I think I would go with it too. It obviously meant something to him, otherwise he wouldn't have picked it.

Besty, After your previous thread....I would agree with you! Right on sister!

My FI's mother is a huge weirdo. I am almost dreading that she is coming to San Diego for our wedding because I know she will annoy the crap out of everyone. She is really really socially akward and makes it so uncomfortable! It's hard to explain her...should I give my family a heads up? I feel like she is going to be a huge tag-along!
-
I get irritated with my FI too because sometimes I feel like he doesn't EVER think about the wedding! I feel like I think about it 24/7 and when I come up with what I think is a great idea...he doesn't like it! So then I get mad and yell at him, then he gets mad back and says, "You ask me what I think and when I tell you, you get mad!" But I swear 95% of the things I have shown him...he says he doesn't like! I told him that I understand that he doesn't like some things, but he could at least have an alternate idea/option to put on the table! Grrr...MEN!!!

I am having the same dilemma. However, I think I am going to go ahead with the invitations for the AHR, however they aren't going to be your typical "formal" wedding invitations. Instead, I think I am just going to get either wedding stationary or some type of party stationary and just print the script myself. Check out sites like eInvite - Browser Detection and www.papersource.com. They have some nice stationary for really cheap. Then for reply cards, I plan on just making reply postcards since postage is cheaper for postcards and you don't have to worry about the cost of the extra envelope. What type of reception are you having at home? Formal? Informal?

Bad news just flew into town... *UPDATED*
thomastaci22 replied to StephanieMN's topic in Just venting or funnies
I know how you feel about having to tell your mom that her to-be husband isn't allowed at your wedding. I am in a very similar, yet different, situation. My parents divorced about 4 years ago (very, very ugly...cheating involved). Well, my dad has since remarried the woman who was involved in the divorce (if you know what I mean). Well, my mom is still very bitter and hurt about the whole thing (rightfully so). My mom and I have an awesome relationship and I know how much it would kill her if this other woman was at my wedding. So I had to tell my dad that I am not comfortable with having his wife at my wedding (my sister had to do the same thing in July). I can't really tell someone that they can't come to San Diego, so she is going to be there, just not at the wedding. Part of me feels like "who cares if she is there?" but I know that my mom does and I WILL NOT have my mom upset at me on my wedding day. I know that it is ineviatble that she will be around at some point, but is it fair to me and my FI for that first time to be our wedding? I don't think so. I hope that your situation works out as best as it can. My dad was pretty understanding and never pulled the whole "Well then I won't be there." I only hope that your mom can be understanding...especially since it seems that he doesn't want any part of getting to know you guys!! -
I am a Wellness Center Manager in Corporate Fitness. Basically I work with Anthem (yes, the insurance) employees here in their office buildings. We have fitness facilities in house for them and they come to work out on their lunch breaks, before work, after work, whenever! I teach group fitness classes, personal train, exercise prescriptions, fitness assessments, etc...great job!

Rehearsal Dinner in Pacific Beach
thomastaci22 replied to thomastaci22's topic in Southern California Weddings
Great! Thanks! -
Hey Tami. i am in the fitness field and deal with muscle soreness everyday of MY life, let alone, hearing about all my members' soreness after I work them out. What kind of things did you do the day before you notice the pain? Have you changed anything else about your daily activity, outside of your exercise? For example, have you been painting, moving, extra stressed, changed cars, driving more? I am just trying to think of things that I have experienced in causing back pain in the past. What kind of pain is it? Where does it start/end? Does it hurt all the time or just when you do certain things?

Hey girls! We are getting married in La Jolla, however we are all staying in Pacific Beach. I am wondering if anyone knows of a place that we can all (25 people) go for dinner the night before as a very informal rehearsal dinner. I am thinking about maybe seeing if we can reserve the rooftop of Taylor's, but I thought I would pick your brains! Any suggestions would be great!

OOT Bags, anyone ever used these
thomastaci22 replied to nueland's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Yeah I know they aren't the biggest ones out there. But I am not planning on having any huge items in my OOT bags. I would love to do towels, and all that, but the budget just isn't there for all of those things. Depending on the price you get with Dharma, I may order those...I would only need about 20. Let me know on the price if you call them. -
OOT Bags, anyone ever used these
thomastaci22 replied to nueland's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I found a couple other OOT bags options that I am considering. I am not looking to spend a huge amount on the bags themselves (we are on a pretty tight budget). Here is the link to one of them:Shop for Flip Flop Canvas Tote Bag, Best Sellers. Plus tons of other stunning Best Sellers party supplies, favors, and decorations. The other one is in the destination-romance catalog, but I can't find it online. They are just horizontally striped bags and are $16.95 for 12 bags (assorted colors). Does anyone know anything about either of these products? -

Show us your wedding dress!
thomastaci22 replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Here is my dress. You can't see the bottom of it, but it has the same band of beadwork at the very bottom. I am going to have the seamstress pinch the middle of the top, to create more of a sweetheart neckline. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Catalog - EnvogueBride.com Style 3641...type it in the search box -

OOT Bags, anyone ever used these
thomastaci22 replied to nueland's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I actually saw those a few weeks ago and am thinking of using them as well! What a coinky-dink! Let me know how they turn out! -
This is what I wrote for our wedding webpage. Milford, Ohio is a suburb of Cincy where we both grew up. HOW WE MET Josh and I met in high school. We knew each other well throughout our 4 years at Milford High (I had a HUGE crush on him!), however it wasn't until our Senior year that we started dating. Josh sat in front of me in Mr. Trout's Pre-calc class and when I was on crutches after ACL surgery, he carried my tray through the lunch line for me (although I think he did it so he didn't have to stand in line!). That was the beginning of our story together. We were high school sweethearts and stayed together through the beginning of our Freshman year, when he went to Wittenberg University and I went to Ohio Northern University. New friends and new environments came between us and we split up for 5 years. About 2 years ago, I ran into one of Josh's friends in Milford and asked for his cell phone number. About a month later, I received an email from Josh, telling me that he was getting ready to graduate from Fire Academy that week. I managed to get the guts to call him the night before his graduation and we talked for two and a half hours! However, it wasn't for another month that we got to see each other (I was in Toledo, he was in Cincinnati). We met in Dayton at my friend Carissa's house and spent the evening laughing and getting to know each other again. By that time, we had both already fallen back in love with each other and from that night on, I knew this was the man I was going to marry. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED May 20, 2007 HOW IT HAPPENED Josh and I bought a house in Milford the week before we got engaged. With my sister getting married just a few months from then, I thought for sure that he would wait until that passed before he proposed. However, the Sunday after we bought the house, Josh wanted to go "look around at some stuff outside." So we drove over there and were walking around looking at the deck, pool, landscaping, etc. We were walking up the front sidewalk and I kept blabbering on about the flowers and what I wanted to do with the landscaping. I was walking in front of Josh, when he said, "Stac, I don't know if I really want to buy a house with my girlfriend." Well, I turned around as fast as I could and said ,"WHAT!?!?!?!" Well, my anger immediately turned to shock when I saw Josh on his knee right in front of our front door. Then he said, "I would rather buy a house with my fiance...will you marry me?" Once I picked my jaw up from the ground, I of course said "YES!!" After I calmed down a bit, Josh then told me that the center diamond in my ring was my grandmother's diamond from her engagement ring. It was the most perfect proposal and is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen!

Thanks for all the welcoming messages! We are getting married at Scripps Park at 11:00 in the morning...so I am hoping that the "marine layer (?)" is gone by then. Then, we are having a reception at George's at the Cove in La Jolla. We are staying in Pacific Beach at the Pacific Shores Inn...does anyone know anything about this? It looks decent online and I have been very impressed with their customer service and the group rate that we got. I know it's not a 5 star hotel, but I just hope that it is not a total dump! Also, we are looking for somewhere to have our "rehearsal dinner" Thursday night. I was thinking Taylor's in PB?? We ate there when we were there on vacation a few years ago. I think it would be really cool if we can make reservations for the rooftop...anyone have any suggestions?

I am getting married at Scripp's Park in La Jolla. It is on top of a cliff right on the coast...beautiful! Our reception will be at George's at the Cove right after the ceremony. We went through a company called "San Diego Destination Weddings" and they have been wonderful so far! Their website is sandiegodestinationweddings.com and you can go there and look at all of the different locations they had done weddings in the past. Here is the place we are getting married: http://sandiegodestinationweddings.c...rippspark.html Scroll to the bottom and click on the pictures under "Ellen Browning Scripps Park"
