  1. Good morning forum! Is there a TA on here that specializes in St.Thomas? We need help. We have a small group heading there at the end of August. Thanks a million!
  2. Kokalloa, Oh I know about dogging a bullet! I signed up for this site when I was planning my destination wedding back in 08. My then fiance called it off and packed up and moved out of our house on Christmas Eve while I was at work!! I thank God everyday I didn't marry him. Later I met my sweetie and now planning a new destination wedding in St. Thomas. All is well and ends well ( I should update my screen name) I would love to see your pictures. Sounds like exactly the casual and fun outing we are hoping for. We really don't want a traditional "reception." Just a good time with rum punch and good food. Please pm me. Thanks again.
  3. Hi ladies, I know there are a couple of St. Thomas natives on this site so I'm hoping maybe one of them or maybe a past St. Thomas bride can help me out. We are going to St. Thomas next April and wanted to do a dinner cruise with about 30 people (the company I found is New Horizons). I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the dinner cruises? Is the food any good? Are the boats nice? Is there any other company that someone could recommend? Thanks a million
  4. I'm sorry to here. God might be preparing your FI for something even better. My FI (he's also in IT) and I both went through job struggles this year and we both landed on our feet and in jobs we love. Try to stay positive and remember sometimes we can't see the blessing because of the storm.

I lived in Atlanta for 21 years moved to Philly for 4 hated it!! and now I am back where I belong ... the home of peach cobbler, Pearchtree street, and the Dawgs!!! JoLo908 take the plunge. Come to Georgia. My sister (also a Georgia peach) moved from here to Jersey and she hates it. She is trying desperately to get a transfer back here. Come on.....
  6. My Sweetie and I met on blackplanet.com. I went to a friend Corey's wedding and I was teasing him about marrying a girl he met on the internet. He is the biggest joker/comedian I have ever known but when we were talking, he looked at me very seriously and said "It was the best thing he had ever done!" About a week after my friend's wedding, I moved to a new State for school and didn't know a single person. I couldn't shake my conversation with Corey. He's never serious about anything!! I decided to log on and see if there were any decent people at least close to where I was living at the time. Neither one of us remembers who started the conversation, but I met my sweetie on the site!! And the irony...his name is Corey too!!! We talked nonstop on the computer for about a month. He does IT and I was in school at the time so we were both on the computer pretty regularly. After about two months, I knew that I had met my husband, I just hadn't physically met him yet!! We finally agreed to meet in downtown Philly at the clothes pin. That was four years ago!!!!
  7. There is a hobby lobby by my job. I'll be there on my lunch hour!! Thanks

Anyway...here they are......:-) I am SOOOO sealing these!!! They turned out amazing. Was it very time consuming to create these? and where did you get the envelopes?

FutureMrsRobinson, what places have you checked out? I am leaning towards The Ruins myself, although I started out wanting either an outdoor Great House venue, or at least a nice garden setting in the mountains. I've considered Bellefield Great House (currently closed for refurbishment) in MoBay, Good Hope Great House in Falmouth (expensive and roads to the plantation are terrible!), Firefly in Oracabessa (beautiful view but setting is too casual and grounds aren't that great), Cranbrook Flower Forest (pretty nice and cheapest option so far, just not as crazy about their ceremony gazebo), and now there's the Ruins. Have you heard of Laughing Waters. Mi dear, supposed to be very exclusive...where PJ Patterson and his cronies use; I think his daughter was married there too. But you need a referral from someone to even see the place!! Also thinking of checking out Coyaba Gardens. Any other ideas for an outdoor venue? bashigyal hi!!! Another Jamaican!!! I'm so excited!!! You are way ahead of me!!! We have only really thought about the Ruins or Evita's for the reception. My FI and are hoping to go to JA for Christmas but with gas prices, I don't think we will be able to go. (Gotta start saving $ for the wedding) Thanks for all the ideas in your post. I have to look into all of them!!!! I definitely want my ceremony to be outside but not on the beach. So that's starting to be a lot more difficult than I thought. I've heard of Laughing Waters but everything I've been able to find says that it's now owned by the government and you can't get access, which sucks!! I really want an outdoor venue for the ceremony so I gotta come up with something. Please keep in touch so if you come up with a great place don't mind sharing I'd really appreciate it.
  10. Thanks for creating this thread. I was wondering about non AI sites. My problem is I am Jamaican! My whole family is already there, only close friends and FI's family will be flying in. And I have a large Jamaican family. We are looking at 100 people for a DW! All the AI's want to charge some ridiculous amount for a day pass for people not staying at the hotel. Just the day passes would blow our budget!! Tropical Weddings seemed like the only non AI coordinators. but I agree with FLgator:It is overkill to charge $20 per guest for just a plastic chair with cover and sash for 15 minutes!! I'm thinking we might just end up getting married in my grandmother's front yard!
  11. I really like them!!! I'll have to recommend them to my girlfriend that's always complaining about her lashes being too thin and too short!
