  1. I found another photo on the Hilton weddings FAQ section, although it wouldn't let me save the photo...so I attached the link. if you scroll down the page, there's a photo of a gazebo on the beach. i wonder if that's the one... Hilton Los Cabos Weddings
  2. Thanks for your reply. I've never seen the Hilton one...does anyone have a photo of it?
  3. Are there hotels/resorts that limit the number of weddings available on any given day? I'm not sure how I feel about sharing my wedding day...I know that dreams says that your "special time is yours and yours only," but does that mean they block off a certain amount of hours? How does that work? Do the Westin and the Sheraton really limit weddings to one per day? We're most likely getting married this November and I need to hurry up and pick a venue!! (Is November even a busy wedding month?)
  4. Has anyone on the forum gotten married at Dreams but had their private reception elsewhere? If so, where did you have it?
  5. I've asked this question in the Riviera Maya forum, but I'm pretty sure we've narrowed down our wedding to the Cabo area. I don't want to get married on the beach, and I really love the Dreams gazebo. I think I've seen pics of the one at Riu Palace. Does anyone have any pics of other gazebo venues in Cabo?
  6. Your photos turned out amazing! You were seriously a gorgeous bride. Which venue did you have your reception? It looks really fantastic.
  7. So it is possible to have a civil ceremony at the chapels? I just wasn't sure if this was "against the rules" since you'd be in a church and all...
  8. Are chapels available for non-religious ceremonies at the resorts? I love the Dreams Tulum and El Dorado Royale chapels, and am wondering if its possible to have a civil ceremony at the chapel. Is it completely unheard of to have on at one of the locations? Has anyone else done this?? Did it feel strange? My FI and I both grew up in Catholic households but we are not religious people now.
  9. I am definitely considering Excellence as well, although it sounds like they have several weddings per day, so you may be one of several brides getting married that day. I think somebody mentioned that they got a "wedding factory" feel from Excellence on their site visit...
  10. Hi ladies, I thought we were going to get married in Cabo, but that looks like it may be changing. I really want our ceremony site to be at a beautiful gazebo. Does anyone have any suggestions for the Maya Riviera/Cancun area for resorts with pretty gazebos (photos of course, would be appreciated!) I love the Excellence Riviera Cancun gazebo, but it turns out that it's a bad choice as it's not very secluded and hard to see for guests. Our guest list is small -- about 25.
  11. For those of you that got married at Excellence Riviera Cancun, can you tell me the reception sites that are available? I received some information from the WC there, but she basically just sent me what is already on their website.
  12. Does anyone know if its possible to get married at the gazebo at Excellence. It looks like such a great spot, but it doesn't appear that you could really have guests seated to see any of the cermony.
  13. Hi ladies!! I love this forum and have so many questions We will most likely be getting married at Dreams and our guest list is somewhere between 20-25 people. How much time after the ceremony do you take for photos? I'm thinking somewhere between 1.5-2 hours, but what do my guests do in the meantime? I imagine that's the cocktail hour before the reception? Is this included in the Dreams reception fees? Did you have it somewhere other than your reception site? Or did you let your guests change/freshen up and then have the reception? Also, I'd love to bring my ipod for music, but am wondering if its silly to think our guests will be into dancing with so few of us...for others with such a small guest list, did you have music/dancing or just dinner? Finally, if we have guests not staying at Dreams, does the $89 pp fee cover both the ceremony & reception or do you have to pay it twice (as when you pay $25 pp per site for guests staying at Dreams)?
  14. I went to the Paradise Cove one. It was very good. Before the actual luau you can take photos with parrots, do spear throwing, canoeing, lei making & other activities. The food was decent and the overall experience was great. Paradise Cove is a 45 minute drive from Waikiki but they will pick you up and drop you off, and that price is included in the fee.
  15. Hi ladies, I've heard that the beach at Dreams is unswimmable, and that the one at the Hilton allows swimming. Can anyone refer me to beaches close to Dreams that are swimmable? Many thanks!
  16. Karla, do you have any actual photos of your designs (so I can see the actual letterpress)?
  17. Does anyone know if the room booking is cumulative? Say, 4 rooms for 5 nights (insteads of 10 rooms for 2 nights)?
  18. I'm considering having my wedding & reception at Dreams, but I'm worried that having both there (in addition to having guests stay there) might get a bit old...I'm definitely having the welcome/rehearsal dinner offsite. I'm worried that guests will kind of "know what to expect" as far as the gazebo wedding, reception etc if they're they're staying there the entire time, especially if there are other weddings going on while we're there. Did any of you decide to stay offsite and then use Dreams just for your ceremony & reception? I just don't want my guests to get tired of being there...KWIM?
  19. How much are WC prices typically? I have a very small guest list of about 20-25, and will most likely be choosing an AI for my ceremony & reception...
  20. I'm also looking into the Kahala. I believe the site fee is $2500 for use of one of their gazebos. I'm not sure if this is waived if your party stays at the hotel...
  21. I was wondering this same thing... So basically, if you have your reception there, there is no site fee for the ceremony? I wonder if this includes the chapel... I haven't heard anything back from the events coordinator there. Does anyone know if the reception could include one of the restaurants at the Sheraton?
  22. Do you have a link to your wedding photos? I'd love to see them, as I have a very small guest list as well...
  23. Has anyone gotten married in the chapel at Hacienda Del Mar or have any info? Is it a full Catholic mass? How long is the mass approximately? (We only have less than 20 guests, but the majority of them are not religious). Is the mass in Spanish? Is there a translator? Is there AC in the chapel? Also, which reception venue would you recommend for a small party of ~20? I want it to have an intimate and private feel. Thanks!
