  1. Hmmmm, not sure. When I read it in The Knot's bio, she said that it was her first initial inside his initial. Oh well. Their wedding was very pretty. It would have been really neat on the farm like how he wanted. Very classic, instead they went contemporay. If we were getting married here, we would have done a winter wedding at around 5:30p.m. just when the sun was setting. ~~
  2. I just found their wedding on The Knot Pick. I don't want to sound like a bag, but they copyrighted their logo? That is just crazy. ~~
  3. Are you serious? Wow, I need to find the link to see that one. I applied today to be on Bulging Brides, but don't think that I will get on. I haven't seen RBPB in awhile just because how crazy the people are. There was one episode that the girl wanted a bus to carry her people in it, and her fiance said no, but she got it anyway. Man, that would be the day. ~~
  4. I remember watching that episode a while back with the bride who punched a hole in her bathroom wall, that was priceless. If I ever did that, my fiance would kick me out. I used to TIVO that show, but stopped now because the people are just nuts on it. I would be so embarrassed if I was recorded for millions to see acting like that. I watch Wedding SOS because it's about people who "forget" about stuff for their wedding and have no budget left for it, so that, I can relate too. Plus Jan Dayus Hinch is so cute. I want her to be our wedding planner. Did anyone see that episode of RBPB with the princess groom? He was insane, I could barely sit through that show. He even looked at his fiance's wedding gown to see if it was up to his standards. Luckily though, she knew that he would do that, so she bought an ugly one to mess with his head. ~~
  5. Hi Carie, We went with the Ocean Scents package because we really wanted the reception on the beach and they had the best menu. You have a choice of white, navy blue, or red linens, round tables [that seat 7-9 people] or a really long table. The centerpieces that they supple are lanterns with fruit around them, they are cute. Or, you can pick flowers that are the same as your bouquet, but it costs more. Here are some pictures. ~~
  6. I have 6 pink parasols for sale. I bought them from another bride a long time ago, thought that I would use them, but decided to just go with white instead. They are in good condition, they have been used, so there are a few tiny little holes in three of them, but nothing too crazy, but I have attached pictures of those. I will also throw in a fuschia fuschia one, with a larger hole in it [ I did that one, I opened it beside a chair and punched a hole in it, opps]. It would be nice for a background picture or to give to a little girl or something. I'm asking $40.00 for all six, I paid close to $70.00 for all of them. I'm attaching pictures of them. You can see the little hole in this one, but that's the biggest one [except for the fuschia one ofcourse]. Here is one with another hole in. This is the fuschia one, LoL. Thanks!!!! ~~
  7. I know it gets so complicated. I'm having that issue right now because I'm buying lingerie as well, and the shipping is ridiculous. But I'm not about to go and buy it from a store, that's highway robbery!!!! ~~
  8. Hi Girls!!!! I'm getting married at the Colonial on February 12th 2008. Our WC is Claudia and she is very good to work with. It takes her a few days to get back to us, but she does answer all of our questions that we have. We have found that there is a language barrier, so we cannot be too "wordy" when we ask them. We are having our ceremony at 3:00p.m., then the reception will be at 6:00p.m. on the beach, leaving us 3 hours for photos to be taken. We are bringing down our own paper lanterns to hang around the tables, we are having the round tables with white linens. We are also bringing down our own chair sashes that we will use during our ceremony then they will be transfered to the reception. For our centerpieces, we didn't like what the Barcelo offered, and when we asked Claudia how much the centerpieces that we wanted would cost [palm leaves in simple vases] they were $250.00 American each- and we need about 12!!!! So, no thank you. Instead, we are going to go into Playa Del Carman a few days before hand, to get a few remainders for the OOT bags, but we are also going to get artefacts or unique items to place on the tables as the centerpieces. Then, we are bringing candles from home to add light to the tables, just a mixture of different types. We will be sticking an arrow underneath the centerpieces, pointing towards a seat, and who ever is sitting in that spot will get to take home that centerpiece. We are going to be having a welcome cocktail on the Tuesday that we arrive, so that our guests can "meet and great" each other. That is when we will be also handing out the OOT bags. Other than that, we aren't planning anything else, letting our guests plan their own vacation. However, we want to charter a boat for some deep sea fishing, but I don't even know how or where to start with that. Oh, we are also bringing down our photographer with us, she is amazing. We are letting her lead us for the TTD, because she has done it down there once before. I look forward to chatting with all you ladies!!!! ~~
  9. That sucks dude, I'm feel bad for you. I would follow the advise of the previous poster by asking to speak to her supervisor and explain what is going on. Remember to keep your cool though when you do speak to the supervisor, because she will probably want to defend her employee and might attempt to brush you off as a bridezilla. Luckily though, you still have plenty of time. Best of luck to you!!!! ~~
  10. I'm just worried about ordering shoes online without trying them on first. Darn it, why didn't I buy some last summer? How could I forget about shoes? LoL. Seriously, other than my hiking shoes and two pairs of Merrels sandals, I have zero shoes that I'm bringing down. I don't have any beach flip flops, nothing. Like I have old pairs, but they are what I do my gardening in. ~~
  11. I knew that I was forgetting to buy something last summer!!!! I didn't remember to buy my wedding day shoes, opps!!!! Now, trying to find sandals, specially white pretty ones in winter in the middle of Saskatchewan is next to impossible. I'm starting to get a little bit worried, so I'm turning to trusty ebay. The thing is, I know nothing at all about shoes. I'm either el cheapo from Walmart or the comfort from Merrells. Can someone recommend a good online shoe store, or ebay site, or whatever? Thanks!!!! ~~
  12. Oh those are so cute!!!! I'm buying Francis a tily hat. ~~
  13. Hi everyone, I haven't been online for close to three weeks because I have been so busy with the end of the University semester. My finals are next week, thankfully. Anywho, I think that I lost my brain somewhere in an essay and cannot remember how to group my monogram together. I don't have time, unfortunately right now to mess around with it, because I have a final on Monday, and two more next Wednesday, so I really need to study. Plus, I have my marking to do- I'm a TA at the University as well. I really need to get it done here quick so that I can ship it off to Discount Mugs to get our travel mugs. I can get everything together but my "&" and my palm tree, they are not wanting to play nice. I'm attaching the document, it's in WORD, and if someone can help me with it, you will be my biggest hero in the land of wedding planning. Thanks in advance!!!! ~~ francisandheatherweddingmonogram.doc
  14. Oh, they are so cute. We are no longer doing normal centerpieces- so this might be the perfect accent to our "gift" centerpieces. ~~
  15. I just saw that you are getting married at the Occidental!!!! That was our second choice, and it was a tough decision between the Barcelo and the Occidental. The only reason why we choose the Barcelo over he Occidental was because of the beach. You are going to have so much fun!!!! We plan on going to the Occidental when it's just the two of us for a holiday. ~~
  16. Oh that sounds exciting. What are your wedding colours? ~~
  17. I know, but, I'm trying not to let it get the best of me, no matter what the centerpieces will be, it will still be really nice. Francis and I were just chit-chatting and we think that we might have come up with a fun solution. We are planning on going into Playa Del Carmen when we arrive, and visiting their strip of local shoppes and vendors. We are hoping that we might come across 8 to 9 unique and interesting artefacts that could then be used as centerpieces. Then, we will have a fun little draw at the end of our reception for each table [1 centerpiece per 7 people per table] and whom ever wins the draw, gets to take home that artefact as a gift. I know if might cost a little bit extra, but I think that it would be fun. Then, we can still have candles and such to give off light. What do you think about this idea? ~~
  18. Both my fiance are afraid of colour, so we are just doing plain white. LoL. I'm thinking that maybe we will buy some LED Christmas lights and string the lanterns through them. Just need to email my WC and see if this is possible. LoL. ~~
  19. We have started receiving wedding gifts in the mail in forms of cheques. They are not post-dated, and made out to either Francis or myself. Our question: when do you cash them? Do we wait until after the wedding [three months]? We are fine with this, but are concerned that maybe people would not have budgeted for the cheque coming out of their account so late, so it might go NSF or place them in a fininical hardship. Or, right before we leave so that the money can be in our account for Mexico? Or, after the wedding? However, I assume that we send out the thank you card right away, no matter if we cash it right away or not, correct? ~~
  20. Well I'm lost and confused. Ha ha!!!! Claudia emailed me back and for centerpieces that we wanted [plam leaves with tall vases] it would cost us about $350.00 american each centerpiece. Yikes!!!! So, I got some emails back from florists and they are asking over $1000.00 for minimum. I'm not to impressed. The Barcelo is charging an arm and a leg for the wedding package but then offer these crappy little candles with cut fruit around them. I'm debating about just bringing down some candles and such, but I have no idea. I'm thinking that [maybe] because it will be dark out, and my guests will have lots of drinks in them, the candle and the fruit will look nice? Plus, on a bright side, I guess we are saving some money? ~~
  21. I want to order my paper lanterns for our wedding, but I'm uncertain about which size to order. What is the size that other ladies bought for their lanterns that they hung at their wedding? This is the area of where I'll be stringing my lanterns from. I'm thinking 16 inch, but I have no idea? ~~
