  1. I'm getting married on June 29, 2010 @ San Jose Del Cabo! Some of my would be guests go to school, so it was important that I pick a date that didn't conflict with school schedules. I hear it gets hot in Mexico during that time, but I hope it isn't that bad.
  2. Welcome! I'm considering San Jose Del Cabo too! I was originally looking at resorts in Cabo San Lucas, but I think I like the San Jose Del Cabo area more. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in the area. El Encanto Inn is gorgeous and I've heard good things about the Pueblo Bonito chain.
  3. I like the idea of a messy side bun with a flower stuck in it.
  4. You can find a variety of platform sandals online. You could also go barefoot or wear cool flats. I knew someone who got a cool henna partern instead of shoes and somehow glued rinestones to their feet.
  5. The U.S. Virgin Islands might be a good idea. You will still get that DW feel and your guests will not require a passport. Flights right now are pretty cheap too.
  6. This breaks my heart :-( Are you going to end up doing something small at home instead or are you going to postpone the wedding? Maybe look into places like Costa Rica, the US Virgin Islands and Jamaica.
  7. Great thread! I was thinking of doing something fun for the kids. Considering that my reception will probably be at night and outdoors, it would be fun to have sparklers and lighted favors. Wedding Favors-Wedding Sparklers | Marilyn's Keepsakes I also love these lighted windmills- LED Wand - Pinwheel Windmill: Extreme Glow - Wholesale glow sticks, body lights, glow necklaces, glow bracelets and glow products This would be a great way to keep the kids occupied. The adults might like them too :-)
  8. I am also having my wedding at an AI. This is how I see it- If your guest are going to pay to fly out there and also pay for rooms, then it's nice to choose a place that includes drinks and food. It's one less thing that they have to worry about, especially the alcohol which gets pretty expensive. As for being worried about your guest paying for the wedding costs. I have to pay a fee for the ceremony and reception dinner, but the dinner wasn't much. I figured that I would opt for a private reception dinner which cost more and either splurge on entertainment for the reception or provide an excursion for our guests. In the end, the wedding itself is still expensive. I don't think your guest will feel like you are taking advantage of them or anything. If anything, they will see it as a fun mini vacation. Just find ways to do little extras for your guest.

Best of luck, you'll love Cabo it's such a beautiful location for a wedding. :-) Thank you! I will be doing a beach ceremony around 6. Hopefully, the beach would be cleared out by then. I love your pictures! Was that the hotel's photographer? What about the flowers?
  10. I like 1 and 3, but not #2. Your shoe choice depends on the dress though. #1 might overpower or clash with your dress. #2 might not look right with a fancy dress. I also like these yellow flats/sandals Shoe of the Day: Matiko Buttercup Flat - Stylehive http://www.seventytwoshoeboutique.co...%20400x300.jpg j
  11. Hi, 1.Julie 2.estimated wedding date- May 29, 2010 3.wedding location-Cabo, Mexico I'm thinking of getting married at the RIU palace. I'm worried about the quality of the wedding if I have it at this resort. Please feel free to give me any feedback. Does anybody know how much it cost to have a private reception dinner there? I think the terrace is like $500 to rent, does that include food and drinks? What about other areas in the resort? Did anyone opt for the semi private dinner? How did that work out? Thanks! Julie
