  1. Hopefully more people don't sign up...on the bright side, let the planning begin. Perhaps you should keep your Mom on a need to know basis so that she doesn't change your plans or guilt you into anything else. She can't change what she doesn't know. Have fun planning, and keep your mind on the end result.
  2. I don't know...I'm torn. I think it's true that perhaps they have a good reason for not attending, and maybe you will be able to forgive them for that, BUT you can't forgive someone who doesn't apologize. A true friend would have had a long heart to heart with you, been super apologetic, and tried to be there for you through everything else that didn't involve financial responsibility. You would have been sad and bummed, but not mad. At least that's what I think. It hurts when people you think we're going to go, don't, but it's one thing when they call or come by and visit and tell you what's going on, it's another when they totally blow you off and think it's not a big deal. The true friends realize how important this is to you, and give it the attention it deserves. I agree with the other ladies and just tell her how you feel, lay it all out in person. Perhaps you will find a very valid reason behind her not attending, and you will feel better. Perhaps you will find out she wasn't the true friend you thought she was, and you can move on with your dream wedding. Either way, keep your head up, and enjoy the planning and your wedding. The most important person will be there, and at the end of the day, he's all that should matter. Good Luck, keep us posted.
  3. Ok good, being shocked was my first reaction too. It's still hard to grasp my mind around even thinking about charging my Sister for a favor, especially for her wedding. Too bad hair, makeup, and transportation are all paid for too! I should pay Suzanne Morel extra and have her look like a clown! haha. FH totally supported my disgust as he was completely floored and pissed by the whole thing too. Her reasoning for charging was because it took time. Favors usually do! I may have been able to get over the fact that she was asking for gas money, maybe, but the woman lives 15 minutes away! So that wasn't the case! I don't know, girl has issues, but I never expected this. She ended giving the money back but only because their parents found out about the whole situation and told her too. Grown A$$ woman still needs her parents to tell her right from wrong. Thank you Ladies for making me laugh, felt good!!
  4. I have to vent...so my fiance was briefly married before, he married before he went off to Japan (marines), they were planning to do a big wedding when he got back a year later. Well that never happened, she broke it off 4 months later, and they had the wedding annulled. So whatever, no big deal to me. However, in order for us to get married by the Church he had to have something signed by her. He asks his sister, who is also a bridesmaid, and was her friend back in the day, if she could do him the favor and get it signed. The Ex lives about 15 minutes away, again, no big deal, right? Why does the Beatch, charge him $75? He was on a time crunch and figured better to pay then to have to go see her and deal with it personally. She gets it signed and tells him I'll give you the form if you have my MONEY!! Who charges their brother for a favor like that?!?! According to her, they're close! We are paying for the entire wedding, her room, a dinner cruise, and brunch the next day! And she hasn't helped OR offered to help with the wedding at all!! Then my MOH, MY sister, organized my bachelorette party this past weekend, and she doesn't show up!! My sister tries to call her to find out if she's running late, and nothing! UGH I'm so mad!! It's been a few days, and I'm still pissed!! Sigh, on the bright side, I'll be in Cabo next week.
  5. Thank you, Thank you, for the review, I'm getting married at the Finisterra on June 13, 2009, there isn't a lot of reviews on the Finisterra so this was a relief to read. Everything looked beautiful and you looked gorgeous!
  6. Dang, I love your ideas!! I see yours and I think, Oh I should have done that instead! haha, everything looks amazing!
  7. I will email you some pictures right now...for now, I am staying in the new Palapa Beach Section. I'm actually a timeshare holder so the rooms come with a kitchen as well. You can find some good deals on those websites where people try to rent their week, and you can save on some money by making a few meals in your room. The Hotel also offers a discount rate in the new section for your wedding group, but those do not have kitchens. I decided to have the actual wedding on the beach, but I might change my mind to the garden area, I think I'll decide when I get there. I wrote on my itinerary to just listen for the Mariachi! haha, I hope that works. Both of the locations look really nice. The reception will be in their palapita events center. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is somewhat open, so it feels like you are outside but you have the AC. Hope that helps.
  8. Bali83, what kind of information were you looking for? I'm chose my own photographer, videographer, florist, DJ, officiant, mariachi, and stylist from cabo to go to the Finisterra. You can not bring in your own food, bev, or cake. I have pictures of the Hotel if you are interested, better than there own website. I love the location of the Hotel too, walking distance to the Marina and downtown! I've done most of my own research, primarily through the help of all the wonderful ladies on this site, and then just email the on-site coordinator with questions. Let me know what other questions you have, would love to help out if I can.
  9. So I know this thread is almost a year old, but if Beck's if you're still around and you still read these threads, just wanted to say "Thank You" for helping me out. I always come back to your post for inspiration, ideas, and help!! Thank you, thank you!!
  10. I'm getting our Parents a gift for the weddding, just because I thought it would be a nice way to say Thank You for everything they've done in raising me. For my Mom I bought her a silver vanity set like the one she used to have when I was little, and I'm going to get the tray engraved with something, (not sure what yet). For my Dad, I bought him a toy Model car of what he use to drive when I was little. He use to take me everywhere in it, I even cried when he sold the car. I'm going to get that engraved as well. Found it on ebay for $6 Neither of them were expensive, but it reminds me of my childhood, so I thought it would be nice. For my sister who is also my MOH I bought her a frame from Personalized Picture Frames - Manufacturer of the original "You Create" personalized picture frame., you can have it engraved with anything you want along thetop and sides, and I put all the sayings she use to tell me as a child. She's 6 years older, so her favorite response to me when I would ask how she would know something was, "because I Know Everything" This was also inexpensive, less than $30 for an 8x10. Certainly I don't think a gift is necessary, especially if you are paying for everything like we are, but if you would like to get them something, then you should. The dollar amount isn't important, a heartfelt letter would be just as appreciated, I'm sure.
  11. That's the first time I've seen the "I Do" idea on the shoes, super cute!! One more thing to add to my list. Congrats on everything, you've done an amazing job.
