  1. went to TKB during lunch today but was a little low on energy...definitely need to eat more than just a cereal bar and tea latte for breakfast if I'm going to keep up these lunch hour workouts. I just got my 2 jillian michaels DVDs today. Not sure what equipment I'll need yet but I plan to get everything and start using the dvds this week.
  2. Just got back from TKB! Will do some ab work when I get home.
  3. Took a Zumba class yesterday at lunch for the first time....awesome class! It's so much fun that you forget you're even exercising! Today, I plan on taking TKB. Also bought 2 Jillian Michaels DVDs after reading all about them on this thread: 30 Minute Shred and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. I should be getting them on Monday!

  5. I think I would feel just as concerned as you especially after sending off all that money! I emailed her with a few more questions last Saturday but I haven't heard from her yet myself. I get a little impatient too with this pace but, you're right--she has a lot of great reviews and it's hard to look away from that. What I can tell you is that I met with a wedding coordinator in PV a few weeks ago and she described Paulina as being nice but a bit of a hippie, which would explain her carefree demeanor. I also noticed that half of the vendors that I've contacted in PV seem to be the same way...slow to respond. It drives me a little nuts but I'm starting to think its the way of life down there. I hope she responds to you soon! Keep us posted...
  6. I didn't make it home early enough from work to workout so I'm a little disappointed but I plan to pick it right back up tomorrow at lunch with another TKB class. Will also try to squeeze in a some weights at the gym by my work before I head home.
  7. Hopefully you don't feel stress at all...seems like you're on a roll! Congrats on checking the photographer off the list. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll be in the same boat
  8. Hi - I've been reading this thread and I'm finding everyone's exercise logs very motivating. Thanks to whoever started this and to all of you who are continuing it. My wedding is in November and I really need to start losing weight and firming up. My goal is to lose about 15lbs/go down one dress size. So here's my first exercise entry: Took a 1 hour Turbo Kick Boxing class during lunch yesterday. Today, I plan to take a 15 minute Amp'd Abs class after work and then hit the treadmill for 20 mins and leg weights. I hope to increase my running time but I'm just starting out so I probably shouldn't overdo it.
  9. We're having a church ceremony and having the reception at Casa Aventura. I'm not so sure that we're going to have a videographer, although it would be nice...I'll have to see if I can squeeze it into the budget last minute. I mulled over our choices a bit and I think I'm going to go for 150 photos and maybe 8 hours of coverage, if Paulina will go for that since I probably won't have the video coverage.
  10. congrats & welcome to the forum! I'm a PV bride to but our wedding is this year, Nov 6th. I recently came back from PV for our scouting trip so let me know if you have any questions!

So funny...Paulina emailed me back soon after my last post here and answered all of my questions. I think going forward, I'll probably have my fiance translate everything before I send additional messages. Jill, do you know if she's flexible with the deposit payment times? I'm finding myself in a position where I need to book 3 major services within the same time period. I'm hoping she can accept a partial deposit this week and then the remainder of the deposit within a month from now so I can reserve my date and not be completely broke for the next few weeks. Also, you may have already mentioned this in previous posts, but what package did you decide to go with? How many photos and hours of coverage?

I'm looking into having Paulina as my photographer as well. I don't know what the price is for a 3 hour package is but on the list she gave me, a 2 hour package with 100 photos on CD is $620 and a 4 hour package is $1500 with 200 photos on CD. I love her work but after her initial email with the package prices, I sent her a list of questions and I haven't heard from her in almost a week. I followed up with another email a couple days ago but I've heard nothing yet. From what I'm hearing on this thread, she doesn't speak English so that may be slowing down the responses but has anyone else had the same experience? I really love her work and pretty much have my mind set on her but I'm worried that my date may get booked by the time I hear from her. My fiance speaks Spanish so I'm going to try having him resend the questions in Spanish--hopefully she responds. Does anyone have any tips on working with her/communicating with her? Does anyone have her phone number? It's not posted on her website. Thanks!
  14. Welcome to the forum, Alex! I'm getting married in PV in November too (Nov 6). I just went there a couple of weeks ago for a scouting trip so if you have any questions let me know!

Finally, I have something to show my guests so they know that my wedding is really happening and not just wishful thinking (yes...someone actually thought that...can you imagine?) The background photo was purchased through some website that catalogs lots of different images/photos that people submit. I don't remember what it's called since it was my sister that had the account with them but they had tons of different images by pro and amateur photographers. After that, we just purchased the script fonts for the text, added it to the photo, and uploaded to Vista Print. Now all I have to do is get my address labels cleaned up and printed and off they go!

I didn't know how to post them directly on here so here's the link: save the dates 004 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Pics would be awesome! Thanks, jo I had my STD designed by my sister (who luckily is a graphic designer and has an account with some company to purchase images) and uploaded to Vista Print--probably the least expensive printer out there. I'll post pictures tonight. I was going to do it at work but I forgot to stuff my camera in my purse on the way out this morning. I didn't realize there was an option to upgrade to linen but it works out for my STD since it's more of a photograph. The option sounds like a nice touch though.

Don't want to add anything that'll be discontinued in the next few months (I have that kind of luck). I'll probably take your advice though once I do go into the stores. I can see how it can get overwhelming! November 6th! Excellent choice Quote: Originally Posted by Jess Welcome Marie-Laine! 20. I think the dollar dance is a great tradition for a couple just starting out. Both my fiance and I have this in our culture (he's mexican and I'm filipino) and so we'll probably consider doing this for our wedding although I'm not quite sure yet because everyone is spending so much to come and see us. Still, both of our families expect it and want to make sure we are off to a good start so it would not be awkward at all. I'm not absolutely sure what the story behind it is in the filipino culture but, in my head, this tradition is meant to help the newlyweds start off on the right foot in their newly joined lives, and as a wish for prosperity from the guests. I think it's similar to the chinese weddings where tons of gold jewelry and money are given to the couple to help them as newly married couple. Of course, this tradition isn't meant for everyone but for those who like the idea, why not? I've participated in the dance in every wedding that I've gone to that had it...It's my way of sending them my well wishes. I mean, if I can help them start off on the right foot with a few dollars and a few moments of dancing, I think it's great!
  21. Hello--haven't posted on this thread for about a month because I didn't have much progress until now--so excited (even though I've only made a few baby steps). Here's what I have so far: 1. Going to PV on Thursday for a few days to meet with my WC, sign the contract for her services and put my deposit down for her and the villa for the reception. Will also take a tour of the villa and church in Nuevo Vallarta, and restaurant choices for the welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner. 2. booked the church with a 4pm ceremony time 3. booked a villa for myself and my family for our accommodations. 4. have vendors in mind for the caterer and photographer (actually my WC has a vendor in mind for the caterer--I'm just going to go with it since the person comes highly recommended). 5. went for my first dress hunt yesterday and, after trying on 12 dresses in 2 salons, I fell in love with a stunning Amsale dress! I think I'm going to have a dressmaker replicate it otherwise the dress would take up half my budget! 6. Magnet STDs are in hand and stuffed into shimmery, pale gold envelopes, and stamps purchased. Just need to clean up my address list so I can print out the labels and send the STDs out this week before I leave for PV on Thursday. I'll try to post a pic of my STDs sometime this week. 7. Wedding website is up. 8. Added a few things on to my wedding registry. Will add more closer to the date. 9. Groom/groomsmen outfits decided: khaki linen suits and crisp white linen guyabera shirts for the ceremony. Jackets will be removed for the reception. 9. Oh and I finally settled on November 6th as my wedding date...just having that settled on takes a huge load off my shoulders! That's about it as of today...more to come! Congratulations to all of you on the progress you've made so far with your weddings! Everyone seems to be making good time with their plans!
  22. Welcome to the forum and happy planning! This might seem obvious but the easiest way to start finding specific answers is to use the search tab at the top of the page. It'll filter exactly what you need if it exists in this forum.
