For both the STD and the Passport we printed everything right onto the white paper. I didn't even try to find paper that would work, but I'm sure it would if you found the one you wanted. I already had a ton of white card stock so I didn't see a point in buying more paper.

Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)
Mel replied to TammyWright's topic in Puerto Vallarta Accommodations & Site
Rachael, Thanks for the ceremony stuff. And definately thank you for bringing up the ordeal at the marina. I have been there several times, but can't remember much because of well partying too much. I will e-mail Kelley and ask her what she recommends for my guests to do so that way I can put it in their welcome letter. Hopefully, everything will go fine. We are doing the site visit so FI should remember what to do for the next day and tell the guests. -
Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)
Mel replied to TammyWright's topic in Puerto Vallarta Accommodations & Site
I have 14 days until my wedding and I still haven't heard anything from the officiant should I be worried? How much time before the LC brides got married did Brad talk to you? -
Thanks, I'm glad that you are thinking you can do them. Honestly they aren't that hard. The worst part is cutting them out. And we personalized every pass we sent out with their name and departure city, so that took a while but not really necessary. We did not use any special fonts, just Edwardian Script ITC. As for the map...google! Just start typing in words into google images. Don't get frustrated if you can't find it right away. They are out there is just takes some time to find them. I found "old map+Mexico" worked best. If you find the map you want but don't like the colors, try to import it into Word or into some office program and play with the "format pictures button." There is a way that you can make the entire picture monochromatic and yellow is an option, so if you want the distressed look you can play with this and get it the way you want. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions! Have fun!!!!!

I saw it last night. Very good considering I knew nothing about Iron Man at all. FI "drug" me to see it. Stay after the credits there is a clip about the sequel or at least a dead give away about the next one. Iron Man and the Avengers!

Small wedding, I mean really small
Mel replied to Librarychick's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
We are having 15, including us, and that is strictly immediate family, like mom and dad and sibs. We have also found it is not much cheaper to do a small wedding, but we did splurge on some stuff life a DJ and a cake. At times I get down b/c I'm not going to get to share my day with a bunch of people (I think it is more of a selfish show off haha look at my wedding attitude though) and there are a few that just can't come b/c they can't travel that far like my grandparents. But we are having an AHR, so they can watch the videos and see the pics. -
Does your school have an account with RefWorks or Endnotes? If they do, learn how to use it quick. It will literally put your works citied together for you in the click of a button ok maybe two clicks but super easy. All you have to do is export the reference you are citing from into either one and the system will store it for you. This is especially great if you are looking through online journals or google.scholar sites. Then when you are ready to create the works cited click on create a works cited and tell it what style and Vola! You have all of your citations in word. I just found out about this like two months ago. I really wish I would have known about it sooner because it would have saved me tons of hours of work. And I was impressed it had every imaginable type of citation you could think of. I am majoring in Wildlife Management. Not the most common field and they had all of the formats for the Journal of Wildlife Management, Journal of Mammalogy, Auk, and a bunch of other ones I didn't even know existed. Lots of journal formats for Drs. and Lawyers, everything.

The worst part about writing papers is when you can think of everything you could be looking up on BDW. It has been the death of my grades this semester...well at least has contributed the countless nights of no sleep! I just finished my final draft of the fourth paper this semester and only have two more drafts to correct...ughh makes me sick to think about it, maybe I should start...ohhh but I really need to find some ideas for my welcome letter, and I need to post the directions for the barefoot sandals and ...

Hyperpigmentation Anyone?

Eww...really makes me not want to go tan, but I also really don't want to have awful tan lines. I feel bad for you ladies that have it on your upper lips. I think that would be worse because people think you are hairy. People think that I have a large birth mark on my forehead, if I'm not at work, and if I am at work they tell me to wash my face b/c I have ash or dirt on it. -
Man, living a lie your whole life...hehe not really. FI's name is Michael, but at the hospital they put Micheal. So if that wasn't bad enough to give him a girl name, they even put it on pink girl paper that they issue from the hospital. He asked his mom what the heck happened and wondered why she didn't catch it and she said she didn't know. Two possibilities (A) she was too drugged up to realize either with drugs or happiness not sure which or ( she is retarded and can't spell and when the nurse took it to who ever to print it they saw Micheal so assumed girl! We were afraid of not being able to get his passport because of the misspelling but it didn't turn out to be an issue.

Hyperpigmentation Anyone?
Mel replied to Mel's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I really don't like using the lightner/bleach cream. It doesn't feel right, makes me look worse, and is too much work to apply and keep off of where I don't want it. I will have to check into photo facials. I haven't heard of them and I sure as heck don't want to end up like the lady that turned red and hurt. -

I have been doing microderm and it definitely improves for maybe the first week, but then comes back just as dark. I've never done the glycolic facials before. What are they? My Dr Rx Clearer Cream Hydroquinone + DMAE Did yours just appear almost overnight? Mine did and I honestly thought I had something wrong with me so I went a saw a derm. and he said that it was this. I have hyperpigmentation from my BC. A nice big triangle of extra darkened skin on my forehead. Hyperpigmentation is when a patch of skin tans more than the rest of the skin. Does anyone else have this and what are you doing to keep it from getting darker? My dermatologist gave me some bleaching cream to help it go away but it doesn't really work and makes the non-tan areas get whiter. I always wear a SPF 50 in that spot but it still gets dark no matter what I do. Any suggestions?

I loved yours. Congrats. My fingers are about to fall off from cutting the notches in the passes and rounding the corners. Cheers Haha I totally know what you mean. Have you thought of buying a corner punch? I didn't use them because I'm cheap and would rather have my fingers fall of but other girls have and said they worked great.

And finally, here is the palm tree for you, JamaicaBride. I thought I would include some of the other ones I used too. Like I said before, I had to mess around with them in word and change the coloring and transparency of the background to get them to work, but they finally looked the way I wanted them to. I found these too which I think would work great for monograms but I don't know what the rules are for copyrights.

Here are the STD files We printed each background first and then printed the wording directly onto the already printed background. We couldn't figure out how to make the background stick and still keep our words visible even after we did all of the arrangements of pushing it to the back, bringing text forward, etc. The computer savy people can comment on this and are probably laughing because it is something super simple! HAHA oh well. For the holders we went to Kinkos and bought the paper we wanted and had them fold the paper into brochures. I think it cost maybe 5 cents to have it done per sheet. We thought it was better than us trying to fold them. Then we cut a slit in them for the passes to go and glued the bottom and on the side so the passes wouldn't fall out. Here are the attachments for the passport invites with the RSVP. I double-sided printed slides 1 and 2 (covers and inside of covers) on white cardstock and printed slides 3 and 4 on regular printer paper. I then cut each of them out and stapled them in the crease where I folded the papers in half. For the RSVP postcards I used the Avery matte white postcards number 3380. I used textured but that was because that was all I could find. My recommendation is to not follow the instructions that come with the postcards and just use this template or the ones that are already built into word. NOTE**** these files are not templates, I have no clue how to make them templates. I don't know if this makes a difference when you try to rearrange stuff, but hopefully it works for you all. Or if someone could tell me how to make them templates I can redo this post Attachment 1880 Attachment 1881 Attachment 1882 Passport STD Template.ppt frontRSVP.doc RSVP_Info.doc

Kudos to you guys that can hold out. I made sure he was the right one and I haven't been with anyone else. No way in heck we could even hold out the 35 days to our wedding. We said no sex the day before...hmmm wonder if that will even work?! I think it would be impossible to not do something since we live together and have for the past 3 years.

Whew...lots of questions to answer! Thanks for the comments. I had my shower on Sunday and a few people had already received the invites and they couldn't stop talking about all of the stationery that we have done for the wedding. They thought it was so great to receive something completely different instead of the plain old invite. I had fun doing them, even though FH was cussing my name the entire time because I made him cut stuff out. Quote: Originally Posted by msam007562 Wow ~ these are great!!! I don't know how to make a template, but I will attach my document to a post when I get home. I just made it in word. I originally used a template from someone else but I tweaked it a lot about the only thing that stayed the same was the part with our picture. I have no clue who sent me a template. I think I just downloaded it off of one of the threads. I really like someone's idea about putting a map of the country as the background. I'm so bad I can't remember who's idea it was, but they used the map of Hawaii. We sent out the STDs last Nov and just got out the invites last week. I've been trying to find it for weeks! I just did a search on the internet for palm tree. I think it was a different color, so I had to go into power point and I made the background transparent and used the color hues to change the color of the picture. I will also try to attach the picture to the post I am going to do when I get home with the templates. If it doesn't show up PM me and I can send it to you through e-mail.

My Bridesmaids' Gifts

I just started beading and created my pattern. I made the "square" teal color pattern by placing each of the sets of thread in one direction and the other through the opposite direction then pulled tight. Then I put one bead on each set of threads and then repeated the first part by threading in opposite directions. I have to make one more pair, so I will take pictures as I go to give you a better idea. I'm sure this makes no sense at all! Quote: Originally Posted by monicaswave Wow they look amazing! Our Passport Invites These were much easier to do than the STDs, time wise, although I went through at least 4 blue ink cartridges, 3 red, 3 yellow, and 3 black!! Eikes probably would have been cheaper to buy them, but oh well. Hotel info for our AHR RSVP cards, they were printed on textured postcard paper because that's all I could find, which is why you can't really read the info from the scan, but they look good in person.
