I just worry because our original plan was to stay at the Palace and let our guests decide btween Beach/Caribe, Colonial/Tropical and Palace due to $. But when I asked Victoria (WC we spoke to in July) she said that the 80% still applied and we couldn't do it there unless 80% of our guests were staying there. Because almost all of our guests are staying in the Tropical, we may just leave it the way it is. I appreciate all your help! On this note, if you are doing your wedding at the palace, they have this really cool rooftop deck for cocktail hours that looked very nice and chic!!! I would've loved to do my cocktail hour there Thanks again!

I was going to send a written out "contract" (so to say) to get our overall wedding in writing with pricing so there are little to no surprises. We are waiting to see how many we are taking before trying to negotiate some things. we are thinking it will be about 50-60 people. We may negotiate the upgrade on liquor for both the cocktail hour and reception? I am getting my pics on disc today to download...

IF they stay at a different resort that is NOT a Barcelo property, then yes, they have to pay for a day pass even to attend your wedding. Hope this helps!!! Cara sorry, my last response was in regards to this....still getting used to posting and such
  4. sorry, are you sure about this? We asked our WC when we went for a site visit in July and she said no...now I am worried we could do it in the palace?!?! Now we are scheduled for Colonial/Tropical... Thanks
  5. Hello All, We finally decided the Barcelo Tropical after visiting in the beginning of July. We visited several resorts and both liked the Barcelo's, hands down! I will try to get pics of the resort up... We are in the booking process, have sat with Victoria and looked through books and picked flowers, locations and pricing. We are getting sooo excited!!! I found this thread so funny because I too, taught high school for 5 years, so it appears teachers like Barcelo...or destination weddings in general

Thanks everyone, and the advice to do it where we want because that has been all the headache so far...but it's nice to hear and see all of you doing it too, very helpful!

So, I am still at the deciding a destination place...my head is spinning. Guests are from CA and NYC so trying to find beautiful and not difficult to get to, all inclusive, beach wedding. Thanks for all the photos, they really help in deciding where we might have it!
