  1. I agree that a mix of actual gifts and gift cards are a good idea. Personally, I love gift cards (receiving just as much as giving) because I like the thought that I can use them when I need them.
  2. Congrats, and welcome to the forum! My wedding is the day before yours.

  4. I just installed Publisher to fool around with (and making monograms, among other things) and could use a little help too!

All we have left is finding my wedding dress, pants for him, and our airfare!

The laser engraving increases the cost of the band - his was $300 and it's going to take, at worst case scenario, 6-10 weeks to get his band (since the store model didn't fit - but we got to take it home until the new ring comes in).

  9. Here's his: it's a Tungsten band with the laser engraving. He's been drooling over it for months! and we paid off my band (we placed it on layaway to make sure it wouldn't get sold): Now, we need to purchase our airfare and attire then we're all set!
  10. LOVE the last picture! Might have to 'steal' it from you for my photo shoot!
  11. This MIGHT be my dress: And there are 2 reasons why: it's so heavy and we're getting married in the Caribbean; and I'm not going to have anyone help me get into the dress! But, it's on my list and if I wasn't eloping, it would be THE DRESS

  13. Hello Girls! I'm looking for some true, real, opinions and reviews of SPANX. I've been looking into them to wear under my dress (since I did a little dress shopping yesterday) to smooth out ... well, everything! LOL Please share your experience.
  14. I was at DB this afternoon and they told me that if I placed the order today, the earliest it would be ready is September (didn't specify which part of September), so that's about two months.

  16. So, now that there is a planning journal, is there going to be a trips report thread - as a follow-up to the planning journal?
  17. everything is gorgeous! Love the menu paper, where did you get it? Also, SO jealous that you were able to get your flowers from AA - they're not accepting orders unless the ship by date is Feb 2009!

Has anyone out here cruised to a destination and got married there? This is my second marriage and I do not really want anything over the top something simple and romantic and it seems like it is going to cost a fortune! I NEED HELP!! But I am very excited that I have found this great place! Hi Melissa! I too am marrying for the second time via cruise! This time I'm having a 'private ceremony' (read: eloping) in the Cayman Islands via NCL in Jan 2009. If you have any questions, I can try to answer them. P.S. I visited Michigan for 5 days this past May. Frankenmuth was my favorite spot!
  20. Love Penn and Teller and I've been to one of their shows. LOVED IT! I've been watching BullSh!t since it aired.

Our whole entire family and network of friends know, so we jokingly call it our 'private wedding'. We're getting married via cruise and this, getting married, was a spontaneous decision so we didn't want to put any pressure on our friends/family on attending the ceremony (due to cruise costs, airfare, passports, etc). So, it's just going to be us for the ceremony and we're going to host an AHR later in the year.

Now, we just have to pick out the extras we want!
  23. Hi Girls!! I'm more of a lurker (although trying to change that) and I'm too excited right now and I just had to share... FH and I just paid our deposit for our ceremony (we're eloping). Which means the reality of our wedding is really starting to sink in!!! And, this also means that I am going to get more and more excited and probably obsessive. ... Next up: buying his ring and dress shopping (all planned for this weeekend) !!!
