Amy706, one more thing, they have not told me they are going to relocate me yet. They said I would know on Oct 20th, but I heard from one of the other brides that arrives the same day as me and they told her they would decide on Oct 25th, so I think that will apply to me also. I would assume they will decide on the Dec brides by Nov 25 if it is not fixed, but that is totally my assumption.

Amy706, yeah, I got one of those letters that has been posted here and it had the Excell attachment for me to fill in my guest name, arrival date, departure date, flights, and special requests. I think they sent it to all Nov brides at this point. You still have a little longer so hang in there. sdtooley, I think there is a possibility of construction tear down and work for the year 2009 if they do not get this worked out. You are still really far out from your wedding so if I was you, I would wait. There are tons of other beautiful hotels, in fact, if I was you, since I love the Dreawms so much, I would consider doing my wedding at the Dreams Maroma Beach. It will be brand new, oponing Dec 1, and it is still in the Riviera Maya so very similar to Tulum. Good luck!!

dreamstbride, if you have not said anything about the age, just don't even bring it up. I seriously don't think it will be a problem, but that is my opinion. MonoAmor, I'm with you on the sails... I was flying high getting all my stuff done and now I don't want to do any more planning anymore, it sucks. Still trying to stay calm and happy, but it is difficult. I received another request from Sandra and Landy today asking for all my guest information so I finally just sent it out. I arrival day is Nov 1, so Jody and I are in the same boat. We both arrive the day after the cut off date to find out where we are going... I just keep telling myself It will all be fine....

Amesharpe, I feel the exact same way that you do. I had been patiently waiting until 1 month before my wedding to really get to the nitty gritty with them, and now I feel that it is pointless. First, I don't think they will be responsive to detail organization for weddings that are not next week, and second, it might be pointless since the details you would choose at one hotel are different from the details you would choose at a different hotel if we get moved. I was taking it easy for the last 2 weeks but the last 2 days have been unbearable. I am soooo frustrated, I would at least like to know my choices and if I am even getting a choice so I can be more at ease... Sucks... I am not going to worry about the details until I know where I am getting married. But from what ALL the other brides say, we can sit down with Landy once we get down there to review the details and it will all work out. I just hope they are right

Ladies, just got this e-mail from Sandra. I wanted to post it in case someone did not get it for some reason... Receive our best regards from Dreams Tulum. We want to inform that we are passing through a difficult situation where Federal authorities had an agency of the Mexico federal government alleging that the ownership of Dreams Tulum does not have certain authorizations, licenses and/or permits in order. The ownership of Dreams Tulum contends that all paperwork is indeed in order and approved by the proper authorities. The authorities have placed restrictions on the resort and we are actively pursuing a court approved stay or parole in order to remove the restrictions and provide all services to our guests while this situation is decided in court. Since some services and facilities are not available and we are therefore not able to offer a Dreams Resort experience, the resort has had to proactively relocate new arrivals until October 31st. to our sister hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya This was done in order to minimize potential disappointments should we not be able to provide all services and facilities at Dreams Tulum and only in the best interest of the guests. We will continue to relocate arriving guests until we are assured that all services will return to normal at Dreams Tulum. We do not have instructions to relocate weddings for November , except for the ones arriving at the end of October , so please send me your guests list to make sure the wedding group is located at the same resort . How would be the logistic for the wedding by itself? Based on this I would like to explain you the logistic , I already have the guests list that the couple sent us We will make sure they go to the same resort so please note that the entire GROUP WILL BE TOGETHER . The couple doesn't have to deal and plan again the whole wedding , Landy , Lizet and Natalia our wedding planners have all her requests and plan as requested , so the wedding planner from DREAMS TULUM and the wedding couple are going to have a meeting the day after arrival fist time in the morning , the meeting point would be the lobby of the new resort , they will make sure the weddings plans go smoothly and coordinate everything for them based in their initial requests, they are going to be also the wedding day and checking all details . We are trying to keep as much as possible your wedding plans as originally planned , we hope that we would be able to open the hotel shortly but we in case we couldn’t , we should be prepared and planned. We really need your help , we won’t split any wedding group so for that reason we need URGENTLY get your list of guests, please fill out attached form, IF YOU do not have the flight info just fill the arrival and departure date that is enough, and overall LET US KNOW IF THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE GROUP. I know, I had already done my test prints and was ready to go. I am just going to wait till Oct 20th to print, it will be time consuming and I would rather save the money if I end up getting moved. If I get moved, I'm not going to do the menus anymore. I just called the hotel and told them my wedding was Nov8 and asked to speak to someone about the hotel closing and what was going to happen to me and my guests. I don't remember her name, but she was really nice. I'm going to send out an e-mail to my guests and ask them for their info but not tell them the hotel is closed. I don't want to start a panick frenzy and be in the middle of it. I'm just going to tell them I want the info for myself.

O'h and last thing. About the menu. She said if we get sent to Dreams Cancun, our dinner menu for the wedding would most likely stay the same. But if we go to the other hotels, we will have to choose another menu for everyone, which she thinks would be similar but not the same.

Niels408 Your wedding is not till Dec, I don't think they should be pressuring you to make a decision this early on.

Another update. I just called the hotel because I am supposed to print up the menus for my guests to give to them at the reception and so I called to see if my menu would change depending on what hotel I ended up getting married. Anyway, this is what I heard. Some of it is repeat but I thought you guys may want to know. If your wedding is before Oct 31, 08, they are relocating you and your guests to another hotel. They are making this decision based on how many guests you have coming and which hotel can accommodate them and if you are having children. They said the hotels they are relocating to are equal or better than DT and they are upgrading rooms for guests when possible. If your wedding is Nov 1 and on (mine is Nov they will notify us by/on Oct 20th if they are moving us or not. I assume if your wedding is after Nov 15th, they will give a little more time to make the decision. She also said they will do all the transfering of the guests themselves, so if you are not working with a travel agent, don't worry. They are going to transfer everyone for us. All we need to do is give them a list with our guests names, arrival date and departure date, and reservation #. She asked me to start working on my list in case we have to get moved since it will probably take a few days to get it together. So, I think that if you did not use a TA and you are getting married before Nov 15th, you should start working on your list. I know that it was helpful for me to hear this and I hope this helps some of you. Still crossing my fingers that it is fixed by the end of this month...

Carina, I know this sucks for all of us... I'm sure you will find another really pretty spot to take cool pics... all of these hotels have their own "special" thing so we are just swapping one great thing for another.... we gotta hope for the best and keep our heads up

I will try to get a hold of RJ & Stephanie to find out what time they are getting married and where. Glad to know there is an inside option that my FI is completely set on. So frustrating to not know where I'm getting married! I really really appreciate your help.
