  1. I am stuck on the London area because we are wanting a specific area. Trust me we've been looking and actually missed out on an opportunity or 2. We aren't looking to buy..just rent for now until we get settled and figure out exactly where we want to be long term. We have been looking in the north west area - north of gainsborough between wonderland & hyde park - and the reason is because that is where his boys lives..so we want to be as close as possible. I'm heading to London on the 5th to view a few properties. Orthotics..yup have them..and they don't do a thing for me. I've even had synvisc injections in my right knee and that isn't working either. My right side is a mess from my hip down. I'm going to be asking for an MRI & blood work and perhaps ultrasounds on my legs to check my veins...I am truly falling apart!

That's my plan for this weekend, but if they don't work then I won't bother. I have your number and will give you a call. The iron on's from Michael's worked well...don't buy any yet though because I think I have some left..if I do you can have them and even if I don't have enough sheets you can try it out to see if it works. I will definetly call you and see what works best for you. Jeff has to work Sat. during the day and then he's off on Sunday. Yes, I'm a toughie! It's not that bad and there's nothing else I can do about it so I may as well come to work. It's funny because alot of my medical issues (with my knees) is because I am on my feet alot on a concrete floor..not good!
  3. Standard rooms have regular keys. Deluxe Wing/Jr. Suites have key cards and you are given 2. Safe's - you get an actual lock w/key. You put the lock in the opening of the safe & then lock it with the key.
  4. Red Stripe it is! It was good though!! Bahama Mama's & Pina Colada's...one important tidbit..they just pour the rum in the glass then put like a slushy mix over..it was a bit strong & you had to stir it like crazy. Ask for your drink blended ;-) Also...I would ask for Coconut rum as well..just my preference
  5. WOOHOO!! I can't believe how close you ladies are!! I sooo remember those days! Christene ~ Sorry about your B party! I didn't really have one either..just a few drinks with my mom & sisters..that it. IRON ON's ~ I got a pack of them from Michaels that I printed on using my computer. Also, I used VistaPrint to make 4 t-shirts with monograms & dates for our stag & doe..I think it was around $50 all together with shipping. They are located in ON so it didn't take long for them to get to me..maybe a week...just a thought! Amanda ~ I have to get those parasols to you..what's Sunday like for you? We could meet up or something..let me know..give me a call!! So..I had a crazy holiday and when I came back to work on Sunday I ended up having to go to emerge. It appears as if one of my superficial veins was inflammed and found out I had a blood clot that popped. So..I was off work yesterday on meds with my leg wrapped..not fun! I'm back at work now..waiting for my doctors appt. on the 9th to get more answers..OH JOY! On a somewhat happy note..I am kid free until the 1st in the evening..sounds great and all but of course Jeff is working late which means although I will get some "me" time I won't get any "Jeff" time LOL Oh well..what's a girl to do?!?! Ohh and I'm still trying to find a place in London for my impending move...no luck yet. We found a house that we thought was perfect only to find out it was taken. I'm soo looking forward to having a few drinks tomorrow night!!! YEAH!!!
  6. Hello ladies!! I'm so glad christmas is done..it's been a busy month! I didn't get anything for christmas (other than my stocking) as Jeff and I decided not to exchange gifts this year. The kids got spoiled of course!! I'm back to work tomorrow for the week and going crazy trying to find a house in London! Amanda ~ NICE!! I got bling last year..was hoping for some diamond earrings this year but you know...I'm glad your turkey turned out!! I'll post another GTKY tomorrow!
  7. Sorry I haven't been around much..... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

  11. Thanks! That's what I was thinking but wanted to clarify because after reading the info on the gov. website I got all confused...see this is what happens when you have a bit of time to read crap on the internet lol
  12. OK..I'm just curious as to how this is going to work with the Marriage Certificate from Jamaica. Do I need to apply for a marriage certificate here using the marriage certificate from Jamaica? Can I simply use the marriage certificate from Jamaica to change my last name? I was looking at the ontario government website about marriages outside of ontario and I'm unclear as to how to go about this. Any info would be appreciated!

When I wanted to resume my maiden name I had nothing but problems and then had to go through my MP's office in order to get some assistance. If you go to the ministry of ontario website...here is a link that gives you the option of assuming your spouses last name or electing to change your name to your spouses name. Change of Name Info Here is another link: Assuming Your Spouses Name When you click on this link it will give you info on what to do when you want to "assume" your spouses name instead of legally changing it. All you need to do is present your marriage certificate and you can change your last name on your id - drivers license, health card, passport etc. without changing your last name on your birth certificate. The option is yours but from my experience it's a pain in the a$$ to change your name on your birth certificate HTH!
  14. OMG Amanda I love your pics!! I sooo wish I could have joined you!! I've been buried in snow...Friday was hell here at work! I must have spent 3 hours in our parkiing lot trying to dig out 5 trucks that were stuck on top of dealing with picketters etc. I had yesterday off but had to get a bit of shopping done..unfortunately my ever so blessed children weren't cooperating with my babysitter (stupid petty kid fighting crap) so I had to come home! I'm thinking about heading to Walmart tonight to get a few more things..I can't seem to shop anywhere else because of my hours of work! BAH HUMBUG! I want christmas to be over so I can resume a somewhat normal life! I'm so stressed it's not even funny...and sleep..what the hell is that! I'm lucky to get 5 hours! Sorry for the rant...just frustrated and stressed to no end..I need to get out of my house and out of my office lol
  15. WOOHOO!! One more thing off the list! Now you can think about Christmas, birthdays and meeting up with me to get those parasols LOL
  16. I think at this point I should have a drinking problem with the amount of stress I'm under...however...I'm at work so darn late that the LCBO is always closed!! DARN!! Anyway...I am definetly a white wine drinker..don't mind beer but it makes me burp and I'm lovin the coconut rum. To narrow it down...White Wine!
  17. GTKY ~ Favourite Alcoholic Drink I'm not 100% sure what I like the best because I like so many so I'll have to think about it
  18. Sounds like fun Christene!! I think I may actually get some christmas shopping done this saturday..then it's back to work on Sunday! I sooo need a spa day lol
  19. Hi Angela I didn't rent the disco but here are my thoughts anyway lol When I got married (on a Wednesday) the disco didn't open at all. No one had it rented and it didn't open at 11pm. Personally, I think it really depends on a few things..1) what time is your wedding? 2) how many guests? (if you have alot of guests attending dinner may take a bit longer and some may not want to go party after etc.) 3) it's small..so if you have alot of guests will everyone fit? I decided to not rent the disco because there were only 6 of us. I did go to the disco one evening and I found it small and a bit smelly. The night I did go to check it out there was a bride/groom there partying at 11. I think on top of the cost of renting it is the bartender - open bar fee and I can't recall the other fees involved. I'm not trying to talk you out of it..it just really depends on what you want. I say if you have a large group attending and you want to fill in some time go for it..otherwise..if you have a smaller group I say why pay the extra when it opens at 11...again...just my 2 cents worth lol

I read your review but that was a few weeks ago. I need to know if the speakers that you rent for a beach reception can have an iPod plugged in. I think you can but I just need to make sure. The speakers are a fair size and I from what I can recall they use the same equipment for the beach wedding/reception as they do for any other wedding. Meaning, the equipment we had for our lagoon ceremony would be the same equipment used for a beach wedding/reception. I would confirm with Chandlyn but I'm sure it's the same equipment.
  22. Not that I'm doubting the review..but maybe an email to Chandlyn or the resort in general is a good idea..to clarify

I did use it in my room though..I hooked it up to the tv
  24. Interesting! This is way better than when I was there almost 1 month ago. You had to stand in line to make reservations for the following day/evening. We were lucky to go to 2 a la cartes!
  25. Hello Ladies!! Just wanted to stop by and say hi. Work is crazy (strike is killing me) and I haven't even started my christmas shopping (my 4 children are going to hate me) and I'm exhausted! But anyway..enough about me.. Amanda ~ WOOHOO!! Sounds like you had a blast and got some great gifts! I am working on heading to London soon - I ended up not making the trip on Sunday - so we'll have to work on getting together..I'll call you
