Facing the ocean is a really cool kind of vine covered set of fancy doors. Have you it yet? If so, would you mind taking a picture for me? I love places like that and want to show my photographer! Did you do a TTD session? Did you visit any cenotes? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so excited now!! Hey Kits55! So, I went for a walk yesterday to the north...and kept walking and walking :-) I walked about 15 mins and could see what looks like a building under construction, so I took some shots I can e-mail when I get back. (I don't think this is where you meant...if it was, I'd suggest it's pretty far to walk in a dress on the beach...) But then I walked to the south and quite close to resort are a few abandoned buildings...I think maybe it was one of these. I took pics of them, though I couldn't specifically see a vine-covered door... One of the buildings looks SUPER creepy! Like from a horror movie :-) But I'll send you all the pics :-) We did do a TTD session the next day! It was super fun! And I was really happy we'd booked it since I could actually do my hair and make-up the way I wanted (long story I'll tell in my review...but my hair and make-up looked NOTHING like how I wanted it to for the wedding day!).. We didn't go to a cenote (for the TTD or any other day), just b/c we haven't had time mostly:-) There are LOTS of cool places around the resort for a TTD session though so don't worry if your photog isn't into travelling somewhere else :-) Okay...anyone..?? Any more pics....? Want me to ask Cecilia anything...?? We leave Monday, so let me know soon! :-)
  2. Hey Ladies! I'm at the resort right now! I actually saw Julielynn on her wedding night and she looked beautiful My wedding was two nights later...and we had a few problems. But I don't want anyone to freak out!! I'll write my review when I get back (after the 15th of December) so hopefully it can help anyone else avoid the problems we had But in a nutshell, if you're having a REALLY small wedding, like 8 people, I'm sure everything will go smoothly. I don't think this resort has had a wedding our size (which I didn't even think was THAT big!) before...we had 26 including us...and I think Cecilia was a little overwhelmed. (she does have to do everything by herself! It's crazy how many hours she works a day...they should really give her an assistant. But anywaaaay...) And as Julielynn said...the resort is gorgeous, the food is delicious and everyone is really nice. I'm here for about another week, so if anyone has any questions, or needs a picture taken of something in particular, please let me know!!!! It's not a problem...I'll try to squeeze it in between tanning by the pool and eating the beach burgers (soooooo good) Cheers!
  3. Thanks ladies! OF COURSE I'll post pics when we get back! (duh :-))

  5. Hey Ladies! This is likely one of my last posts before leaving! I'm a bad BDW member though b/c I had to drop off some things at my friends' places to pack for me b/c I have NO ROOM LEFT! Sooooo, I didn't have EVERYTHING to take pics of for my planning thread, but I took pics of what I do have here :-) Here's the planning thread I just posted: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...052#post618312 Just wanted to say thanks to all you guys on this thread...you've really helped me out! I'll probably check in here tomorrow, but then I'm off! And, of course, I'll check back in when I'm back... :-) Have a great couple weeks!
  6. Hey Ladies, So, unfortunately, AS USUAL, I've waited until the last minute to get everything done:-) So, some of my stuff (welcome letters, pashminas, etc) has already been dispersed to friends' luggage :-) (We leave in a day and half!) However, what I do have here, I took pictures of... And I wanted to thank everyone who posted their own ideas on this forum, b/c there's NO WAY I could have done this stuff with out you! So...here goes...may not be the most perfect, but hey, this is coming from a complete DYI-dummie:-) Also, pls excuse some of the shots looking not quite focused...my camera was acting up... First...invitations...The only thing here I did NOT DIY :-) (I blurred the last names...they didn't come like that, haha:-)) Placecards... Table Numbers... Poem card for table...asking people to answer a Three's Company trivia question instead of clinking their glasses if they want us to kiss... Menu cards...(excuse the crooked shot:-)) Reserved signs for parents... Guestbook sign... Thanks again for all your help ladies!
  7. I think I posted what we're doing in another "alternatives to glass clinking" thread, but maybe I'm losing my mind (VERY possible)...and I'll post here to:-) We (well, okay, I) made up little tent cards with a poem on them basically saying if anyone wants us to kiss, they have to answer a Three's Company trivia question :-) It goes back to the first night my FI and I met...he tested my Three's Company knowledge:-) If they get it right, we kiss. If they don't...not sure...maybe we'll make them do a shot of tequiila!

Kelly Welcome to our little thread! :-) I leave in two days! So I'll be sure to post a full review when I get back...And Julielynn is getting married two days before me, so you should have lots of info to help you decide:-)

We've actually had to wire money to a couple vendors as well as our resort, and so far so good, no problems! :-)

I hope and pray that this calmness sticks with me! Happy Thanksgiving and Weddings to all!!! Thanks Amy!! Good luck...and may the force be with you Quote: Originally Posted by kevsgirl Yay! I was just thinking...this time next week will be the night before our wedding:-) GAWD, I hope we remember our dance moves, haha:-) As for my dress...I'm happy with it...I just KIND of wish it was a TAD looser...but the seamstress was pretty adamant that a strapless dress should be very snug b/c it loosens over the course of the night and if it gets too loose, I'll keep tugging at it and pulling it up:-) I just hope I can do our dance in it BTW, Kevsgirl -- your hair flowers ROCK!!! VERY nice job! WHo knows if I'll EVER have time to do my planning thread...I'm so impressed you've started yours... even more impressed Amy already put hers up!! :-) I had my hair highlighted today...waxing Monday, nails Tuesday...Whew. The seamstress made it really snug...so basically, I can't eat until the day after our wedding:-) I'm hoping to post a planning thread before I go...but we'll see if I have time
  13. OMG -- waxing! EEK! TOTALLY forgot to book that! Thanks for reminding me!!! I think we're all going nuts right now...Happy Weddings to all! :-)

I actually mentioned your "circus" problem to my agent as well...and she was floored that would be a problem! :-) Glad that worked out for you too! And hey -- maybe we'll run into each other:-) We're acftually having our welcome dinner on the beach on Friday night...maybe our two groups will end up at the bar together, haha:-) (you got any single guys going for my single girl friends..? :-))
  15. If people want to see us kiss, they have to answer a Three's Company trivia question ! This goes back to the first time my FI and I met, when he asked me a million Three's Company trivia questions... and I got all but one of them right:-) We made up a small poem that says they have to stand up and say they want us to kiss, then we have a bunch of trivia questions about the show Three's Company we'll ask...if they get their question right, we kiss...if they don't get it right, they can sit right back down:-) (actually, maybe we'll combine...and make them do a shot of tequila if they get it wrong:-))

So, we'd have to pay that twice if we also wanted it for the reception...dumb I know :-) But that's okay...our DJ will be there by then with his own sound gear:-) And just an update on my situation with the resort, if any of you ladies are wondering :-) Everything has now been sorted out...but GEEZ, was it ever a lot of aggravation for nothing:-) The good news, for those getting married a few months down the road...I REALLY don't think you'll have the same kind of "left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" kind of issues:-) I leave in a week and a half! And will definitely keep y'all posted on how it goes! :-)
  17. Yay -- my turn!! Just went for my second fitting today and FINALLY remembered to bring a camera:-)
  18. Kevsgirl -- glad to hear the dress is better! whoo-hoo ;-) One LESS thing to worry about :-) Sounds like you had/are having a jam-packed weekend...hope your showers were fun! I FINALLY had my second fitting today -- yay! AND I brought a camera...so will post pics:-) The seamstress just has to tweak a few things (the bustle and the waist), but then it's good to go! (am picking it up Wednesday night...) AND, thank GAWD, I think I've made my final trip to the freakin' craft store! :-) Bought my final cardstock and double-sided tape, haha:-) At least, I HOPE that was my last trip Okay, will try to post pics of my dress here :-)

Carlos was great to work with and made our wedding day memorable!!! Yay! So happy to hear! We have him booked for our wedding in about two weeks! :-)

Haha -- I don't mind at all! Thanks Nylalany...really...all this information is very helpful:-)

I'm SURE it will all be fine...but yeesh! who needs the aggravation??
  22. Jody -- thanks so much for the input! Very helpful:-) We would actually have to pay $180 for the sound system just for the ceremony, but it sounds like it's worth it, so we probably will... And thanks for clarifying the whole taxi card thing...I hadn't actually heard of those fare cards before, so good to know:-)
  23. Thanks Nylalany! I'll definitely check picasa out...although I am leaning towards Koadak I think... But picasa also sounds like it's very user friendly... Arrrgh...again:-) Decisions...decisions...:-)

I think maybe we'll use the pool for some shots! :-) As for gawking...I don't know...I think I'd feel weird walking in front of everyone who's hanging out at the pool boozing it up:-) But maybe not...maybe I'd just need some booze too:-)
