  1. Thaks for the replies!!! I guess 90 is not too bad-another bride sent me info on people who come to your room so Ill look into that as well. Ill just suck it up and pay $90, bummer. I want such a simple updo-maybe for the money Ill get something fancier! he he he Thanks Yes and the bellagio asks if its bridal, I lied and said no-I mean I have no veil/headpiece so whats it to them....I mean 150? COME ON!!! lol
  2. Hi everyone! I guess the nerves have finally set in-just the nerves of planning something from so far away!!! To those who got married in Vegas or are about to-where are you getting your hair and or hair and make up done? I have a friend in vegas and she recommended a salon-but its like 20 min from the strip and I dont wanna risk not getting ready in time. The bellagio charges 90. for a updo and 150 for bridal ( I didnt say bridal since I dont hav a veil or headpiece). Can anyone give me some suggestions? Anyone reputable who comes to the hotel maybe? I found some online but they seem sketchy!!! Or even a place you went that was good Thanks so much!!!
  3. I love GH! ever notice how the 2 roto router guys are the ones always finding stuff? The girl is annoying-Kris Willaims They did a story at this place called valentown-near Rochester NY (where Jay is from-Canandaigua) and its 10 min from my house. Now I wanna go there!!!
  4. Also USAIR ( i think it was usair) is now charging for soda-2.00 a can!!! It was on our news yesterday! So now you can bring your own drink through security and NOW you have to pay to get one on the plane or buy after you go thru security which is always overpriced! I do understand airlines CANT afford the gas-either can we who only drive cars. I mean we got lucky for our jetblue flight-rochester, ny to jfk, then to Vegas 139 each way! We certainly couldnt drive from NY to NV for 700.00 in gas. I really wonder how airlines will make ANY MONEY? its a sad state this country is in with fuel prices
  5. Thanks for all the advice. I really needed someone who understands second weddings and dest. weddings! It seems like all people think is were eloping with ELVIS! LOL On with the planning............ any more advice or chit chat-please fell free
  6. OK now I have a question ( from reading all of this information) Im getting married in vegas-I now its easy to get the license there-but whenw e sign it, I sign the new name?? Question 2-I never legally changed my name after my divorce-LONG STORY ( house still in both our names, etc...) so do I sign my new married name and just change it with SS/dmv/etc when I am back in NY? Hope Im not stealing your thread
  7. Thank you so much for the amazing replies. I am so excited to finally be in love with the person I am marrying. I've been told-I dont get a shower, I cant wear white(and the person who said it shouldnt have worn white on her wedding due to the fact she was a H**), and then when I mentioned an at home recption/picnic my own mother said it wasnt necessary! I keep thinking it is-everyone else does something when they get back! My DF wants to register but I too thought it was tacky to register and put the cards in the envelope so thanks for that advice I wont include them but I'll include it in the wedding website-and add the site to the invitation to the picnic!! We have so many friends that want to have a party with us so Im going ahead with it. My own sister is married to a man who is divorced and she keeps making some comments like-well you dont need this or that b/c its your second wedding. Ummm as far as I am concerned it is MY ONLY wedding because its the one that actually matters. My last one I was young and made a mistake. Gosh-why do we celebrate birthdays every year-should I tell them-well 33 isnt important as 35 so lets wait til then? LOL Rachel-HA HA I loved your comment-I was like YEAH right on! Danielle-I saw that show too with the dad-talk about $$$$ for a wedding-LOL! Thanks everyone!!
  8. HI! This board has saved my sanity for wedding planning in Vegas and only having 10 weeks to do it-now 7 3/4th! ha ha I was married before-so no shower, no bachelorette for me. But......... Here's the questions: 1. Is it appropriate to have a reception/picnic AFTEr the wedding back in our hometown at a local park (cabin w/ fireplace/outdoor games, etc) and invite everyone to that? 2. DF wasnt ever married, so can we register and ONLY include the registry cards for people on his side of the family and friends? 3. DO I walk down the aisle myself(second wedding, dad wont be there)? Thanks for the replies!!!!!!! I appreciate it!
  9. Christine-thanks for the Cozmel's suggestion, I wonder about going there also!! I amde reservations at Firefly already ( just to save a place, at least) but mexican is my FAV!!! Good luck on the baby-I see you are 38 weeks-I bet you are READY!!!!!! COngrats

  14. I love Alfred Angelo-now this might sound gross or weird to some.....but i went to a regular bridal shop for my first wedding and just happened to like an AA one. So this time when i was searching I looked up AA.com and found one i loved. This time i went to an actualy Alfred Angelo store and got it. They were very nice. i am taking it to a smeamstress to get the alterations b/c when you go to a private seamstress its cheaper! HTH!
  15. I would suggest Firefly, off the strip, excellent TAPAS restaurant. We go all the time, we might go there after our reception. HUge pitchers ofr sangria-all homemade. They are on the vegas websites and google search!
