Do they have a sitting area or should we upgrade if we want this? I KNOOWWWW - we are all so close!! It's crazy!!! What do people still have left to do? I still have to get all my playlists together - that's a big stressor right now. Probably going to spend about a million dollars on iTunes. UGH. I sent a super long email to Claudia a few days ago, and as long as that all gets taken care of, our stuff on the MP end should mostly be taken care of. Cutierosie posted her awesome planning document in her review, and I copied it! It has helped me get so organized! Thanks Rosa soooo much! Tina, I feel like the rooms don't really have a sitting area. I was wondering this too, because I feel like I'm going to have a lot of people in my room when I'm getting ready. Matt will have to get ready somewhere else! LOL. Cancun, you probably can't open some things because you don't have enough points because you haven't posted a lot. Post in a few different threads - up in the General Wedding Info section you could post your wedding dress or something - and you'll get enough points to open stuff soon!!

Has anyone had Angelica as a WC?? Haven't had a email response from her in a week and a half and wondering should I reach out to a manager or will my wedding me sabotaged if I do?? Ahhhhh breath! Namistay Hey Namistay! Welcome to the forum! YAY! You're getting married one week after me!!! You must be getting really excited!! Don't worry, you posted right! How many times have you emailed Angelica in the past week and a half? I would try emailing her again....or, you could always call! I've done that before too. And I wouldn't think you're wedding would be sabotaged if you ended up contacting a manager - I had to because my WC didn't respond to me for 3 MONTHS. I'm working with a different WC now, which is much better, and I don't think anything is getting sabotaged!

I was just going to have my flower girls drop them, and the photographer should be able to get some good pictures before the blow away!

I was also quoted in the same package with the addition of PassPort that children 12 and under -free and 13 and older- $54.00 per night. It also included the transportation to and from airport, 4-5 tours, as well as 25% off golf, spa etc. There were many Buy one/get one free adventures. Is that the same too? I was planning to go directly through the airlines for group rates and planning to add Travel Insurance for all parties on cancellations. I also have the number of rooms or total nights for the bonuses of private parties in the contract. I haven't sign it yet but I am wondering what the difference is between the TA and directly with the hotel. I thought it was better to go directly with the hotel with the contract. The only deposit that is needed is the bride and groom's room payment upfront. Then all other parties can reserve up to 45 days before event. There is a link that they will give you so that it can be posted on the wedding website for individuals to reserve their own rooms at one night's deposit. Our party is planning to stay 3-5 nights. Hey Ashnic, you may want to PM this to Tammy, in case she doesn't come over to the the MP forum very often. BUT...I used Tammy Host as my TA, and she was able to include in my contract all the anemities that the hotel was offering. So, I'm getting free stuff per the number of nights/rooms I book, the palace passport, etc etc. I think it's been great to work with a TA - first, I didn't have to negogiate the contract myself, second, she got me a better rate than the hotel was offering me, by a fair amount...and, the TA takes care of all problems and reminding people to pay their deposits, etc. She can also book the flights for me, which is really nice. She also arranges all transfers to and from the airport, and even got these included in our room price! It's really up to you which way you go, but I will say my experience with Tammy has been great!!!!

olsontco, sale is pending on the spanish for dummies - I'll let you know if it falls through! Jacilynda - I know, it is such a gorgeous dress. I felt pretty sad putting it up for sale last night, but it deserves to get used!! I just decided I didn't want a heavier ball gown for my DW - but maybe someone else does! I'll let you know if anyone requests pictures, that's so nice of you! I don't have many good pictures of it, and it's such a pretty dress!!!

And, my dear, much searched for pair of Guiseppe Zanotti's. I fell in love with these shoes on the internet, and when they arrived...alas, they were so high, I couldn't walk in them. Because I am wimp! They fit a size 7. Model number E86101. They are still in their perfect individual plastic baggies and all, and comes with a pretty Guiseppe Zanotti shoe bag. Paid $250, asking $175 plus shipping. And another dress...this was meant to be my ceremony dress before I decided on a DW. It is a gorgeous dress, but I felt it was too heavy for me. It is a David's Bridal, CT2406, with a chapel train. It is all over beaded lace, and the lace edging goes all around, which is gorgeous!! I paid 700 for this dress, asking 500 plus shipping, or make an offer! Aaaannnnd...I'm done! PM me if you're interested in anything!!

Hey Ladies! Well, since I've been so blessed to pick up a few things on the cheap from you all, I thought I'd offer out a few of the things I bought and aren't going to use! I really overspent...LOL...I'm sure I'll have more after the wedding!!! Please PM me if you're interested! First, a TTD dress. I got this dress off ebay. It needs to be dry cleaned and has some minor staining on it. I had a little trouble taking pictures of it, it doesn't show up with the flash on my crappy camera. It's pretty though! The dress is ivory and is a size 2. It's a David's Bridal Michaelangelo, but I'm pretty sure it's discontinued. It has a one point bustle already! I am asking $30.00 plus shipping. And an example of one of the stains...I think they will come out with a dry clean...but I can't be sure! Next on the chopping block...one crinoline slip, from David's Bridal. Its a size 2. Asking 40.00 plus shipping Next up, 25 copies of Spanish Phrases for Dummies. 20.00 for the lot plus shipping. And a David's Bridal headpiece. Style 4596-0155. Sorry the pictures are bad. Again, crappy camera. Or maybe I'm just bad with the camera. Paid $99, asking 70 plus shipping. Continued next....

Not sure if this basket is all of the petals or if they just filled the basket with what would fit. The basket was about 4 inches deep and about 8x8 as well. Thanks Camie!! I think I'm going to go with bringing my own freeze dried petals - it sounds like they are not a problem to get through customs, and they are a lot cheaper!

Hey Liz, I felt really uncomfortable registering, but people kept asking me and asking me where I was registered, so finally I just did. We registered at Crate and Barrel, and Macys, as well as a honeymoon registry. We've gotten a few gifts - not too many. I'm not really sure what to expect when the wedding is closer. It's just awkward. But, people will expect you to register, especially those that aren't going to the wedding!!!

I also cant see traveling with them. A question to brides who have had showers. Did any of the guests feel like you were asking too much. I am hesitant to have a shower though we could really use some housewear things badly. I was going to ask about votive candles...I'll let you know! I didn't want to have a shower because I felt like it was asking too much, but Matt's family threw me one....LOL...I didn't have a choice! I think people really liked it, and it gave people who weren't coming to MP a chance to do something nice.

Tina, those pictures are FRICKIN AWESOME. That looks like SOO much fun!!! You look so happy!! I am doing a private dinner. We'll do two hours of dinner, then two hours of dancing. We probably won't do any decorations, but I was thinking of asking about the costs of votive candles and maybe doing some colored linens. Hey, if I'm going to blow my budget.... I know that the rose petals are 40 dollars a bag - does anyone know how big the bag is? Has anyone traveled with freeze dried rose petals? Are they a problem at customs??

It can't be any hotter than that!! Ehh...I probably will not do any decorations. I've already spent enough money - that's kind of my deciding factor. LOL. All this is adding up to more than I anticipated - probably because of all the cool things I found on the forum!!! I'm hoping to get two wedding dresses sold though and a bunch of stuff, so maybe I will recoup a little. I kinda feel that way too - like unless it's raining, we'll be outside. It's barely been hot up here in Wisconsin at all though, so people won't be used to it, but we'll be in Mexico and we need to take advantage!!! I just really want to make sure we have the reception ocean front - not in a terrace next to a pool - boo to that!!

I keep meaning to schedule a hair trial at the salon here, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I guess if the thing I'm most stressed about is my hair, I must be in good shape! I also have had nightmares about Matt getting really drunk at the reception though and making an utter fool of himself!! That better not happen! LOLOL.

Hey Tina! Thanks for looking for me!! What document are you looking in? Do you mind sending it to me?? I've been thinking about starting to pack as well. My goal this weekend was to go through everything and put all my extras up for sale and my two extra wedding dresses....but shampooing all the carpets took priority. UGH. THAT was fun. Liz and Tina - we decided to do the same thing with ours - our wedding is at one, then we will have a cocktail reception from 2 to 3, then the dinner starts at 6pm. We will also probably do a meet up at a bar. I can't believe how close we all are. It seems so long ago that I found the forum!! PS: I'm beginning to have nightly nightmares about the wedding - I think I need to chill out!!!! Oddly enough, most of them have been about my hair!

Rachel, no worries! I know your wedding will still be gorgeous no matter what! I've just decided to pretend the swine flu doesn't exist. Did you all see the WHO raise the swine flu to pandemic level today? Don't they know some of us have weddings!?!? LOL. Camie and Tina - thanks for the input about receptions. I do really want to have it outdoors, and I hope that the weather will cooperate! I feel like if we have it inside, the space will be too big and too bare and it will be awkward. The group we have coming are not really dancers or partiers, so it would be weird if there isn't something there to keep the mood light - like a gorgeous ocean backdrop!!

Bircage Veil
nibsmom replied to Dbld78's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm wearing a birdcage veil - I got mine from birdcageveils.com. The woman was super nice and really fast to put the order through! I'm really excited!!!! -
OMG! Tina I can't believe you are leaving sooo soon! Saturday will be T minus 1 month for me!! I'm freaking out a little bit! I was talking with my WC about our reception - she thinks we should do it indoors because of the temperature, but we're also reserving an outdoor space. I was hoping we could do it outdoors because then we wouldn't need to bring/buy decorations...sigh. What are you going to do if you have to move indoors??

I never knew about etsy either before I found this forum! I'm so glad I did!!! I got my garter off etsy - a police pouf one, since FI is a police officer! Seller was GartersbyKristi... I also got a custom cake topper which is just adorable!!! Seller's name is mudcards... And this custom ring bowl - I saw it on the forum somewhere else and I loved it so much, I had to order it. Ours says Today, I join my life to yours, and our date! Seller is palomasnest!

That is really frustrating!!! Most of our guests are staying for such a short time that it probably won't affect us - I know one group that will try to make it to swim with the dolphins - hopefully they're still going to offer that at BOGO 50% off! I didn't know we could book the free tours in advance - did you just call or email someone?

My guests are being offered the same tours at a chargeable rate which seems really unfair to me. Bait and switch is the name of the game and it is causing a great deal of dissatisfaction since the room rate at Moon Palace is the highest in the whole Cancun area. Oh no! I hope that they are still offering the ones that we wanted to take!! We were really looking forward to Chichen Itza! Oh, I know I spelled that wrong! Do you know which ones are dropped?
