't clear and it is costing us another $800/900!!! My FI convinced me it is okay (as he always does, I am the stressor and he always says it's gonna be fine), but it really bothered me. I am working with someone in the states that we are flying down and accommodating. While I know we are still getting a great deal, I am just concerned now with the conversations with the photographer yesterday that they are unhappy and our photographs won't be as great. I am hoping they don't hold a grudge and the relationship and photos turn out pleasant and positive. I am normally a little more business forward, but didn't approach them this way because I don't want something so important, ruined. A good friend told me today that I need to have my MOH or "strong" friend to deal with them while in Mexico, but it all just feels uncomfortable. At the same time, my boudoir photographer bailed, and I luckily had a plan B photographer for this, so hopefully that all goes well sofiya-Yes, I will be there when you get married We are doing a beach ceremony and reception dinner. We are a little nervous of chilly weather, but really want to do it on the sand. We are hoping the sand as a dance floor doesn't deter any of our guests from dancing! I've been working with Victoria, and we have received an initial paperwork for basic details and just received the menu choices. I am trying to get her to send the spa prices so my bridesmaids can decide on appointments. also, I hope your fitting goes great! Would love to see a pic! Truthfully, when I start writing about it all, it doesn't seem like that much left to do...just feels overwhelming when it comes down to the wire. Not to mention starting a new job in December that is keeping me 10 hour days! It looks like our civil ceremony is next Wednesday 1/27. It was cute, today FI said that we should go to dinner after and celebrate. He mentioned having a glass of champagne, and as I have been sans alcohol the month of January (dietary purpose) he said it would only be right I am also REALLY looking forward to pics! That's my FAVORITE part of this website! Thanks for listening gals, it has really helped!

Hello Ladies, I don't know why I hadn't started writing in these forums when I signed up last summer, but here I am now. I am getting married Feb 19, 2010 at the Barcelo Tropical and am beginning to get really stressed out. I think I may have chimed in a few months back, but am wanting to reach out and say "please tell me you are all feeling similar!" Sorry, just had a pit in my stomach most of today and needed to share. I am sure everything is going to be great, it just feels like it is down to the wire and I am fearing I may have left something out... uugh!

We are getting married there on February 19, 2010-the tropical beach. I have the 2010 prices, but hopefully you have that already I will be curious to hear about your experience and weather, as I am nervous that it will all turn out as planned...Let me know!

svetayasofiya, we are getting married back to back! Pretty cool! I am back to trying to find someone to travel or from the area. When I spoke to Victoria (our WC at Barcelo) she said that as long as they were a guest they could take pictures. After visiting and talking to them in July I don't think it will be a big deal. I am thinking about getting a photographer for the 18th and 19th. I am looking to do rehearsal pics, wedding day pics and TTD on the 20th early morning. so paying for 2 nights at the resort for 2 guests/photographers may just do it. Not to get your hopes up, as I don't have a photographer yet, but maybe we could share one? Let me know if it is an interest of yours, I will find out from photographers how they might be able to accomodate it? Even if you wanted wedding pics the 18th (we would just cut out our reception photos) and TTD the early morning of the 19th..it just might work. Keep me posted! And CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am glad to see this post, as I am now in the same boat. We were originally bringing a friend/photographer, but they are not able to do it, so we need to find a local vendor as I am not fully satisfied with the onsite photographers that Barcelo uses. My next question is, who do you recommend for Riviera maya photographers?

Very Cool!!! We will be there then as well! Do you know who your WC is yet? The beaches are really great. Also, there is a space between Caribe and colonial for the ceremoney that feels a little more secluded, feel free to ask any questions. But, when we went in July, the Caribe wasnt open, the guests were moved to Colonial/tropical, but you could still use their beach. We thought about booking that one in hopes they'd move us too

Also, does anyone know how to get your profile pic to show. I have one on my "user CP" page, but it doesn't show up when I post or anything?
