  1. Congrats Wendy, you are a quick planner!
  2. Congrats Erin, Hawaii sounds like a great option and you will find tons of information here. It's a lot different then Calgary even though you have such a nice landscape close to you. I always love going to Calgary every year to shoot a wedding or two (used to live there)
  3. You will find the information a lot more useful for your destination wedding. Welcome
  4. Congrats. Cruises are a ton of fun. +1 about sometimes being able to call them your guests. Lots of people have friends with cameras and big lenses
  5. Congrats and welcome fellow Canadian

    Congrats, have fun planning!
  8. Congrats. You still have a bit of time get get everything organized. There are plenty of great photographers on the forum as well as brides with experience with ones local to resorts.
  9. Definitely still a destination wedding. You have the luxury of easy planning since you are already there. Lucky
  10. Congrats! I love small intimate wedding. The smallest wedding I have photographed so far was 11 people including the B&G. You will have a great time.
  11. Congrats! If it was me: I love the idea of posting all the options up on the wall and throwing a dart and seeing where it lands. More realistically you will find tons of information from brides in the sub forums. I have been pouring through them myself getting a little more educated.
  12. Congrats and welcome!
  13. Welcome. A couple friends of mine have been to that resort and they said they loved it. It wasn't for a wedding though... Good luck with your planning
  14. Congrats Nicole, What a treat it will be to be down there in January to escape the Calgary cold, unless there is a chinook at the time that is. I can honestly say I don't miss the indecisive nature of Calgary weather when I used to lived there last winter. Good luck with your planning!
  15. I am sure you will find some people on here with lots of information about Riu Cribe. Congrats, I am sure you will have a great time - especially since you are getting married on my birthday - it's always a great day!

    Newbie!

Congrats! I don't envy your decision between the nice hotels through the Mayan, there is so much to choose from. Good luck with your research!
  17. Congrats! Nice to see fellow Torontonians on here!
  18. Congrats! I was down there last November shooting my cousins wedding and it was amazing. The only thing I suggest is that if you are getting married on the beach, ask them to clean up the shoreline of seaweed the morning of your ceremony. It will make your pictures look a little nicer.
  19. Hey Everyone, I actually joined here a while ago but have never been active until now so I thought I would take the time to introduce myself. I love the idea of this forum and wish I was active in it a long time ago! As for me, I am a wedding photographer based out of Toronto, Ontario. I absolutely love shooting weddings. I get to meet so many awesome new people and have a great time doing what I love. Destination weddings to me adds a completely new element of creative possibility. Coincidentally I have a destination wedding at the Eldorado Seaside Suites with an active member on here (SoonToBeE) next month which I am stoked about. So far I have only done Mexico weddings but would love to explore new areas. I will try to help out where ever I can as well as learn as much as possible. Feel free to check out my website/blog or drop me a line. Cheers! Jon
