  1. Great review Amy!!! So happy things went so well! Everything looked great - can't wait to see pro pics! Question - how many tables did you have at your reception? I love that your dancing area was in the center of the room, but not sure if we can have that for ours since we have 8 60" tables....?
  2. i totally made an event of reading your review - i made myself a snack, but on some christmas music and sat back to devour every detail - THANK YOU!!! now for my question - how much did it cost to have the ceiling of the Seaside Grill draped in that fabric and does Landy still have that fabric? i so wanted to do this, but never got a response from Landy on it...
  3. i went for another fitting today and i have to say - i'm not all jumping around excited about my dress. i think its beautiful and i think i look good in it (link to thread with pics below)...i'm just not getting that feeling. so i'm wondering if i'm weird or if some people just don't get that feeling until they put their dress on on their wedding day. i'd love to hear that i'm pretty normal, but will understand if you tell me i'm not! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31424
  4. has anyone used the resort DJ recently? we were told to send a song list ans since I've spent so much time putting it together i am now very determined that all the songs get played. i'm concerned that the DJ won't have some/be unable to download them so just wondering what others have experienced.... Thanks!
  5. YAY Amy - so happy for you...and now so excited for my own wedding at DT! And wow, ladies....page 100 in six months! we are busy bees!!!
  6. it'll be fine - white, off-white, diamond white, ivory - its all the same color family so nothing is going to clash. can't say the shades will match exactly, but it won't look funny. no worries!
  7. well, we have 60 guests coming to our wedding and want to give them all the option of going, so renting a shuttle is our only option. we're staying at Dreams Tulum and we have some young and old folk in our group, so we won't be spending time at Tulum Beach as its difficult to get to - we'll just head back to our resort for that. So just wondering how much time is needed to explore the ruins and check things out and from what was said, pehaps 2 hours is plenty of time...?
  8. I'm trying to book shuttle service for a trip to the Tulum Ruins, but don't know how long we'll want/need at the ruins. Was thinking 3 hours door-to-door from DT...does that sound right? I don't know how big the area is so its hard to judge how long we'll need to explore the area... Anyone who has been there before, would appreciate your thoughts/advice! TIA

(I'm also wondering about a cigar roller, so if you happen to see one there at night during your visit, let me know)
  10. just catching up on the last few pages of the chat and saw that someone was asking about moving the "gazebo" further down the beach. i asked this when i was there last summer because i wanted it to be more private, as well. unfortunately, the gazebos (on both ends of the beach) are anchored into the ground and cannot be moved. bummer, but don't worry too much because there are ways to make sure no one is right on top of you. i've specifically asked (and Landy agreed) to move the beach chairs further away...we'll just have our own stuff on those specific chairs that day so its not like they have to kick people off of them, just our stuff.
  11. there are 2 or 3 in my area and I'm planning on shopping this weekend so I'm happy to look for you. just PM me the barcode and description...
  12. we're using The Wedding Song for the parents and grandparents seating and then my bridesmaids and then me and my dad will all walk to the instrumental You're So Cool by hans zimmer (from true romance)...i think it has a great beachy feel. still working on what to play for the recessional...probably something by the beatles. and then there's the music for dinner and then for dancing, I need to get working on that!!!
  13. anyone placing bets yet on whether she's preggers...can't image why else she'd marry him - gross gross gross!!!
  14. You can TOTALLY do it! You just have to have a little faith at first when you aren't seeing results that eventually they'll come so you stick to it. For me, I have to work out hard and diet for a good four weeks with no results and then all of a sudden I start to see the changes (i think in those first few weeks, I'm still losing, but probably from my boobs or my ears or some other unhelpful place!) And get a personal cheerleader!!! Recruit your FI or a friend or someone, someone to cheer you on, ya know? Oh - and don't totally focus on the numbers - use how you feel and how your clothes fit as a gauge for your success Good luck - you can do it!!!
  15. welcome to the forum Vera!!! Congratulations on your engagement
  16. you could have it on the terrace of the ballroom facility. its a really lovely spot and totally private. i think Sunbride posts some pics of it on the first couple of pages... you could probably arrange with Landy & Lizette to have bar set up there
  17. I agree, do what fits in your budget. We bought the groomsmen attire as they are paying for the whole trip on their own. My bridesmaids (my sisters) bought their own dresses because we paid for their flights...
  18. i think its awesome you'll be there together and get to meet up! how fun...don't forget to take pics for us!!! i'm wishing you all tons of great times and AMAZING weddings! can't wait to hear all about it when you get back
  19. Missy - everything looks great! Wishing you a FABULOUS wedding day
  20. oh - and my table overlays and chair bows arrived today from efavormart and wanted to let you know that the colors on the website are pretty true to reality in case anyone is interested/wondering about that... thanks Can't Wait - we're thinking of having the JoP come to our house so our cat eddie can attend (I know that's really weird, but he's so important to us, we're actually sad just thinking about being away from him for our wedding and honeymoon for 3 weeks!)
