  1. Hi So glad you started this thread..Im having the same exact dilema. I tried on two complete opposite dresses, one is elegant yet sexy and very much the type of dress I anticipated wearing in Mexico, the other is more formal and gorgeous..and very much made me feel like a bride. When I walked out of the store I had decided that I was going to leave the deposit on the sexy dress, but I keep thinking about the other one...now that I've read this, Im really undecided..lol Anyway, your dress is gorgeous! Good luck with whatever you decide.

She is very busy but very attentive once you're here. I will try to answer your questions when I get back. I noticed the posts about La Amada...it is a few feet away from building 8 so its a very good alternative. I met Yamina's boss too and she is nice. Well I gotta go but wanted to say hi. I'll post pics and a very detailed review when I get back home. ~Mesita Congratulations! I am sooo happy for you!!!!!!!! Looking forward to your reviews. Its comforting to hear that it really does come together once your there. Have a safe trip back!

I noticed the similiarity in decor to Excellence Playa Mujeres right away, didn't you? Some things I already asked in case any of you are interested: 1. No, they will not waive the day pass fee for guests staying at La Amada. neother the special wedding day pass fee of $70 p person or the regular day pass fee of $100 p person. 2. La Amada offers babysitting services at the rate of $20 usd for one child, $30 USD per hour for 2 children, $40 USD for 3 children, etc, etc. 3. La Amada is only a short beach walk away from EPM - about 2-3 minutes, and only 1/2 mile away by road. 4. Yamina Bermudez is the wedding coordinator for La Amada in addition to her duties at Excellence Playa Muejres. Thanks for the info Jenn! I appreciate it. Funny you should mention the day pass, this was one of the questions I just presented to Yamina. I needed clarification on which fee applied on the wedding day for guests/vendors coming into the resort. Poor Yamina, I guess I can understand why she takes so long to return emails...
  4. Hey girlies, been doing some research and I found a hotel La Amada on the same beach as EPM. Looks like their neighbors...this may be a good alternative for some of your guests who have children or maybe want to save a little money. Its not all inclusive so Im not sure how much they would save..but some people like smaller numbers up front (even if they end up spending more later on)... Just thought it might be useful info.. heres their website Luxury Playa Mujeres & Cancun Hotels | La Amada Hotel, Playa Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico I also found this on expedia where you can map how close the resorts are: Playa Mujeres hotels in Cancun, Quintana Roo Trip Advisor has a lot of positive feedback as well. TTYL!
  5. Hi Ladies, I have a quick question for some of you with regards to guest accomodations. Are any of them staying at a different resort? Do any of you know of any resort/hotel close to EPM? I know its quite a ways from the busy sidie of Cancun, and ive read that our resort is like in the middle of nowhere...lol..so Im just looking for other resort options for those who might not have the resources for our resort, or have teenage children who still want to attend. Any info is appreciated!
  6. Welcome!!! AND CONGRATS!
  7. GOOD LUCK MESITA!!!!!!! its going to be beautiful! I sincerely am happy for you..sounds weird coming from online buddies..lol..but really, I am!
  8. Thanks Jennifer!!! I appreciate it. I was told the same by a girlfriend of mine, but I'm so unsure of waiting till we get there to purchase the tequila. I have specific one I am looking for "pomegrante tequila"..but I think Im just going to have to wing it when I get there... Lauren-- Thats exactly how I feel about it. Do you teach in Elizabeth? My girlfriends coworker is the parent of a student in Elizabeth who was diagnosed with it. Its everywhere....and from what I understand the U.S. more than doubles the cases in Mexico. Anyway hope you ladies are enjoying the weekend! TTYl!
  9. Thanks ladies!!! I think Im gonna follow my gut, and get the hat!!! "Petals" YOUR PICTURE WAS JUST THE PUSH I NEEDED!!!!
  10. i tried attaching the pics but not sure what happend??
  11. Hi everyone.. I wanted to get some feedback on the idea of my FI wearing a fedora type hat for the wedding. I LOVE him in hats and he will be wearing a guaybera (not sure about the pants yet)..anyway I think the Fedora will give it that sexy, latin vibe...BUT I don't want to risk looking "tacky".. Your thoughts??
  12. Hey Mesita, thank you so much for the response! I saw a picture of lumanire bags used to form an aisle...(instead of a runner) and I thought..ok if I dont have any decor for the gazebo, Im going to go with that because though its not "flashy" it will give it some color and be decorative enough..something simple but nice. I was already pricing them and trying to see if I can find colored ones..now I may not even have to if they include the stones and lanterns I can not believe they are going to charge that much for rosepetals!!!!! please let me know..that is completely insane! I cant wait to hear your feedback. I really hope that you have a picture perfect wedding..you deserve it!
  13. Jeesh as informative as you ladies have been you would think I wouldve thought of it! lol....I swear Im such a dumb a&& sometimes...lmao! Thank you for offering! Ok here goes... I plan on purchasing the gold package...I know some decor is included for the ceremony but I would need to know what in order to know what I have to prepare for. I planned on using the gazebo, so I dont know if I need a runner for the little foot path over the pool or not? If I change my mind and want to get married on the beach, do they provide an arch? This was a long shot question but I had to ask because it would kill me not to know..lol You know on the website it shows a young couple in the gazebo and its all decorated with lanterns, and stones..do you think they can provide that set up as part of the package? (like the extra decor they offer in the gold package) ***goodness now that Im reading this back Im thinking shes probably so irritated at the questions..shes just ignoring me..lol*** IF any of you ladies can help out with the answers I really would appreciate it. Oh one more..lol..I planned on purchasing a specific tequila as favors..I can order them online but they are pretty expensive (i want the large bottles) and I am figuring about 15-20 bottles...for those that might have done a site visit..will it be easy (and cheaper!) for me to just wait to purchase the tequila once I arrive and just prepare them at the resort with favor tags? or am I taking a risk by waiting? Thanks again!
  14. Hi I dont know if you've tried her already but I've been corresponding with Jessica from www.thestylishscribe.com..shes a part of this forum and is currently working on a few projects for me. it sounds like you and I have a few things in common..lol (not a DIY girl, can be technically challenged and also dont need a large number of either items). Shes extremely professional and just great to work with. I havent discussed the quantity yet as we are still "sorting" stuff out, but shes done a few projects for some of the members here and her work is beautiful! Anyway its worth a shot..good luck!
  15. Thanks Mesita..I'm really trying to be patient..but it really is hard. Especially since some of the questions I have just need to be clarified. I told FI to get me a calling card. though with my luck, I'll just keep getting the voicemail..lol On another note..I cant wait to hear about your wedding!
  16. Hi Just wanted to say Im really sorry to hear that your going through this now..however, it seems that you have the attitude that you need to get through it. Isnt it amazing when you feel the love and support from those you least expect it?!??! Anyway as KC said above..this too shall pass! Good Luck!
  17. When I was looking to book my resort (Excellence Playa Mujeres) the prices DOUBLED from 2009 to 2010. I almost fell off my chair. I wanted to be able to give everyone time to plan the trip..but there was no way i was going to pay that increase..so I booked it for December of this year..unfortuntely for me, I wont have many guests attending, but at the end of the day my and FI are the only ones that really need to be there Anyway good luck with whatever you decide.
  18. Hey ladies.. Has anyone had any luck on the phones with Yamina? I sent her one on May 29th and I still havent heard back I figured I would give her 2 weeks (but in my mind I just keep thinking--thats crazy! 2 weeks to respond to an email??) I might give it another week..we'll see.
