    I think the shells will be ok, but just in case I'm bringing extra shells and a hot glue gun. I am doing them around Styrofoam so I think they will give a bit. I am not sure if I am having a bridal party of just a maid of honor, but I will have everyone carry the shell ball.

    We had a private reception, but there was no music, no dance floor. They had us on top of one of the buffets. I'm note sure what she paid though. There were 75 of us.

    How about sealing it though? If you do a top that is small enough for a cork you need a funnel to pour the sand.

    I have been thinking about this too. I'm currently gathering ideas. I decided that I would give everyone a maraca to bring to the ceremony to shake during our first kiss, but I am also putting one or two of these straws for fun. Then I will do aloe and chap stick w/ sunblock and I'm not sure what else.

    I think I get the whole sand ceremony thing. It is like a unity candle, right? I like it either way. Where did you get the sand from though? Did you bring it with you because that is pretty heavy? Also how do you get them back without shifting? Has anyone tried sealing the top with wax? I thought that might keep it tight and sealed. Also are there any Palace(Adventura?, Moon?, etc.) brides who have done this?

    It is such an important part of the ceremony that I wouldn't wear it only because it hasn't been blessed yet. I would put it away for safe keeping!

    I have only been a member since November and I am hooked. Any questions you have post about. These people are amazing!! And I was at a wedding in Rui in Jamaica. I can send you photos. PM(Private Message) me. And check out the abbreviations thread. It really helps!
