Hey girls- I am also a April 2010 Bride...April 23, 2010 at Excellence Resort Punta Cana. We wanted an adults only resort since there wouldnt be any kids that could go anyways. So far we have the date and resort booked, the photographer from photosovenirs booked and the STD's sent out a month ago. I am working with a TA from BDW but like most of you, no one has called her. My FI and I have a website: nicoleandaustin.wedquarters.com if you want to check it out. On the website is the TA's info but no one has booked yet. It is definately frustrated but in my mind, I think its still a little early. I went dress shopping last week and fell in love with Maggie Sottero Lavina Lavina - by Maggie Sottero. The picture doesnt do it justice but I felt gorgeous in it. Not beachy really like I thought I would like but first dress that I thought to myself "now i look like a bride". So glad I found this site. Nicole ps-My FI keeps saying the same thing "you are obsessed with that website" oops but he has his Mets blog and I have BDW lol

Went dress shopping with one of my girlfriends on friday and fell in love with a maggie dress-lavina. The price is awesome $930 and it made me feel absolutely beautiful. I still have time to shop around but I think I may just have found the one. Yay!

So ladies I havent been able to get ahold of Ana for 2 weeks now, I know she is busy so maybe you girls can help me. How are u guys telling your guests to book? Do most of you have a TA? Ana gave me a great quote I think about 140pp/night but I am not sure how to tell my guest to book with her? I think thats a good price for April 2010, what have you guys been quoted? Any info will help...sending my save the dates out this week and I know some guests are gonna wanna book right away. Also I havent been able to find any pictures of previous Excellence weddings on here but if you go to Trip advisor and type in Excellence Punta Cana weddings, a lot of reviews come up and some have great pictures. Almost all the reviews were given 5 out of 5 which makes me even more excited. Tamadana-not sure about the sand, I hear you on the white sand but for me personally, I am just excited to have any sand between my toes when I say "I do"...i cant wait.

I am so excited, Excellence looks amazing. From the website, it says there is a gazebo to get married at, do you know how manay people it accomodates? Is there a private place at dreams to get married? the gazebo looks nice but I am having 60-80 people and I dont think its big enough. I love the beach, but am just worried about too many people watching and taking away from "our day"...Also why did you choose Dreams over the other all inclusives? HELP

thanks Mctoasty! Its funny cuz I was actually looking at that resort. Foxytv's review a year ago made me want to go with this resort too. Her wedding was affordable and beautiful, she also loved the resort. I just need to stop reading all the tripadvisor reviews on that resort and every other one I am thinkin of, it is driving me crazy. My FI is a firm believer in "you cant please everyone" and thats helping me calm down. Girls- Glad to see we are all in the same boat. I have pretty much narrowed my wedding search to the domincan because my FI and I live in San francisco but are from the east coast, mostly boston and New york. So 80% of our guests are comin from the east coast and wanted to make this wedding both affordable and short flight for them. My Fi and I are used to flying to see them anyways, whats another 4 hours:) We have about 60-80 people who I think are coming and are having the hardest time deciding what resort. Here's what we want (ideally) -all inclusive (lots of foodies and drinkers comin) -pretty good night life -somewhat private ceremony area (gazebo or secluded area on beach) -about 1000-1500 per person with flight (most people will only stay about 4 nights) Any info will help? Excellence, Dreams Punta Cana, Paradissus PUnta cana and palma real all look great to me....HELP!

Great review, I am still trying to figure out where to have my destination wedding and Jamaica is looking more affordable and fun everyday. Where at Rui was your ceremony? I am concerned to have our wedding at a big resort because I dont want a lot of random people there. I feel like it will take away from the moment a little. Also we have a real party crowd going, would you recommend the resort for this kind of group? Any info helps

Is there a limit to how many people you can have inorder to use the gazebo for the ceremony? I always dreamed of getting married on the beach but I am not a fan of random people walking by and hooting and hollering. I am just worried that it will take away from the intimacy of it all. Anyone else concerned about this? For people who have gotten married here, how did you feel about the situation?

your pictures are absolutely beautiful...exactly how I envision my wedding day. Do you know if you can have the rockhouse for your wedding and reception but not stay there? The group I am having really want an all inclusive resort but I like the privacy and intimacy of having the wedding day at rockhouse. Any information you have will really help me out.
