meghan, i'm right there with you on the bachelor party and the wedding timeline (mine is basically - wedding at 4, hang around for pictures and leave for reception). my FSIL and FBIL are planning J's bachelor party and they didn't want to tell me what was going on at first. they even got kind of upset with me when i asked that it not be a weekend that J's daughter is with us. i know what they're doing now, but they didn't need to make it unnecessarily annoying for us! michele, the accident thing is super scary!! is your car totaled? i say, if you can, go get yourself a truck, pronto! 4-wheel-drive is a life-saver and makes you feel 100x safer when the weather is crappy! i feel SO SO SO bad for tonya.. had she bought a house recently too? my heart breaks for anyone who has to go through that process. as if making that decision isn't hard enough, you have to go and tell everyone about it too. i hope she's doing okay!

meghan that is amazing that your guest count turned out that way! it must have just been meant to be that way! and i agree, anything to cut down on what we're bringing down ourselves! we only have a few people from other places coming, so i'm shipping their bags. we got our to be beach bags and carry-on bags so we're handing ours out a bit earlier so they can prepare. i have to let some of the micro-managing go though... i just want to make sure that everyone brings most of the stuff we got them, because it will be so much better for them (ie: bubba kegs, towels, floats, etc.).

today is 3 months and i feel like it can't come fast enough... and we started the countdown at 14 months!! i'm right on the border of being stressed w/ too little time, and being annoyed that time isn't going fast enough! i made a booklet for our guests, but it's really more of a short novel. not many of them have travelled out of the country recently (if ever), and especially not to an all-inclusive resort. so to avoid any potential issues i am just going to micro-manage the crap out of them! my sections are: -before we leave (things to know and do to prepare) -dominican republic information (time zone, weather, etc.) -packing list & tips (ideas for what to bring and reminders that they won't need as many clothes as they think) -at the resort (tipping, what's included, etc.) -the wedding day (schedule of events) -beach bag goodies (these books are going in our OOT bags.. we're passing them out a month ahead of time, so i explained the usefulness of some of the items) -share your memories (photo share instructions for when they get back) i did it in powerpoint and it's about 18 slides right now! thank goodness i don't have to print too many!

kim - what a great find! that is an amazing price for a custom suit! tracy - you're so right.. once in a lifetime. might as well suck it up and go all out while we have such a great excuse, right?? meghan - i can't even imagine having that many weddings all at once. that's nuts!! it'll be a fun summer though! speaking of those lovely bach parties again... i just found out from my MOH that a girl that i invited has decided to invite someone else as well! here's the story, this girl is really good friends with one of J's sisters and is a good family friend of theirs and i know her pretty well. they have another friend who i've never talked to in real life (just on fb a coulple of times) but is a photographer, so i asked her to take pictures for us at our AHR. WELL, the first girl decided that her taking those pictures makes us best friends so she should be invited to my bach party. wtf my MOH asked me before she responded, but i said it was fine... my one rule was: if she's going to come, she has to bring her big, fancy camera!! i didn't have to deal with people inviting themselves and randoms to the wedding.. i guess this is the price i have to pay! at least i'll get some sweet pictures of the night out of the deal!

i would recommend either bringing them with you or handing them out beforehand like tam mentioned (this is what we're doing). it costs a lot of money to ship things down there, and i don't think i'd risk it not getting through customs fast enough, or the resort not knowing what to do with it when it got there.

heck yeah!! there is one other cinci bride that i have found on here... we've got to stick together!!

tam - i have to ask becaues it is my one, irrational fear... did the WC do okay with your ipod for the music before and after the ceremony? you had deyanira, right? i have music to play while guests sit down, then a groomsman is playing the guitar for the processional. then we have a very specific song to play after the ceremony. do you think she'll be able to handle this? of all the things, this is what i worry about...

you may want to add "maria teresa weil" as your friend on facebook. she is going to zoetry agua PC today and she is amazingly helpful! she's very familiar with all of the resorts and helps us dreams brides all the time with questions. if you add her as a friend you'll be able to see her pictures and she may also be able to get some questions answered from the resort as well!

tam i just saw your pictures on the dreams brides page and i thought they were fantastic! you may not have felt like you looked your best, but i thought you looked absolutely beautiful, and it looks like you had a great time anyway!! you know we'll all be hounding you with questions after you post your review!!

we'll be the most active month yet i love it!! i am also not a huge bar girl either. don't get me wrong, i loooove a good drink and i love having ridiculous nights, but just not combined. to me, the hangover is not nearly worth whatever fun was had the night before! like you said though meghan, hopefully our friends know us well enough to know what we'd like and what we won't! my one requirement was that we all go out to a nice dinner to start and then they can make it up from there!

oh and tracy.. this thread won't go anywhere after april is over.. we can all keep in touch! plus.. if people don't stick around for us late-april ladies, i'll be very sad!

oh man meghan.. my MOH is doing the same thing!! EVERYONE is going to have a sash. she is beyond excited about getting to plan this so i'm letting her run with her ideas! i went to my SIL's party back in the fall and it opened my eyes to how infectious bachelorette party craziness is! before i went i wasn't into all of the cheesy decorations and penis straws, but for some reason when i was there we all got into it! hopefully that's just what happens for everyone!

both my shower and bachelorette parties are getting planned right now and i can't figure out if i'm excited or not! i don't really enjoy being the center of attention and the thought of sitting in front of all these people and opening presents does not sound appealing at all! J's bachelor party is going to be amazing though. his BM rented out a hall and is having a band come play. the whole thing is going to be a roast... so everyone will have a chance to get up and tell embarassing stories about him! that's basically all he and his friends do when they get together anyway, so it'll be perfect for him! also.. has anyone noticed how many more posts we have than the may brides?? i think it's funny, we must be a chatty bunch!

misty - those shoes are AMAZING! are those for the ceremony? i wish i could wear heels, but our ceremony is on the beach and i think i'll sink! jennifer - one of my bridesmaids bought the VS convertible dress to wear for the wedding too! it takes some work to get the look you want (the pictures aren't very helpful), but they are extremely flattering for everyone i think! also, thanks to everyone who forwarded that welcome kit to the new dreams brides! work is consuming my life! tam, i can't wait to hear/see how everything went!!! also, baltobabe is at DPC right now and is posting pictures like crazy on facebook. i think she's putting them on the DPC page on fb, but she's also putting them on her profile, so you should add her (maria teresa weil) if you haven't already. she's also taking picture requests too if you have any!

meghan, that is a great idea for the aloe! i was having the hardest time finding travel size containers, so that sounds like the perfect solution!! melidell.. for some reason i think it says there's another page, but once another post gets made, the last one and the new one get bumped to it. i don't know if that makes sense, but i've noticed it too and i don't think you're missing any posts.

so many fun things going on! tomorrow's is tam's wedding day and jocy's leaving too! hopefully we'll get lots of reviews and pictures soon! i'll be interested to here how you get your dress down there, jocy! i've been thinking about that myself lately! brides do it all the time, so it can't be that difficult, right??

i did something scary last week guys... i decided to change my colors! the only thing it really affects are the flowers (meaning bouquets, bouts and centerpieces) but i am 100% okay with that! i was talking to my flower lady and i mentioned that if i could do it all over again i'd just go crazy with tropical colors instead of trying to fit everything into a defined color scheme. well, she said she was up for the challenge, so now that's what we're doing! i went from white and pink to pink, orange, green and yellow! the pink chair sashes and flower girl dresses will still go well and it'll make everything look less matchy-matchy too, which i'm very glad about! now we have to try to find all of these flowers again though.. here's hoping it won't be too hard! melidell.. 100 days left for us today!

eeee! i'm excited for you guys too!! so so close!! think of us fondly while you're there and try to take a deep breath and enjoy the experience! much easier said than done i know, but you want to remember how much fun you had and not how stressful it was!! speaking of stress.. i just found out that i'm stuck in west virginia until january 29th (no going home on weekends) so i'm focusing energy on little wedding things to get me through. already starting a packing list only because i need to think about something else right now!
