  1. On a cliff overlooking the sand? Which package is this used for? The deluxe? Does anyone have a picture of this? I am choosing the deluxe package which is on the sand but I am kind of interested in knowing what the cliff is all about.
  2. Thanks for the attached document. Very helpful. YOu mentioned earlier that you believe L&A have the best prices. Which one is L&A? Nicole the wedding coordinator for Las Caletas told me just recently that the only ones they use directly are Franco Gonzalez and Roberto Aceves. Does anyone know if those two photographers have an assistant to help with lighting, poses, etc.?? Also, what's the scoop on Carlos Melnik? He used to be one of the choices for Las Caletas but I guess there was a fall out. Anyone have details on that because he emailed me with his prices and he seemed reasonable but I don't want to hire anyone who has bad feelings/relations towards Nicole and Las Caletas!!
  3. Melissa, Just wondering if you were secluded in the Intimate package? It looked like you were. Did you see others around? How long were you at Las Caletas?
  4. Jamy, I didn't realize an exta 1/2 hour was an option. I thought it was by the hour with one hour being the minimum. I saw that it is $10 per person per hour with I believe a minimum of $300. How did you get 1/2 hour? Did you pay $5 per person? Sorry I'm being so nosy!!
  5. Thank you Ann. Now you have to deal with all the crazy Las Caletas brides hounding you with questions!!
  6. Okay, enough about your toes (haha). Awesome review! Please let us know how the guests liked the Trio. I have to figure out if I want them or not. Did you say they played during the ceremony? I must have read wrong. Did you use the traditional "here comes the bride" song when you walked down the aisle? If so (or whatever song it was), did the DJ take charge of this? What if I don't hire a DJ? Who does it? Now, for an embarrassing question: After figuring out what a TTD session was (trash the dress), I still am not clear as to what this means. I know it has something to do with the photographer taking pictures the day after but there must be something I am missing. Oh, and what are b-pics? Apparently Paul saw those before the wedding. Please don't tell me the b stands for before!! Oh Lord, I need a translator on this site! As for the bathrooms on Las Caletas, is there one closer to ground level that guests can use? I never went when I was there but my FI said they were way up in the jungle. I noticed you being barefoot as you walked down the steps with your father. Did you ever wear your shoes you purchased? Where did you find pictures of the chuppa for Nicole? What was the temperature/humidity like? Were you sweating the whole time getting ready? Did Nicole have it arranged as to how the guests would be seated at the ceremony and reception or did they just sit wherever they wanted? Were you seated at some sort of head table? You mentioned bringing aqua sea glass. Where/how was this used? I may have missed the picture. My darn computer at home is so slow. Did you design a wedding program? Not sure if I will need one or if it is necessary. I kind of like the 'fan program' idea though for the guests to keep cool. By the way, the guests all sat in the sun, correct? What flavor cake did you choose? (Again, maybe I missed seeing the picture of it). Did you opt to pay more and stay longer than 10:30pm? If not, do you regret it (if you weren't sick of course!)? Do you think it would be too hot for my FI to wear a tuxedo? Am I being silly in requesting this of him? I don't see many guys wearing a tuxedo in the pictures on this forum. Maybe I'm a huge dork. Did you do any cool excursions while in Mexico?? Canopy tours are always fun! Did you have to also pay for Matt Blum's airfare and a separate fee for him to also shoot pictures of you or is this the normal set up for Leigh? Lastly (I think), I had no idea you were officially getting married in Hawaii. That's the coolest idea ever!! Did you just visit Oahu and Maui? What were the highlights of both places? I too am thinking of Hawaii for my honeymoon but just not right from Mexico! I have no idea how to pack that many clothes all at once! Well I've blabbed entirely too long and I hope I didn't make it sound as though your review wasn't spectacular. I am just thinking of all those extra little details being I am a soon to be LC bride!! Did you post your Hawaii pics somewhere?? I need a faster computer. Thanks Ann!!!
  7. Wow. Those pictures on kodak gallery are really great. Many of the wedding ones look professional. You will have a wonderful collection of photos once you get them all sorted from the guests, etc. Great fire dancer photos by the way!
  8. Ann, Did you happen to post a play by play of your actual wedding day? I read Jamie's just now but it's always good to read as many as possible since everyone has a different experience. I have a million questions but want to wait until I read your post because I am sure most will be answered!!
  9. Awesome pictures!!! I think it was picture 108 of the cake on the table that I was trying to figure out what those two colorful objects were on either side of the cake. It looks as though it might be some sort of Mexican decoration. Did you bring those or did Nicole set that up? What about the black runner? Did you choose that? Is it available in different colors? I absolutely love the pictures on the bed. I remember seeing that bed when my FI and I went on the nature walk during the day. I took a picture of it because I thought it was an odd spot for a bed and had no idea why it was there! Did you spend two full days at Las Caletas before your actual wedding? I know one day was with Nicole to go over the final details but did you go back the following day? It's impossible to ever get enough of that place!!! Thank you for sharing those photos. The colors of the bridesmaids dresses are gorgeous.
  10. Wow. What an amazing review of your wedding. I also couldn't see the pictures but the weirdest thing happened. I copied and pasted your review onto my word document and suddenly your pictures magically appeared! It was a strange, but nice surprise. You mentioned staying an extra 1/2 hour. Did you pay extra for that? I thought it was $10 per guest per hour extra charge. Also, what did you do for music? Did you have the Trio or a band or DJ, etc What were those gifts I see on everyone's plates? Was there some sort of "head table" or did you just sit with all the other guests at the long table I see in the picture? Did you host a welcome dinner somewhere? What hotel did you stay at? What was the temperature and were you able to stay cool in the bridal suite? Was it required to make a seating chart for the ceremony and reception? How did you choose your cake? Did Nicole send you sample pictures? Did you have children at the wedding? I am thinking of having an adults only wedding (aside from the ring bearer and flower girl). Sorry about the million questions!!! April 1 can't come quick enough. Nicole and I have begun communicating. I am now going to view the official pictures!! Thank you again.
  11. MikkiStreak, You mentioned having a honeymoon site. Are you doing what I mentioned where people give monetary gifts such as contributions to airfare, sunset dinners, cool excursions, etc.? If so, may we speak about this further either here or privately? I need help in setting something up and knowing which site to go through since most charge service fees. Also, GREAT TIP about Bed, Bath, and Beyond!! Are you positive gifts can be exchanged for cash Sounds too good to be true but if that's the case, that makes it simple for me to decide where to register. Should I just include that place plus a possible honeymoon website and be done? How would that sound or does it still sound like we expect gifts? Can I put it on my website or just the bridal shower invitation (of course not the actual wedding invitation!!---my mother already had that talk with me). Thank you everyone!!
  12. Well ladies, I need some serious help. I attempted to start a new thread but stupid me doesn't know how!! Now about these gifts. I also do not want to be lugging gifts back from Mexico. Another dilemma (sp?) I have is that both my FI and I live on our own and have more than enough of everything! We literally need nothing. I did include that on my website I created. Hopefully people will get the hint. However I know my guests will want to give something to us so I was contemplating signing up with honeyluna.com or something similar and creating my entire honeymoon where people could give monetary gifts by clicking on different activities, airfare, etc. They are basically all chipping in helping us pay for our honeymoon. Has anyone seen this cool idea? Check it out. I saw some samples and was impressed by the way it was broken up into categories. Would it be tacky to put on my website not to bring money, gift cards, or GIFTS to Mexico. I could say something like: "Due to safety, possible tax issues, and overall inconvenience, please do not bring gifts of any kind to Mexico. We would not want to risk something happening to them. Your presence is present enough (yes I stole that one). If you do wish to purchase something, please send it to (provide address) or go to honeyluna.com for choices." Is this way too tacky?? Also, if you feel this needs to be in its own separate thread, feel free to move it if you know how!!! Thanks
  13. hls140, Glad I found you!!! I am getting married at Las Caletas in PV April 1, 2008. I am searching for hotel rooms now. My #1 choice is Buenaventura and/or Villa Premiere adults only hotel. I may do Buenaventura over the weekend and then switch next door to Villa Premiere for the week since I can't afford the weekend. Now I wonder if I should choose Playa Los Arcos. Do you have any pictures of the place? I know there are three Los Arcos properties and I believe this is supposedly the nicest one and it's on the beach. Can you describe the hotel a bit more please? Pool? Room types/categories? Location? We won't be doing all inclusive so I don't care about the food. Thanks My email is [email protected] in case you'd rather send it there. I've been to PV once so I kind of know the basic layout.
  14. I also put down my deposit for April Fool's Day 2008. I did get a confirmation so be patient. Didn't j&j just wed at Las Caletas on 5-5-07? Are there pictures somewhere Lindsay (or anyone that was married out of the country): Besides your gown as a carry on item, how in the world did the other important items get transported such as shoes, hair accessories, jewelry, make up, and other items necessary for the wedding? I don't trust checking them in but I fear not having enough room to carry them on!!
  15. Thanks for answering my questions Laura! Is the Velas Vallarta strictly and all inclusive resort or is that an option? The prices seem a bit too high for me but maybe the food is included. I meant to say May instead of March by the way when I asked about the weather. I will probably get married in April so it's close enough to May and I figured the weather would be similar. I would love to see your program and the bustle of your dress. Was it a French bustle? I just found out there are two kinds of bustles!! That was so nice of Nicole to arrange the flowers for your hair. Did you tell her you would be wearing it down or didn't it matter? How much extra were the centerpiece flowers? Thanks again. I have to view your pictures again. I just love them!!
  16. About the photographer....where did you find them? Did you fly him/her in?
  17. Laura, I loved everything. It's exactly what I envision for my own wedding there. Now for more questions: 1. Did you have a bustle for your dress? The train looks about as long as mine does and I was told to do a bustle with it. 2. Did you purchase the flowers for your hair from Nicole? I love the color of it. What was the name of the flower? 3. Who was your officiant? Did you write your own vows? 4. Did you hire a videographer? Was it through Nicole? 5. Did Nicole hook you up with those beautiful colored callalilly flowers I saw on the tables? (I think they were callies at least). 6. Was it extra for the chair covers? I want that too!! 7. I noticed some pictures that may have been taken at your hotel? Which hotel did you stay at? 8. Did you create your own wedding program? What kind of information did it include? 9. How many bags of flower petals did you purchase from Nicole? I saw them on the aisle and the tables. 10. My hair is very similar to yours and I also cannot afford a stylist. What did you friend use to create those gorgeous curls I must know the secret. 11. Lastly, how was the heat in March My dress will be a nice, big traditional one. I don't care how hot it is!!!! I told my FI that I want to be Cinderella for the day! Thanks again, Laura!!!
  18. Very cool website. May I ask how much it costs to create such a site? I just love all the details. Hope you don't mind me 'borrowing' some!!! By the way, I just emailed you since I saw your email on the website. Hope you don't mind!
  19. Hey Cooper, Do you work for Nicole or do people hire you out privately? You're work is great!!
  20. Wow. Those pictures are amazing!! Thanks for the post.
  21. Hello and welcome Rachel. It's Marla from Michigan the crazy one who's been emailing you!!! That's what you get for finding me on tripadvisor!! This website is your ticket to relaxation. Everyone here has been a godsend to say the least.
  22. ZoeGirlTX: Where in PV where you married?
