  1. Welcome!!! I think Riu Palace is a great choice. I was there in December and everything was great. I just posted some pictures on Cabo forum. Let me know if you have any questions.
  2. Hi Andreaz, I photographed the wedding at the Riu Palace in December and bride and groom had private reception at the Mexican Restaurant - San Jose. You are right - the flowers are only placed on the head table and for the rest of the tables it is just rose petals and menus. I attached some pictures for you so you can get an idea how it looks. I hope it helps.
  3. PM me, I will send you some options. 4. Welcome, relish.77!!! Regarding suggestions where to have your wedding... I would highly recommend- Paradisus Rio de Oro, Holguin, Cuba. It is great 5* resort, but it is now adults only. You might want to consider Playa Pesquero as well if you have children coming to your wedding. I been to Paradisus Rio de Oro and if you have any question I would gladly answer them. If you are considering Dominican Republic - Majestic Colonial resort in Punta Cana is a very popular one. Let me know if I can help.
  5. I finally have all the pictures editted, and I can share them with you. I created a separate thread for this, you can take a look here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12557 I also have more pictures on my website: Destination Wedding in Mayan Riviera, Grand Sirenis and some more info about the wedding and trash the dress photoshoots on my blog: Trash the Dress in Mayan Ruins and Tulum beach Hopefully this will help someone. And if anyone has any questions about the resort or the surrounding area - I will gladly answer them ;-)
  6. Melissa, I already created a thread (in main forum for Mayan Riviera) with some pictures from Grand Sirenis wedding, that happened two days after your friends wedding. Here is the link to that thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12557 Aslo, here is the link to my site where I posted the pictures as well: Destination Wedding in Mayan Riviera. Hotel: Grand Sirenis, Photographer: destination photographer from Toronto - Varia Lebiadzenka Enjoy! ;-))
  7. Hi Monica, I think if your photographer is there as part of the group and staying for the whole week they do not have problem with that. I photographed the wedding at the Grand Bahia Principe -Akumal in January and I was there for the whole week and had no problem shooting. I know it would be the same for the Grand Sirenis, since I will the guest like everybody else. I heard some resorts ask you to pay $500 to bring an outside photographer, some are fine with the day pass. I guess if your wedding coordinator is saying no to outside photographers the only option you got is to have a photographer coming down with you and staying at the Grand Sirenis as a paid guest.
  8. Welcome to the forum! You will definitely get a lot of advice here. 10. Melissa, it is definitely a small world! My friends are flying on Nov 24th to Grand Sirenis from Toronto (departure time is 16:30 pm Air Transat). They decided to join me last minute for my 25th birthday on Nov 25th We will for sure run into each other If your friends are interested in some photography - I am there Varia Toronto Photographer | Destination wedding photography, trash the dress and fashion
  11. I would recommend finding another bride, that is getting married in Punta Cana during the same week - so you can share the cost of bringing a photographer with you. I see a lot of brides getting married at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana in April, check out their group "Majestic Colonial Brides" on facebook.
