  1. Hi ladies; Looks like I haven't been on here in over a year, wow how time flies. My hubby and I are planning on finally taking our honeymoon this Christmas- we don't really know where we want to go but we know that we don't want to go to the Mayan Rivera again [my husband has been there numerous times and would like to try something new]. So, I came to this place [because you all rock] to see where you all suggest since we have all researched so many places for weddings/honeymoons already. Here is what we are looking for: excursions 4+ star all inclusive resort on the beach great sand, great beach snorkeling needs to be available honey package It can be anywhere, just not in the Mayan Rivera. Thanks!!!! ~~
  2. Thanks for your suggestions. We went and put our name on a raincheck list for a breadmaker because our two stores, where we have gift cards for, are completely sold out. It will be really exciting waiting for it to come!!!! ~~
  3. Go to Xe-hal. We went there for a day and we could have gone for more. It has amazing snorkelling, it is stunning, and we absolutely loved the view of everything. The park is huge so you can do almost anything there. We suggest going early in the day, we arrived at 8:30 a.m. right when it opened and there was hardly anyone else there for like 2 hours. It was great. ~~
  4. Thanks so much!!!! I'm having such a hard time finding reviews on bread-makers, but plenty of yummy recipes. ~~
  5. Amy- you are BY FAR the sexiest vegan!!!! I voted for you!!!! Oh, and I love the fact that you used your BD photo, love it!!!! ~~
  6. Way too cute!!!! I already give to our local humane society, plus, that's where my 4 little cute kitty-cats are from!!!! ~~
  7. Hey man, I would totally do a porn if someone offered me one million dollars. With that money, I would move to Mexico and watch destination weddings all day long from the comfort of a beach chair. Ha!!!! But, on the topic of this lady, I will try not to judge her because I do not have enough information to make a decision. However, with that being said, I think it is "odd" that she would have 8 more babies when she has 6 at home. My question is, being a university student myself, how on earth does she plan on going back and finishing a masters degree, which is very difficult and time consuming, with 14 kids at home. My goodness, getting them all dressed in the morning would take up the entire morning, let alone feeding them lunch, diapers, bath-time, etc. Then attempting to do a research project, thesis journal, and then defending it? Talk about a little bit of stress. Furthermore, being a Canadian, I am not fully aware of the US medical expensives, but who is paying for the babies to be in the hospital right now? Clearly she isn't. Also, on a side note, because I am unable to carry a child to term and have had 4 miscarriages, I am a bit jealous of her being able to carry 8 at once. ~~
  8. We recieved a Black and Decker Bread-maker from our registry as a gift. However, we don't know if it's any good or not. It's a discontinued product, B2something is it's item number. We do have the option to return it and pick out another one [i really want a bread-maker]. I plan on using it a lot, we love home made bread, but I don't want it to crap out on us. Does anyone know if this one is okay, and, if not, which one do you recommend? Thanks!!!! ~~
  9. Our wedding was at 3:15 p.m. and it didn't seem to warm at all. It was a beautiful day. Plus, you must remember that the breeze off of the ocean cools things down a lot. ~~
  10. I agree with IndianBride for the best beach. However, the beaches are all beside each other so people staying at all of the Barcelos' are all over the different beaches. Check out my reviews in wedding reviews for the Colonial, plus my thread on the hints and tips. ~~
  11. Oh, thanks Linsday for the suggestions. I'm totally going to go and check out their websites right now. ~~
  12. We are planning our honeymoon for February 2010 and want to go somewhere in Mexico. But where? We got married at the Barcelo Maya Colonial and I would be more than happy to go back there again, but I want to keep our options open. Where are you going? What made you decide that place? What are you hoping to do on your honeymoon? How different is it planning your honeymoon as opposed to your wedding? ~~
  13. Oh, I forgot to mention that I do hang up dresses and skirts. Plus, I always have an ironing board nearby. ~~
  14. I hear you. Francis and I used to live downtown in a high-rise condo [we live in a very small city so we were able to see the outskirts of town from our view] and we absolutely loved it there. We had a corner unit, so we got great views and could watch the sun rising every morning. However, it was only 900 square feet and we have company from out of town a lot, so it just wasn't working. We ended up buying a brand new townhouse in a new part of town. It's great, big, and once again a corner unit so we have plenty of sunshine. Although, I personally wanted a house, something with a yard where I could garden. I guess I like looking at the housing market to dream and to see if a good deal ever comes up. I did think about becoming a real estate sales person for awhile, but they work long hours and weekends and evenings, and I used to work in retail, so I'm so over that. ~~
  15. Linsday, Francis and I are planning another trip to somewhere in Mexico for this time next year. We both feel madly in love with snorkelling, thanks to Al and Noelle, who are in Cozemel right now, so jealous. Did you know that after spending two weeks at the Colonial they treked over to Cozemel, then are on their way to Peru on Friday? I'm so happy for them that they can do that, they were so excited!!!! ~~
  16. Oh Andrea, how did you like Jamaica by the way? ~~
  17. A late honeymoon sounds great. I think that I might go this weekend to get some travel books. Haha, I find that so funny that other girls are looking for cheap vacations too. I don't find myself so crazy anymore. ~~
  18. Thanks so much. Francis and I had a chat today while picking up some of our gifts from Home Outfitters. We are thinking about going back this time next year as a honeymoon and a one year anniversary trip. We both think that will be very cool. I think that he understands how I'm feeling. He told me that I need to start planning something else, so he told me that I need to look for houses again. As a hobby [how strange is this] I watch the housing market like a hawk here and in the possible locations that we may move to. I can't really renovate too much, we live in a new house. I love gardening, but we don't have a garden, just a little patch out front. We do have plans this spring to make it a rised garden. I guess I just need to find other things to do now, like I really want to start my wedding business. ~~
  19. I have a ton of tips for future brides. I was making them in my head as I went along, but I just never wrote them down. Mind the spelling because I just broke my finger. 1) Bring more than one container of hairspray. I have a lot of hair, more than what people think, and it's curly too. It was lovely down there. Being there for two weeks, I basically went through a can of hairspray in 8 days. I couldn't believe that!!!! But, I used probably 1/2 the can on my wedding day. 2) Only bring the clothes that you know you are going to wear. I packed way too many things. I only wore about 1/4 of my cothes, and I lived in my bikini tops. We did a ton of excursions, so I found that I would want to jump into a cenote or something then walk around. I didn't want to bother changing all the time so I wore a bikini under everything. I only brought 4 bikini tops and two bikini bottoms, which was a mistake. I should have brought more. Plus, when it comes to clothes, bring lots of matching things. I wore a lot of black and white, which was great. 3) Use the landry service at the resort. They get it done in half a day, not 24 hours like what they say. Plus, it is not that expensive. We used it at the beginning of our second week, did probably 3 loads of laundry and it cost us about $30.00 USD, which isn't bad at all. 4) Bring your pashminas!!!! I brought along 5 pairs of pashminas and used them all. They work great for the restuartants, because they are cooler, and the are light enough to for the rest of the evening to keep the chill off. You don't need a sweater at all. 5) Watch out for bats!!!! There are a ton of bats at the Barcelo, which is really cool. Because the Colonial is all open, they swoop in and out of the hallways all the time. We had one little guy that liked us and he spend an entire evening dive-bombing us on our patio; it was awesome. Just remember to keep the patio door closed. 6) The locks on the patio doors have been removed, but there is a huge bolt lock on the top which is more secere than those little door locks. We slept with the screen door open all the time open, so we never ending up locking the patio. 7) Tip the towel girl that comes to your room. I'm all about saving the environment, but the towels do not dry during the day, it's too humid. If you see the towel girl, tip her, she will always come around to you and give you plenty of fresh towels, which, because we did excursions and snorkelled, we took a lot of showers. When at the shopping centre and looking from jelwery, by from Louise. Ask for him, he will give you the best deal ever. He is the manager/owner of three of the four jelwery stores there. Tell him you know us even: we spent probably close to $2000.00 with him. Haha, my fiance loves buying stuff and I love recieving. 9) You need to check out the disco, even just for a laugh. The go-go dancers/ strippers rock. It is very European. 10) Book your restuarants early, as soon as possible. We got stuck with 9:30 p.m. times and it sucked. Also, stay away from the Mexican restuarant. Almost everyone from our group got sick there, plus, the food really sucks and the service is even worse. They forgot about our table, even though we kept asking them for stuff. 11) Drinking. You need to drink in the Peubla Bar in the Colonial. It's the nicest and the most relaxed. Ask for the martini: Lipstick. It's one that my sister made up here is Canada, asked him to make it for her, then our group got hold of it, they starting drinking it, and then other ladies in the bar started ordering it. Literally, it took the Colonial by storm, I heard people talkign about it at another bar. You can only get it at the Colonial Peubla Bar though. Also, if you aren't a martini drinker- order these ones: Francis' drink: margerita on the rocks, so good. Just remember to clarrify if you want it a lime margerita though, because I found that they would make them in an assortment of flavors. My drink: memosa, champagne and orange juice. Yummy!!!! Plus, bring your travel mugs, they work wonders!!!! 12) Eat the nut assortment in the Peubla Bar too. I stay away from nuts most times, and for the first week I did, but the second week I tried it and it was amazing. I was always seen, when I was there, with nuts and a memosa in my hand. 13) Tip!!!! They do not make a lot of money and they basically live off their tips. 14) Take a walk on the beach at night with your hubby. We only did this once and it is one of my best memories of the trip. Lay on a beach chair, look at the stars, soak in the ocean spray, it's amazing. Plus, no one goes on the beach at night, literally, the place shuts down, which is nice because it's fairly busy during the day. 15) Reserve your beach/pool chair early in the morning. I got up at like 6:30 a.m. and took a walk around the resort/beach and saw a lot of people throwing towels over chairs. The place is taken up with towels so finding a great seat is hard during the rest of the day. I did it once, got the best seats for the beach. It worked great. 16) Watch out for the speedos. As I said earlier, there are a lot of Europeans there, so be prepared for speedos and topless women. 17) Don't expect much from the beauty salon hair stylists. They aren't great and my hair fell down within minutes, plus it took almost 2 hours for her to do it. 1 You will get your new wrist band once you meet with your WC, just be sure to remind them about it. Claudia told me that sometimes brides and grooms get it right away, other times, the WC need to go with them to the front desk to get it. Either way, it's so worth it. You get awesome better drinks, internet for free, and some other stuff. Overall, it was well worth it. 19) If you plan on playing in the ocean a lot, buy water shoes. It's very rocky, the waves a forceful, and there is also broken shells on the bottom of it. When we were snorkelling, I got beached and scrapped up my belly because of it. 20) Bring bug spray if your plan on going mini golfing. I never got to it, because I drank too much tequila and passed out by 1:00 p.m. [opps] but my husband and his family went and they got bite by mosquitos. 21) The buffet is amazing at the Colonial. If you eat eggs, and like omletes, I don't, but my husband does, and he says that the omlete lady is the best. She's older, there everyday, and makes the best ones. 22) Even though the resort is suppose to be non-smoking, people smoke everywhere. The Colonial wasn't bad, because it was all open and the smoke just blows out, plus their bar is totally no smoking, so it was nice. However, the Cirbe/ Beach/ and Tropical smelt like smoke. It was gross. 23) Stay at the Colonial. I am not bias because we stayed there, we were originally planning for the Tropical, but we are so happy that we stayed at the Colonial. The Tropical is very similiar, very pretty, but the fountains in it are very loud, so sitting in the lobby was tough. Plus, their bar was very smoky and loud, and I'm not talking about their cigar lounge. The Cribe and and the Beach were both dark, low ceilings, and very very loud and smelly. They have a geat beach, but the hotel lacks for everything else. Plus, the Colonial is the one that is located in the center, so the shopping plaza, mini golf, disco, shows, spa, restuarants, everything is located right there. It's the best. We walked over the the Place and we didn't like it. Once again we found it very loud because of the lounge's location. When we walked on the beach [at night] right in front of the hotel, all we could hear was loud drunk people. The decor is okay, supposedly contemporary, but very European, but dated European. Plus, you pay so much more for it, save the pennies and stay at the more relaxed Colonial. 24) Go with the Ocean Scents package. The upgraded location, meal packages, etc., are well worth it. The meal was fantastic. I will upload some pictures here in a bit. ~~
  20. I don't eat lunch meats or hot dogs, only sausages that are made by our local butcher of a baubau, and thats only on a good day. I'm not surprized that there is another recall, I kind of feel sorry for maple leadf. We were camping while the first outbreak occured and we watched the guy from maple leaf on tv and he was very upset that it was happening. What sucks is that it is happening. I just hope that they never recall bacan, especially canadian maple bacon from maple leaf. Mmmm, bacon. ~~
  21. Thanks Abbie so much for sharing your story. It helps knowing that someone else went through something similiar. ~~
  22. We got back from our wedding/vacation on Sunday and I ever since then I have been feeling very blue. Maybe it's because I have my friend, maybe it's because it's been blizzarding since we got back and it's -37 with the windchill today, but whatever it is, I'm feeling very sad. Our wedding was great, it was the best moment of my life. The week afterwards, which was suppose to be our honeymoon, wasn't. We spent it with family the entire time on excursions, and eating supper with them for all the nights but two. It wasn't what Francis and I agreed to prior to leaving for Mexico, but he booked things like that anyway. We only got to spend a few hours, in total, on the beach and half a day on Saturday by ourself. I really wanted the last week to be more Francis and me, but that didn't happen, and I was very hurt by that, and so we did spend the moments that we were alone, bickering with each other. I felt like he didn't want to spend alone time with me, doing what "honeymooners" should be doing, nor did he care enough to do some of the things I wanted to do, like hanging out on the beach or just being the two of us for a bit. In fact, we had a bottle of champagne in our room that we never drank. It really felt like our honeymoon started the day before we left because that was the day that we had time to spend doing things that we wanted to do. Francis even admitted that day that he shouldn't have booked us up for the entire week because he really enjoyed his time too. I just feel like shit. I'm really hurt by how things played out and I don't want to be. I don't want to think back about our fighting, about not having fun, and being stressed out because I couldn't even spend 2 hours alone with my husband. We have talked about going somewhere else here, but we really can't afford it because we spent a lot of money and the economy sucks. Plus, I'm sad because now I feel like a have an emptiness here. My craft area is bare, I don't have anything to make, and that feeling of "looking forward" to the wedding is over. Can I have a few suggestions from past brides on how you handle this? Thanks!!!! ~~
  23. Well, our wedding trip to Barceló was amazing. Through the whole trip there were a lot of ups and downs, a bit of drama, a heck of a lot of drinking and a ton of tears. There was a lot of laughter, sunburns, almost drowning(s), people throwing up over sides of boat, others passing out from too much tequila in the afternoon [me], an accident resulting in surgeries in Cancun, losing wedding bands and sunglasses in the ocean, breaking cameras and being attacked by bats; basically needing a holiday from the holiday. Overall though, I could not ask for a better wedding/honeymoon/trip. Well, sort of. We are going to be taking another honeymoon by ourselves for reasons that I will get to later on. Barcelo Colonial- I would totally recommend getting married at this resort. We got the Ocean Scents package and we are so happy that we got the more expensive package. The meal was absolutely amazing and the location was stunning. Unfortunately, it rained during set-up so we had to have it in Captain Morgan's Grill, but even so, it was better than a second option, it was great. We weren't disappointed. The WC's are absolutely great and answered all the questions that I had. Initially, when we first arrived, we didn't get the VIP braclets that granted us the better drinks and access to the different longues. However, once we met Claudia, she walked with us to the front desk and got us our bracelets. The better drinks were great and made us feel special. I brought a lot of decorations and stuff with us for the reception and ceremony and I wanted it to be a certain way. Our wedding was a bigger one, and because we brought so much and wanted everything to be a certain way, I made certain to write out directions for everything. I even made a point of telling them where I wanted the the menues to go, the programs, and how to place the fans and tears of joy packages on the chairs. I thought that I was being very anal, but in fact, I am so happy that I did. Our WC Claudia had an assistant, and that assistant had assistants, so they were going over the instructions without having to bother Claudia with questions. In fact, Victoria, Claudia's assistant, thanked me afterwards for having the instructions because it helped her out so much. Writing things out also kept them from asking me a lot of questions, so everyone knew exactly what was going on. The few cons of Colonial- The Spa- I sat in the spa for almost 2 hours getting my hair done for wedding, which didn't work at all. She couldn't get it right even though she had pictures and I had my pocket Spanish book. When we got back to the room to get ready, the bobby pins fell out so I had to re-do it very quickly. I didn't know what my hair actually looked like at the back until I saw wedding pictures the next day. Then, it rained right after my ceremony, so we had photos in the rain. Then, instead of relaxing between the ceremony and the reception, Francis, myself, and our photographer went back to our room and re-curled my hair. On that note, I would probably get my hair done agian though, but earlier in the day so that I could re-do it at the room. Our bar fridge was only stocked about 4 times in 2 weeks. We complained a lot to the front desk, then they would send up a maid with two bottles of water, which is a far cry from the snacks, beer, and water that should be in there. Plus, we only got coffee cups on the first day, the maid took them away to be washed, and they never returned. We had to drink our coffee out of drinking glasses. Our room also wasn't cleaned on a regular bases and the maid had a tendency to arrive at around 9:30 p.m. to clean the room, once walking in on me sleeping and the other time when we were sitting on the patio. However, with that being said, these are only minor issues that didn't really cause much concern other than being something to complain about. In fact, my parents, who were down the hall, always had their room clean with little towel creatures left on their bed every morning and their fridge was always stocked. So, I think it's just who's on shift for your area. The resturuants were not that good at all. They were very hit and miss. We very much enjoyed the Japenesse resturuant, but all the rest weren't anything special. At the Italian one my Calzone came raw, then came back burnt. At the Mexican we were forgotten about, taking nearly 2 hours to get served. Over all, the resturants seem very disorganized. Plus, you need to book them as soon as possible. We ate way too many suppers at 9:30 p.m. which is way too late for me. Plus, it really cuts into evening plans. In all reality, the buffet was amazing, so I would have been more than happy to eat there for supper for the majority of the nights. We never went to any of the shows, but our guests did and loved them all. The disco is a place that you need to experience. Oh my goodness, they have dancers that jump up on the tables; it looks like a strip bar. The music was about 10 years old and there are a lot of Europeans in there. It was a fun experience, we went 3 times in total, I think. The beach is stunning, but very rocky. In front of the Colonial/ Tropical is very rough waves and lots of drop-offs. I lost my sunglasses in there, which sucked because they were clip-ons. The beach infront of Cribe/Beach is much better, still rocky but easier on the feet while swimming. We are snorkellers, so we enjoyed the rocks because there were so many fish there. The pier is suppose to be very good for snorkelling and we tried it there. Yes, there were a ton of fish, but there was also a ton of people. Plus, with the crazy waves, I started to get too overwhelmed. We personally liked the coral off the beach because the fish were more relaxed, not a lot of people, and there was a better assortment of fish. The Photographer- Nathalie [once I get her consent to talk about her I will post her information]. We flew her down with us for the first week from Saskatoon. The poor thing was fighting the stomach flu and still managed to do tons of shots. We don't have her pictures yet, but can't wait to see them. She went above and beyond what any photographer would do. Not only does she take amazing photos, but she is an amazing person, a great personality, and a wonderful friend. I could not imagine anyone else sharing our special moments with us other than Nathalie. She was there for me when I needed her and she even did my hair for me when my curls fell out after the rain!!!! Our detailed trip Firstly, I ran out of time before leaving Regina because of a series of unfortunate incidents in the beauty department. My hair stylist and I had a miscommunication moment resulting in my hair becoming purple and a loss of half an eyebrow two days before we left. I ended up having to spend an additional half a day in the salon getting my hair re-dyed to the colour that I wanted and an eyebrow pencil to fix the problem. Needless to say, I lost a lot of time for the “last minute†things, resulting that I did not sleep at all the night before we left. When we arrived at Barceló Colonial, we were greeted by amazing welcome cocktails and a fabulous lobby. The Colonial is an absolutely stunning resort, far greater than any of the other Barcelós. By far, the Colonial exceeded all of my expectations for appearances. The first week was very busy, we spent a lot of it getting ready for the wedding and socializing with our guests. It seemed like we were never alone during the first week, which was fine, but it was very busy. Welcome Cocktail We had our Welcome Cocktail in the Puebla Bar, the bar that is located in the Colonial lobby; on the Monday [Francis and I arrived on the Sunday]. This was one of the best things that we could have planned. Most of our guests arrived at different times and from different departure places, so it only made since considering that no one knew where anyone was. I ended up sending down the welcome bags, contents, decorations, etc. with family so on the Sunday after arriving, I had to attempt to gather everything up from everyone. We needed to meet with our WC at 11:00 a.m. on Monday; our cocktail was for 3:00 p.m. My two sister-in-laws, my Mother-in-law, and my eldest sister came to the rescue and put together our welcome bags, which was amazing. However, I had like 20 minutes to unpack everything, show them what goes in which bags, and to gather the things I needed to meet the WC. Talk about multi-tasking. After meeting the WC, Claudia, we knew that we were in great, experienced hands. Claudia asked a ton of questions, allowed us to ask questions, and knew what I was talking about in my ramblings when even I started to confuse myself. We got back to the room and phoned for a bellboy to take down our bags to the bar because we had over 25 bags and each bag was about 7 pounds, depending on what was in it. Well, the bellboy never showed up. We called 4 times, and they just kept telling us someone was going to come. We were already 10 minutes late by this point, so we carried them down ourselves, all at once. I got about halfway, my arms were about to fall off, so Fran went ahead and brought back some cousins to carry them the rest of the way. Once we got there, we all sat in a big circle and we had everyone introduce themselves: who they are, where they are from, what they do, and how they know us. It was a lot, but it worked very well and there was a lot of humour in it. We also told them were to go for the ceremony and reception and about our online photo sharing site. The Accident Within 24 hours of being at the Barceló, one of our guests slipped on a wet spot outside of an elevator. She ended up fracturing her wrist and shattering her hip, needed two surgeries. However, after arriving in Cancun, the hospital wouldn’t operate on her because they did not have her blood type, O negative. In fact, for some reason, Cancun couldn’t get any of that blood and Canada would not fly any down. Our guest spent 5 days without her surgeries and could not travel back to Canada because they thought that she had a blood clot. Finally, we were granted permission to put up signs at the Transat desk asking for O negative blood from other guests. We managed to find someone who went to Cancun to give her a transfusion. She arrived back in Canada the following Tuesday and is doing great. Our Planned Group Excursion The majority of us are avid fishermen, so it was a given that the planned excursion would be deep-sea fishing. We planned it for the Wednesday, the day before our wedding. Things started out great; everyone was having fun, except for Fran’s two cousins who were suffering from the tail-end of food poisoning. We were about 45 minutes into it when three people: my Dad, Francis, and the photographer, Nathalie, started to not feel very good. All of a sudden, my Dad started dry heaving and bolted for the side of the boat, feeding the fishes. I have absolutely no stomach for puke, so I turned green and tried to keep down my own cookies. Then, Francis looked at me, sweat pouring out of him, and said that he was going to be sick too. Nathalie and I looked at each other and decided that we needed to turn the boat around and let off the sick people, including me. So, the captain, full speed, drove back to dock and we got off, while the rest went on to fish. Needless to say, we won’t be doing that again. The Wedding Day Francis and I plus his Mom and two sisters spent the night before getting our Pashminas ready, gluing starfish to fans, and [cough cough] writing our vows to each other. I had dropped off my wedding dress, undergarments, and hair piece at my parents room and my Mom told me that she would met up with me at my hair appointment, and we would go back together to her room to get ready and to get photos done. That morning, after a restless sleep, we went to get our massages done. They were okay, but I was too stressed to really enjoy it. I know Francis really liked it. Once we were done, it was 12:00 p.m. and Francis got his first manicure done. My hair appointment was at 1:00 p.m. so I went back to the hotel room to shower and shave before my hair appointment. Little did I know that my Mom forgot my hair flower in her room so I had to go back to get. Not a big deal since their room was down the hall from us, but she didn’t have a key, my Dad had it. My Dad, however, was no where to be found. He was supposed to be outside the spa, but he wasn’t. I was running out of time so I went back to my room to shower and hoped that he would be back in his room when I was done. Well, he wasn’t. It was already 1:15 p.m. and I didn’t have my hair flower, which I needed for my hair appointment. Luckily, the maid was cleaning their room and I managed to tell her that I was the bride and I needed in there to get my stuff. I don’t think she understood but she let me in anyway. I sent Nathalie over to get pictures of Francis opening up his gift from me, which was a sliver chain. By this time, my sisters had shown up, but no Mom or Dad, so I had no access to the room where my wedding dress was. So, it was 3:00 p.m. and I needed to go. My hair was a mess and Mom and I got a lift back to our room by Claudia. So, we got there about 3:10 p.m., five minutes before the wedding is suppose to start. It was 3:15 p.m. Wedding time. I was putting on my make-up in the room. It literally took me 5 minutes, I was so fast!!!! I gave my parents their gift, vice versa. Victoria, another WC came to the room to take me away, because we were late, then, my bobby pins, almost all at once, popped out of my hair and the my style fell out. Victoria, Nathalie and me started pulling bobby pins out of everywhere, pinning my hair back, and hair spraying everything in place. Then, my Mom came at me with a veil, which was quickly pushed away because I didn’t want to wear it in the first place. So, now it’s about 3:30 p.m. and I’m late for my own wedding. Finally, we arrive, I see my groom standing there and it’s heaven. The best moment of my life. After the ceremony, it started to rain so we had to move the ceremony in Captain Morgan’s Grill. We ran over time, so we ended up having to pay for an additional hour, but it was well worth it. The Reasoning for Another Honeymoon Francis and I decided to go for two weeks, primarily because we wanted the second week to be just us, with a few excursions and suppers with the remaining family members and friends that were there for the second week. Well, I left the bookings for the excursions and suppers with him, while I went and took 10 minutes to myself. It was Sunday. Well, he booked us from Monday to Friday for excursions and supper every night but Saturday with them. I was very upset. I assumed from that [even though we had discussed for a year the purpose of the second week] as a personal attack to us and that he didn’t want to have “romantic alone time†with me. Plus, he left me absolutely no time to do homework, which has placed a major strain on me for stress. I was very hurt by this, and felt like he didn’t really care. When we did have an hour to by ourselves, we ended up bickering and me bawling. In addition to having no alone time, we never did anything around the resort, I only spent probably four hours total on the beach, the only time that I sat at the swim up bar was to get someone else a drink when I was practicing snorkelling, and I was only in the pool twice, once for the trash the dress, the other time was when we were snorkelling [which I did get to swim around for a bit after snorkelling]. We only took one evening stroll on the beach alone. We even had a bottle of champagne in our room that never got drank. I was very upset by this, and I still am, but I’m attempting to not let it get to me anymore. We managed to switch two meals to be by ourselves, so that was a plus. We have decided that we are going to go somewhere else for a honeymoon, but we have to pay off the wedding first. We are just going to wait a little bit before fully deciding where to go and when. Even with that though, I had an excellent time and am so happy right now. Well, except for the snow and the cold and the homework and the cold and the snow. ~~
