  1. Jeez, a corking fee after taxes would be about $22 per person + alcohol vs. about $11/hr/person for Open Bar. I think the open bar would work best for us...

Decisions, decisions!!!
  3. He said in a National bar they could do things like cuervo/sauza, jack daniels, smirnoff, etc. Do you think you can get better deals at Sam's even with corking fees? How far away is Sam's?

Hopefully there will be one place where we'll "just know". That's what I'm envisioning.

Oh well, I'll be hot and sweaty, but I just hope it doesn't rain cause I haven't even bothered to ask about a back up plan! I'll email you the proposal with prices. We are estimating at 150 ppl. But here's what's included: LOCATION: Sunset Bar for the reception, Jetty for the ceremony and Beach for the private banquet and dancing SET UP: For the ceremony at the jetty: Table at front for the preacher, all linen, white runner for the aisle, Italian chairs, wedding type music and microphone, rustic palm carpets in all walking areas, candles and torches. For the banquet, round tables for 10 people each, all linen, china, Italian chairs, lighting, dancing floor, stage for band/dj, candles and torches. BANQUET:WEDDING PLAN No. 3, (150 people included) ·On site coordinator ·Complete set up for the banquet areas, described above ·Three courses dinner menu (Selection pending) ·Corking fee, six hours (we asked for 7, and he is not charging extra, this all mixers, soda, water, ice all we need to provide is the liquor.) ·Fire works (10 large bombs and one hundred thunder lights) ·Exclusive waiters ·One bridal suite for one night with late check out at 6:00 PM ·Tasting menu for two persons ·½ Hour Massage for bride and groom ·Fruit basquet upon arrival (Only for the bride and groom room) ·VIP Treatment during stay He's also throwing in a Symbolic Cake (picture op), which I'm fine with since the dinner includes desert. We also found that my cousin's husband is good friends with the ppl who make the Tres Gerenaciones Tequila! We are looking into getting bottles with our own labels for the tables/favors.. and purchsing the tequila by the jugs for consumption! Hey Amy, Marco didn't mention anything about the Bridal Suite, Massages or Tastings. Do you think these come with all packages? And I need a cake! How do I get a cake?? Also, where do you get your liquor from if you do the corkage fee? Is the corkage fee that he mentioned per hour?
  6. I emailed Nicole last Saturday. Just wondering how long she usually takes to respond to your emails...
  7. Ok, here's what she said: "Yikes..I would say no. It's just going to kill the silhouette. Especially this one. It looks like Chiffon which is a pain in the *** to work with because it shifts around under the sewing machine." At least now you won't have to go in somewhere and be laughed at She also added this: "Completely understandable (I told her about you not wanting to walk in somewhere and have them laugh at you, lol). They might try it but I can't say that she would like the results. Better to go with something within 2 sizes of what you need. I'd say that's the limit."
  8. Duh, I just remembered my best friend is a clothing designer - let me email her....
  9. Just gain a few sizes - problem solved! jk, That dress is really lovely tho.
  10. Awe Kelly, I am sorry you are missing your Dad so much today. I feel like my Dad is also the wisest man I know and I often think that if he were gone I would be completely lost at times. This is a great reminder to not take the people in your life for granted. They all play a very special role. (Hope that didn't make you more sad...) On a happier note I'm glad you have another amazing, strong man in your life who is there to love and support you. CONGRATULATIONS Mrs. E!
  11. Amy R. - Are you and your guests staying at the Mayan or just holding the ceremony/reception there? Anyone know how far away the Mayan is from Dreams?
  12. Awwww Poor Jack! I'm sorry y'all are having to go through this with a brand new pup!!! Wishing you all the best luck!

No I'm not from Boston, my Aunt married a wonderful man from there and they decided to settle down up North and have a family. They actually live outside of Boston in Newburyport. It's such a CUTE little town! Martin and I went there last year for XMas. Boston and the whole area was a beautiful place to be. We took a day away from the fam and hung out around Quincy Hall (I think that's the name). We had a blast!
  14. My hair dresser said that she would definitely not feel comfortable leaving her 3 year old with a resort babysitter, which kind of surprised me. But then again, i don't have kids so my mind isn't doing the "mommy" thing yet. FYI she's not bringing her son since she will be "working", but kids are invited to the wedding. I want a flower girl/ring bearer! Then again, we may have so many kids in attendance that it wouldn't be fair to choose and "play favorites" and I'm not sure how we could incorporate them all without making it an affair revolving around them.

The doc said I probably got it while my immune system was down from the wisdom teeth stuff.
  17. BLAH it is Mono!!!!!! yucky The worst part is we're going to have to postpone our PV site visit.
  18. I'm glad they said he is acting more like a normal puppy today! That's gotta be a good sign.

Thanks. I did read that it can affect your liver and mostly your spleen, so you have to be very careful about exercising or doing activities because your spleen could rupture (eek). But they say that most ppl come out of it fine with no lasting effects. I don't drink too often (a few glasses of wine a week on avg.) but I've stopped while on antibiotics. If it is mono I will do more research on this. Hmmm, I wonder about Tylenol - I've been taking Tylenol a few times a day for awhile now to ease the symptoms and also a Hydrocodone/Guiafinnesin syrup occasionally at night. These are the only things that help to alleviate my symptoms but I wonder what role they play on the spleen/liver. Hopefully I don't have to just suffer through it w/o any medicine - that would be miserable.
