  1. Gorgeous...I can't wait until May when I can experience Las Caletas like you and so many other brides have. Did you have the intimate wedding? It wasn't dark on your ride back?! Thanks for sharing

  3. Has anyone talked to Elizabeth Lloyd lately. I have e-mailed her twice in three weeks. One to [email protected] address and the other at [email protected]. I still haven't gotten a response. I also tried contacting Christine Vincent with Xinephoto but haven't gotten a response either. Has anyone used Xinefoto?
  4. If you know someone who is going to your wedding city location you could ask them to pick up postcards from that area. I don't have time to create logos and we have a very small budget. My parents are visiting PV next week so I asked them to pick up 75 postcards for me. I am going to just include our date, location, and then like everyone else refer them to the website. Postcards are only like $0.10 down there, so it makes for a super cheap STD and postage is cheaper! They just aren't as personal, but I think that is what he website is for. If you still want to send out all of the information, I was going to make a mock passport with information about how to get a passport, a folded paper airplane or boarding pass with info about flights to and from PV, a luggage tag with our names, the date and location, and a mock check in receipt about hotel info. I was going to wrap it all with a piece of fabric or ribbon in our colors. I was going to make everything myself so it would cost much but postage would be rediculus and it takes a lot of time.
  5. I wish I lived closer or at least it was cheaper to fly there. I would totally split the cost with you. There is absolutely nothing like that in Arizona. We don't really even have areas with rooftops let alone whole living quarters up there. I thought places like that only happened in movies and in $$$$$ condos in NYC.
  6. Does anyone know where I can buy lingerie? Or just in general what are some good stores or sites to visit to check out. I don't like Victoria Secrete and I already have looked at Fredrick of Hollywood's stores. Anywhere else?
  7. I don't know how many people this package is good for. I do know that the largest sail boat they have is only good for 18 people. So I don't know if you have 18 people and then a few go over early and then you could have a few more people? That is something I need to ask because I have 18 people right now, but 5 of us are going over early. As for a long boat ride back...I don't know if it would be as much fun because on the sail boat they don't do the performances and it is kind of difficult to walk around alot, but I guess anything is possible and it completely depends on the crowd.
  8. I recently talked with the WC--Kelly at LC and found out they are offering a smaller package than the Deluxe for people who do not have a large guest list. It sounds much better than the intimate package as far as it being more personalized and private. Here is Kelly's e-mail to me about it. Here is the information on the Paradise Wedding Package that we discussed earlier today!!! Remember it is not advertised on the website as of yet, but should be by the beginning of the fall. For this package you would depart at approximately 3pm from our office in Puerto Vallarta on one of our beautiful Sailboats. We would have drinks and snacks on board for you to enjoy while you sail the bay. It would take you privately out to Las Caletas where you arrive at approximately 5pm. You would then have plenty of time to prepare for the ceremony at our very own hill top spa and bridal casita. At approximately 5:45 we would commence the ceremony directly on the beach. This would be a completely private ceremony as our regular Rhythms of the Night guests will not arrive for another hour and half. Following the ceremony you would have plenty of time for photographs, music and cocktails before retreating to a private terrace for dinner. Following dinner you would have the wonderful opportunity to attend the Rhythms of the Night show (along with other guests) or you may choose to simply enjoy additional cocktails, sparkling wine and music on your dinner terrace. Following the show, you would then have the option of either returning by private lancha or by catamaran with the other guests. Returning by catamaran can actually be quite fun as they do a bit of a show on board with music and dancing, etc, but of course you also have the option to return privately with your guests on the lancha. We don’t recommend taking the Sailboat back only because it will take another two hours to do so, so the private lancha or the Catamaran is a better option. Many folks ask me if I think the semi-private option is really worth it, and honestly, I do. I think that the extra time at Caletas and the private ceremony on the beach are the number one reasons. You won't feel rushed or crowded before, on or after the ceremony, which is a major plus, and it's a rare opportunity to be in a place like Las Caletas with such privacy for such a small group. The private terrace for dinner is also a nice plus. The price for this package has a planning fee of $2950.00 usd plus $50 usd per head. I will go ahead and attach a photo of the private lancha, and then here is the link to see the sailboats, Sailboat 1 is the smallest. Vallarta Adventures' Fleet of Sailboats in Puerto Vallarta Mexico I tried attaching a picture of the lancha but can't. Basically it is just a blow up boat with a canopy on it. It is not a boat that you can get up and walk around in while moving. If you want a picture pm me and I will get it to you. The only thing that this package does not include like the deluxe is that you have to pay to go over early. The bride can go for free but you have to pay $80 per additional person. Hope this helps for anyone who is wanting to do LC but has a small group and doesn't want to spend the extra money on a large package.
  9. I have taken 4 vallarta adventure tours (Las Caletas, Scuba Diving, Sierra Madre, Canopy Tour) and loved everyone. The crew is great and are more than willing to help you in any way they can. When I took the canopy tour they were still working on the Big Mama or whatever they call it, but even without the last bit the tour was still amazing.
  10. Ok. I had a question about the aisle set up. My FI is very adament about having us face the ocean and being able to get the ocean in our photos. So the L- thing would work, but did any of you who had this set up have the palm arch. FI says that we won't be able to see through the palms. Do any of you have any ideas?
  11. Very true! Maybe I'll threaten to feed her to the sharks (I did see one at Las Marietas when I was scuba diving...but that's on the other side of PV!) I just hope that she isn't stupid when she is drunk. She might be ok while not drunk (hope, pray, cross fingers) but when she is I don't know what to expect.
  12. Thanks ladies. I know FI has already talked to FMIL about the situation and she swears she will do nothing and she is over it but I don't believe her at all. She still makes comments about new wife that shows she is still being immature about it. I will make sure we talk to both of them again, and I think you ladies are right. It is my wedding day and I will take who I want and forget the feelings. At least FMIL doesn't live next store...if fact half way across the country! I'll have to come up with a job for her.
  13. So I'm getting married at Las Caletas. I say this because there is an hour boat ride to get there. My problem is that FI parent's are divorced. They are both remarried however, FMIL still has a problem with FFIL's new wife. FMIL already picked a fight with FFIL's new wife at a bar, and new wife broke FMIL's nose. They do not get along needless to say. FFIL's new wife is great. I love her to death and she is way more mature than FMIL about the whole situation (she only broke FMIL's nose because FMIL swung first!) and would never provoke anything. FMIL is just the opposite..obviously from the bar fight, no matter how much she says she won't, she still will. Now back to the wedding. We have figured out how to keep them apart as much as possible prior to the wedding, but by having our wedding at Las Caletas there is an hour boat ride to the location. That will give FMIL lots of time to start something bad. I have thought about taking new wife with me and my BMs over early, but then FMIL will get mad. But I really don't know if I could handle FMIL that long while I'm getting ready (she's very critical) and I know new wife would be hurt by this since we get along so well. She would understand why but would still be hurt. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I hope between all of us we might be able to figure out some plan so that there are not as many hurt feelings and hopefully no broken bones and blood.
  14. Well ladies...here is my ring. I love the outdoors, so this ring was perfect because from either side it looks like a flower. My FI and I searched for about a year and a half for the perfect ring. In the end I picked out my top five favorites and he picked his favorite out and gave me that one. We special ordered it from Mark Schneider the designer. I have a size 3.75 ring size so he had to custom make a mold to make it look right. I have a very small diamond compared to some of you, but I'm sure a 2 carat would like awful on my tiny finger!
  15. My name is Melinda and my FI is Michael. We are getting married at Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta, MX on May 27, 2008. We just reserved our date today. We have nothing decided other than the location and date (which was a chore...only took 5 months!) Hopefully everything gets a little easier. I've heard it is pretty smooth sailing for Las Caletas Brides.
