The ONLY exception is you can not use the Palace Gazeebo for your ceremony unless you are staying at the Palace your wedding night.

Cancun Wedding Photographer Riviera Maya You don't have to sneak anyone in, they allow outside vendors, you just have to pay the $75 day pass.

You only have to book your & your FI's room to hold your date

That is what I am leaning towards as of right now. Many girls have had the reception on the beach... the only negative things are the weather & sand in your food if it is windy. Just rember that they will charge you $250 to move the dance floor if the weather is bad & you have to move your reception indoors.

  6. Sea Breeze Package: Private dinner choosen off a set menu from one of the a la carte restaruants, dinner can only be held in a banquet room for parties over 11 people, if under 11 they do it in the restaurant you choose the same menu from. (note there is a $20pp charge for any guests over 20) Under the Stars: Private dinner with the menu choosen from 4 differnt options (this is different food than served at the restaurnts, specially made for weddings) You can order a taste test, but they charge you to do that You can mix and match from the 4 different menu options (meaning a app from choice 1, dessert from choice 3, etc), but you have to choose only one 4 course meal for your guest unless there is a vegitarian or soemthing. ie. if you choose beef for you main course, everyone gets beef, unless the are a vegitarian, you can't let the guests pick from either chicken or beef, you choose for them. 7. Here is the menus that you can mix & match for the Under the Stars & Above packages: Menus.pdf
  8. For the Under the Stars & Above packages, you can either have your dinner on the beach or in a Snack Bar near the ocean. Snack bars are only open from 7am -6:30pm which is why you can do your dinner there. It is open air, lots of fans & over looks the beach/ocean (I loved this option) The Coral Grill at the Palace, & the Mariaci Grill at the Colonial are no longer avaible as an option (They are both open for dinner now). You can only use the Palmaras Grill at the Tropical... I will post pics soon... Free Centerpieces: This is the standard, a plate, an oil thing-y, & a hurricane vase that goes over the top, they make a flower out of fruit like a melon to go around the plate depending upon the season is the fruit they use! 9. Hey girls, I just got back from a site visit to the Barcelo Maya Resorts we stayed for 7 days. My FI & I are staying on the Colonial/Tropical side until the night of our wedding & upgrading to the Palace that night & for the rest of our stay. Here is the run down, it doesn't matter where your guests stay, only where you and your FI are booked the day you get married. ie. if you are booked at the Colonial/Tropical you can not use the palace gazebo for your wedding, but if you are booked at the Palace the day of your wedding, you can. Differences btwn the resorts: Palace: Unlimited A la carte restaurants, top shelf liquor, can use ALL facilities at Palace, Colonial/Tropical, Beach/Caribe Colonial/Tropical: Can not use any facilities/pool or even walk over to the Palace, A la carte meal tickets (depending upon number of days booked (1-3 tickets), No top shelf drinks (ie. Jack Daniels, Absolut, etc), can use/eat at all of the facilities on the Colonial/Tropical & Beach/Caribe Beach/Caribe: Can not use any facilities/pool or even walk over to the Palace, A la carte meal tickets can only be used a the Beach/Caribe Restaurants (Al Agave, Mexican; Don Quiote, Spanish) (depending upon number of days booked (1-3 tickets), No top shelf drinks (ie. Jack Daniels, Absolut, etc), can eat only at the beach grills of the Colonial/Tropical & only use their pools, no Colonial/Tropical restaurants or buffet. 11. I have booked him for my wedding as well! We have 39 booked so far & I am execting about 50 or so! Not small, but I really didnt want to shell out $900 that DJ Mannia quoted me & I don't need fireworks. Just great music. I was trying to decided between an iPod or a DJ & when I spoke with DJ Bob & he quoted me less almost half of DJ Mannia.... I decided to go with a DJ. I spoke with him on the phone for about 45 min. Him & his wife moved from Jersey to Playa Del Carmen about 8 years ago..... so he speaks perfect english, has a cell phone you can contact him on & is currently doing Kareoke at 2 bars in Cancun 2x's a week & weddings on the weekend! He will download any music you want to be played or you can let him choose. I am going for a site visit of our resort & he is going to meet us down there just to say hi. He has also gone to visit the resort & already met with the WC's there to see where he can set up & to get any rules they might have.... & we're not getting married until May! I was very impressed with him so far!
  12. Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear works great! Stays on & has a chapstick like "gloss" So no color or gooey ness will get on him
  13. Look at the airfare price differences! We didn't look, I wish we would have compared it before we decided!
  14. I use St Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub.... scrub the backs of my arms in the shower & try to leave it on as long as I can while I shave or something Its cheap & works perfectly! I think the 2nd key is to moistureze 2 times a day.... before bed & in the morning... It has really made mine go away, but I have to do it every day!
  15. There is no Michaels in the Cancun area.... if you read around on these posts so many girls say that the beauty of their wedding backdrop (ie. beach) was beautiful enough. I am just bringing a aqua candle, putting it in the hurricane vase they provide for free, sprinkiling some sand on the table & putting a different picture of my FI & I next to each hurricane on each table. I really don't think its worth spending $$ on centerpieces, I can't truly recally many centerpieces from weddings I have been to & if I do remember them... I really don't appricate how much they probablly cost I think the best thing about a DW is that you can be simple & no one expects some elaborate centerpiece!
  16. Hopefully these will help http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...archid=1894350 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t30777
  17. DO IT! My FI & I would do it in a hearbeat.... but I can't leave my job I really think you will regret it if you don't... once in a lifetime opportunity.. PLUS: you know you will have more visitors than you want
