I know the weddings are an hour apart but confused how the reception works, especially since we are planning for a 3 hour reception.... I am not sure how that would work. Are you planing on doing the set-up with the tent and stringing lights? I would assume that they have differnt areas of the beach they could use.

Also are you using the chair sashes at wedding ceremony site and reception? I looove candles so I def. want candles! I am a little stuck on colors. My Save The Dates were brown with that Aqua Tiffany color which I love but I am having trouble figuring out to incorporate it with our decorations. You planning your reception indoors? Is the location choose before we go or when we get there? What are you doing for your ceremony decor? Sorry so many questions! You seem to know what your doing though! Thanks for your guidance! I am going to forego the included centerpieces and go with the upgraded candle options. I love candles too and love that soft look that they provide. Yes, we requested an indoor location for the reception. Unfortunately, we have to wait until we meet with the on site coordinator to find out the exact location for the ceremony and reception. That's the one part that I don't like about Sandals. It makes preplanning even harder. For ceremony decor I plan on ordering the tropical arrangements on the white pedestals. We are also doing raffia fans for all the guests; I really wanted chair covers for the ceremony and reception. However, it’s way too expensive to rent them for both. I’m just going to get them for the reception. I love brown and tiffany blue. It’s very pretty together. You could accent the tables with blue candles and bring in the brown with your menu cards or place cards. Questions are not a problem. I got most of my ideas from past brides on this site!

  5. Sarah is the best!! I had thought about trying to DIY my invitations. However, after seeing Sarah’s work on her website and from other BDW Brides I knew I wanted Sarah to design our invitations. Rob and I had seen a style that we liked in a magazine and we emailed Sarah our inspiration picture. She captured our vision and created an invitation that was better than we could have dreamed of. Sarah was great to work with and very responsive. She provided several options and worked with us until we got exactly what we wanted. I HIGHLY recommend her! I can’t wait to work with her on some of our other paper projects. Sarah’s website is: Sproullie Designs - Home Here are a few pictures PS: If you click on the picture it will open to it's full size and you will see how awesome they are!!!

I am really hoping to hav eit as close to the beach as possible! JamaicaBride09- Hi there! I am just curious what are you doing in regard to decorations...from what I gather you are paying for the $75 as well.... I plan on getting Option 2 & 4 from the Candlelight decor for each table. We are bringing our own chair sashes and table runners and then I would like to sprinkle some pink sea glass on each table. Our colors are sage and choclate broen. I ordered satin choclate brown table runners and sage chair sashes. What decor are you considering?

I'm gonna want to know what you thought was hot (and what, if anything, was not!), which restaurants were better than others, how it was to deal with the onsite coordinators, how your reception and photography went....and I'll be positively dying to see PICTURES of everything! CAN'T WAIT FOR YOUR REVIEW!! Oh, and what location did you decide on again for your ceremony? Was it the Reef Terrace? That spot is super gorgeous, too! I love the water in the background of the photos I've seen so far...we want to get a few done there if possible! Can't wait -- thanks for the support, chicas! Weather permitting, we plan on getting married on the beach. We also booked the three hour reception which we are going to extend for an additional hour. Since our ceremony begins at 5:00pm (sunset), I am not too concerned about resort guests.
  10. Hey Meg, I plan on doing starfish wine bottle stoppers for the reception in addition to the OOT bags.
  11. We plan on tipping our butlers in the beginning and at the end of the trip. I thought I found a suggested amount on trip advisor. Let me check through my notes...

Has anyone booked any xtras? I was thinking of surprising my FI and booking a private dinner on the beach at Sandals. Has anyone ever done this? Any other suggestions? Hi Jennie, All of the extras that I have booked so far are wedding related. However, we do plan on booking the private dinner on the beach one evening. Happy Planning!

Actually, since I am trying to be as cautious in my planning as possible, I didn't want to get anything created with dates on them (invitations, monograms, etc.) until the trip was locked in, so NOW I will have my work cut out for me! There was a little hiccup in the booking: My regular TA Bobbi at AAA Travel (the travel division of the national motorist assistance company) was unable to make it to my appointment yesterday due to a family emergency, and although there was a little bit of confusion (since we had to finalize plans with one of her well-intentioned co-workers because I had my heart set on getting this thing booked by the end of May), everything worked out for the best! John and I will we doing the following for our WeddingMoon: Dates of Stay: May 11 - 15, Sandals Grande Ocho Rios Room: Honeymoon Penthouse Oceanfront Concierge Room (Riviera Side of the resort) Wedding Date, Time and Location: May 14, 2010, 2:00 pm, Roman Gazebo (Manor Side of the Resort) Here is a pic. in case anyone doesn't know what the Roman Gazebo looks like -- I absolutely LOVE how unique and dramatic it is! Then after our guests depart on 5/15, he and I are going to stay in Jamaica for a few more days for a "Mini Moon" as I call it, or a short honeymoon just the two of us: Dates of Stay: May 15 - 18, Sandals Royal Caribbean (located in Montego Bay) Room: Royal Honeymoon Luxury Beachfront Concierge Room I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED, GIRLS, AND I JUST WANTED TO PASS ALONG THE GOOD NEWS! Congratulations to everyone else who has already booked and for those who will be booking in the near future -- it's an amazing sense of relief! And, now we're one step closer to becoming man and wife! Christie, I am so excited that you are officially a SGOR bride! Please let me know if I can answer any questions. Rob and I will be at SGOR from November 11th - November 18th. I promise I will take lots of pictures for future SGOR brides!
  15. Vistaprint is very addicting!! I have used them for t-shirts, brochures, STD reply postcards, postcards, business cards, notecards, hats and I just did invitations for my dad's upcoming birthday party!

The prices are not locked in. Sandals is very good about honoring their new rates. Rob and I were able to upgrade our room to the butler level!!!
