In my case people knew whether or not they were coming after tax refund checks came out lol.:-) Asbarret- since your wedding is not until October then people probably won't start really looking at your website for information until at least this summer. Which this may work in your favor because you have time to put deadline dates on the website to implement. You will probably start getting more people interested with booking closer to May, June time. Hope this helps! I'm sorry I wish I had a better way to stay in touch with guest but this has been helpful for me.

I agree. I gave my guest a deadline of at least making their first deposit 2 months prior to the wedding date. Which is coming up on the 19th of April. With the deadline it really has caused my guest to start booking. That way that gives me a more accurate number to plan with. Asbarret- you might want to ask MrsBridetoBe. She is on the Moon Palace reception thread (new) and she was just quoted a price from Zuniga about lanterns. Janelley100- I agree with you. I think that the organizers of Moon Palace will have it all together when we get there. And I got my passport in about 2 weeks as well....

I found out that you can Fed Ex items to Mexico and they will keep items at the Fed Ex office. I didn't know that you could do this because UPS won't hold items, you have to have an address. I plan on sending my wedding favors, and a lot of other things in advance before I get there. However, I am going to ask the 2009 bride thread if anyone has tried this before before I do so......

Hello June Brides! We are winding down to our big DAY!! I have been pulling so much together lately. I swear the UPS/Fed Ex guys stops by at least twice a week lol. I ordered candles, favors, maracas, dresses, thank you umbrella, welcome bag stuff, knife kit (for cake), and soooo much more. YIKES!! I am just a little nervous about how I am going to get it all down there lol. The plane tickets are still really high. I can't believe it. I feel so bad because a friend of mine just paid $700.00 for a plane ticket. However, I was told that plane tickets should be going down in April for the spring so cross your fingers in luck. I still have about 15 people who RSVP'd but haven't booked their room or plane tickets yet. They still say they are coming... but these plane tickets may cause them not to.

Well my bridesmaids got their dresses from there. One of them had to send their dress back because they sent her an irregular size! GEEZ!!! And lets not talk about customer service. It really is a hit or miss. i ended up getting my hostess dresses from their online store, so I didn't have to worry about going into the store. Every time I go, it's always PACKED full of people and not enough help. I guess the positive side is that I can use the $20.00 off all other dresses because I bought a wedding dress from there...... Sorry ladies, I don't have a price quote for the Terraza Mar. We are doing this as a free event. As for the cocktail hour we are using the Lake Terrace. For those that are concerned with size, I heard this was a large one. As for a catalog, I agree. I wish Zuniga had a catalog of at least their inventory. I just looked at their website and started asking for prices for everything I might be interested in. Pretty much almost anything you want for your wedding Zuniga can pretty much provide. Lily from Zuniga has been awesome. Today I asked if they had a really nice cake stand (because I heard MP just uses the basic foil) she said "no" but she was willing to buy one so that I could rent it. I'm not sure yet how much she is going to rent it to me for....

Hello Military Wives! First of all thank you to all of our military men and woman for the service that they do. I too am a military wife. We got married a few months before he deployed (a little over a year ago) and have decided to have a destination wedding on his return with family and friends. What I found out is that if you have 6 people in a room that only counts as one room and how many nights they are staying is not counted 6 times. With this make sure they know to give you and your FI, 7 nights for free. That was in our contract with MP. The unlimited events means that you can have any private event you want without having to pay any additional surcharge for it (except for beach and rooftop terraces with no elevator access). For example, for a private wedding dinner it would normally cost $400.00/per table of 10. You are exempt from this. I told my wedding coordinator that I will qualify for the free events. So we scheduled to have a rehearsal luncheon (regular reservation), Welcome Dinner on one of the Terraces with food and drinks at no additional cost in addition to my wedding reception and cocktail hour. I even used the free dinner you get with the complimentary package for up to 35 as a reservation for a surprise birthday party for one of my cousins that turns 40 two days before the wedding. Let your WC know that you qualify for the free events. Hope this helps answer your question.

I too will be having the fire dancers for our welcome dinner and they are charging me $450.00/15 minutes, 3 dancers w/DJ. My WC recommended that we have the dinner with the performers at the Terraza Mar, a new terrace on the Grand side. I have attached pictures of Terraza Mar, since you can't find this terrace anywhere else. I wanted to have Salsa Dancers for the Reception but she told me it was going to cost almost $1400 for 45 minutes. GEESH!! So I said no thank you. I might ask if they can come in for 15 minutes and find out what that cost is. We are also working with Zuniga on flower arrangements, plates, chairs, dance floor and decorations. And PSAV for LED lights, Audio and DJ. Let me know if you need what I was priced for. Our reception will be in the Jupiter Ballroom on the sunrise side. In regards to transportation, I just looked at my sheet and I was quoted $150.00 on transportation as well and the taxes are 11%. My GOODNESS that is a little high! Terraza Mar-3.pdf

Also to the brides who are having your wedding in the summer. Have you noticed that plane tickets have jumped sky high. I have about 15 guest that haven't gotten their plane tickets yet. One of my guest purchased a ticket out of D.C. the other day for $700.00! I can't believe it. I heard the ticket prices were going down in April for the summer. Anyone heard of this? If so, I would like to tell guest to wait closer to our date of the wedding to buy a ticket.

Hello All: I had started to work with my wedding coordinator on flowers but the flowers she was sending me were not what I was looking for. I would suggest providing an idea of flowers that you are looking for through pictures as an example, so they can match up with what you want. After much decision I decided to go through PSAV for most of my flower arrangements (except the alter). I am so happy I did, because Lilly has been AWESOME. When I send an email, I get a response usually within the same day. Also, they have a lot of examples of flowers that they have done...and she keeps a running list of the flowers that I have chosen. I even think that some of her flowers are actually cheaper.

Hello Previous Moon Palace Brides! Thank you for helping me to make the decision of having my wedding here! I am soo excited! June can't come soon enough! Question: 1. I have about 80 guest coming and am looking to have a welcome dinner on the Art Terrace. Has anyone heard about this particular Terrace and if it will be big enough? I ordered the Moon Palace BBQ Buffet. Has anyone tried it? 2. Has anyone used buses for transportation? I was told they are $82.00 each. Which would mean I need two. My ceremony is at the Tuscan Gazebo but my Cocktail hour is at Lake Terrace...not sure of the distance in between? 3. Has anyone used one of the Ballrooms? My reception is in the Sunrise Ballroom. I can't seem to find pictures of it. 4. Most importantly is the MUSIC!! I am freaking out about this. I am using the Harpist for the ceremony.... are they any good? And the DJ!? Any good or bad experience from this? THANK YOU!!!! Ashley
