  1. It's been many months since I last visited and since my April 1,2008 wedding but my photog posted pics on her website if you are interested. Marla + John | ELIZABETH LLOYD - Photographer Hopefully that will work!! Good luck to all the new brides!
  2. Sorry, I rarely check the website anymore!!! droland03: If you still need help, email me at [email protected]. My photographer was Elizabeth Fladung. She's awesome. She put a slideshow together on her website. Marla + John | ELIZABETH LLOYD - Photographer I hope that works for everyone!!!
  3. Yes, you are correct. I spoke to my photog and she is putting together a bunch of pictures on her website. I don't know her website off hand since I rarely visit it, but you can google Elizabeth Fladung or find her here on the forum since other girls have used her. Or you could try again at pictage and just put in a username and password and search Marla and John Knight. I would think it would take you there. There's some cool shots in a hammock, on the floating bridge, sunset pics, standing on cool rock formations, etc. Okay, now I'm bragging!!!
  4. My pro pics are available but I just don't know how to attach the link. Try going to Find the Perfect Wedding and Portrait Photographer on Pictage.com and type in Marla and John Knight or something like that. Maybe Las Caletas weddings Tell me if it works please!!
  5. Did you have Elizabeth Fladung as your photog? That's who I had. Nathan was her assistant. I really enjoyed them both. May I ask what you paid for your hair if I'm not being too rude??
  6. Oh, I just love that green color. As I was looking through your photos, I noticed the sand dollar I left at the island!!! It was near at the sign in table. It brought back my own memories and I'm glad it's being used again. Everything was beautiful. Who was the guy doing your hair? He did a great job!
  7. In case anyone missed the website, go to mbertett on Slide and Michele & Jim on Slide and click on the wedding link to see our non pro pics. My pro ones should be here really soon!!! Oh, and John was not hot in the tux like he thought he would be and in the end he was very glad he wore it and apologized for hassling me about it. All the guests thought he was so handsome and our outfits complemented each other. You can really wear whatever the heck you want!!
  8. I added a ton more pictures on mbertett on Slide Still no professional pics!
  9. Okay, I added a ton more pictures at mbertett on Slide Enjoy!!! Still waiting for the professional ones.
  10. In case you are not looking at my review, I will post the websites here so you can view some pics. Go to mbertett on Slide and Michele & Jim on Slide to view slideshows that my friend and father in law took. No professional photos yet!!
  11. I finally have some pictures to share. Go to mbertett on Slide and just look for my wedding pics. I posted a bunch of other pics from other vacations also but it should be easy to find. My father in law took those. My friend also posted some of her pics on a slideshow at Michele & Jim on Slide These are not the professional ones. Still waiting for those. If you want to see my fire dancer video, email me at [email protected] and if you cannot view the slideshows, email me and I will send them to you. Enjoy!!
  12. One more thing: I believe our boat was late as well with the guests. My dad said they took the scenic route whatever that means. I wonder if Nicole needed more time to set up. I just know that the men were rushed once they arrived. They don't need much time to get ready anyway!! However my reception started so late. I didn't know what time it was!!
  13. Thanks everyone. I think Beth will deliver the pictures to my home in about 3 weeks. At least that's what the contract says!! Starchild, My bouquet was just like yours. I originally requested purple calla lillies but Nicole thought they would look fake so she suggested the ones like yours and I loved them so much!!!! They matched my dress perfectly. I will need help posting the pics as soon as they are in!! I have no clue. Oh, wait. I believe Beth is putting them on a website so that should be easy but I will be getting a ton of guests photos as well. Hang on girls!!
  14. Yea, it worked. I know I'm replying to my own post!! hahaha
  15. Gosh, I hope this works because it's my first new thread!!! I was married April 1, 2008 at Las Caletas. I was proposed there during the night time tour back in 2006 so I truly know how magical the place is. John and I had our site visit with Nicole the Friday before and things went very well. We brought some of our goodies with us and then brought the rest the day of the wedding. Nicole does everything and keeps notes of what you tell her, etc. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. The bridal casita is really awesome as you've seen some of the pics already. I will fast forward to the wedding day. We had 42 guests total by the way. My mother and maid of honor went over early to spend the day in the casita. We hung out, ate, explored, had massages, etc. Beth Fladung/Lloyd, my photog came out around 3pm to start shooting. She is really great. I can't compare her to anyone but it was nice to have a female photog. She even helped with our dresses, got us champagne when we appeared stressed, etc. She hopped up on the counter where I was getting ready by the big mirror and starting taking pics from above. It was a bit strange but I tried my best to ignore it and focus on getting ready. It was like the paparazzi or something! Nicole periodically checked in with us keeping us informed on timelines and such. The weather was perfect. Not too hot and a nice breeze. I am glad I ate a big lunch because I didn't really feel like eating at dinner. My poor father was really sick with a bad cold too and barely made the boat ride over!! I really wasn't stressed at all. Things went very smoothly. Brad, the officiant does speak low and I can't imagine anyone could hear him. I felt like I was concentrating so hard on what he was saying that I forgot to look at John and was basically reciting the words to Brad!!! To make matters worse, they look so much alike!! We did our own vows so I did look at John then. I was never even close to crying. I don't have a clue if any of the guests cried. I wasn't looking. I tried to speak loudly because the mic that was placed in front of my mouth by Brad did not seem to work. My friend from work sang Ave Maria and I thought that was low also. Oh, well. We hired the Trio which was really cool. I didn't get to hear them that much from high above in the casita but they played the Bridal March for me. No idea what the other music was they played. I let them do their thing. We only had one maid of honor and one best man total. Oh, my flowers were gorgeous!! White calla lillies with lavendar roses in the center. Beautiful!!! There was lavendar in my dress and it was perfect. After the ceremony was the group shot and then we were whisked away for as many photos we could get before we lost daylight. I made sure we got a picture of the proposal location. I made John get down on one knee!! I named all the tables (starfish, sand dollar, sea turtle, etc.). Nicole did a good job using matching runners. We had separate tables, not one long table. I also had these cute beach themed placecard holders for the guests. Oh, don't bother using bubbles. We had them placed on the chairs so they could blow them as we walked down the aisle but people were too busy taking pictures. Plus, you have to pack them in your luggage. We had a signature frame for people to sign. Leave the glass at home of course. I also ordered these Mexico CDs which were really cheap. I actually found a bunch in the dolllar section at Michael's and ordered the rest. Then I had maracas made with our names and date engraved on them with a note attached that said, "Please shake me for our kiss." Huge hit!!!!!! My chuppa was gorgeous also. I know this is out of order. Sorry!! We used CDs for the dinner and reception music. I labeled everything but I guess the guy running it had some confusion and my technical brother fixed it. I can't wait to see my video and pictures. I have nothing!!!!! I am so glad I paid for an extra hour because if I didn't, my reception would have only been 30 minutes and I planned for 3 hours of music. I guess the pictures took longer and no one told me what time it was!!! The fire dancers are an absolute must by the way!! I was sad to leave. I wish we continued at some bar because I will never be able to wear my dress again and I loved it so much!! I don't really feel like I was even there without the pictures!! I feel like I still have to go get married. I wonder if anyone else felt this way. It's a bit depressing, really. My husband does not understand of course. We managed to freeze some of the cake at the hotel and we brought it home with us in the suitcase. I didn't really even like it but the tradition, you know!! Okay, I must leave work now. Let me know if you have any questions.
  16. Yari, If you are here, I see that you are having the bridal march play at Las Caletas. Are they providing it for you? There are so many different versions. Are you hiring the Trio? I am having the Trio and then using an Ipod. Nicole told me the Trio can play a cool song in place of the Bridal March which I agreed to but now I don't know. What song are you leaving to after the ceremony? By the way, does the Trio play during the dinner? If not, how many hours of dinner music do I need? Thank you
  17. I am getting married April 1, 2008. My website is johnandmarla.net. I know I haven't been on in a while. I am having problems accessing it at work which used to be no problem!! I hope this message gets through!! Take care.
  18. Totally changing the subject is ya don't mind. Is a site visit included in the LC package? I thought it was. If so, when is this typically done? I arrive Wednesday, March 26 and my wedding is April 1 which is a Tuesday. Rachel's wedding is Thursday so that day is probably out. Monday is no good because the guys are going deep sea fishing. Don't know if the weekend is an option. Hmm... Also, has anyone mailed or is thinking of mailing items to Nicole to hold? I found this adorable starfish cake topper from ebay and it's fragile and I don't want to risk flying with it. thanks
  19. Le Kliff is fantastic. My fiance had planned to propose to me there but we ended up going to Las Caletas for the night show and nothing could have topped that so he did it there instead. We did have dinner at Le Kliff and it's amazing. The view is great and I love the adorable place where weddings take place with the heart cut outs. Our food was okay but really expensive but we weren't there for the food.
  20. The video was the Outdoor Adventure one. I did it last December and it was AWESOME. Not for the faint of heart however. The mule ride was the scariest for me. You are literally on the side of the mountain with no guard rails. Anyways, it starts out with a speed boat ride, then the mule ride, then a bunch of zip lining and rapelling down the side of the waterfall, etc. Tons of fun. It is rated #3 by Princess Cruse line as the best excursion in the world. I am going to try Los Veranos next time however. By the way, I don't remember the video being an option to purchase. We got pictures though.
  21. Here I go again with my questions: What is fondant? I keep thinking fondue but I know that's not it. So...the quote I got from Nicole doesn't include the cake? I guess I didn't look that closely! She did send me some really awesome cake pictures and I believe those were the 'basic' choices. No idea how to post them here but email me at [email protected] if you want to see them!!
  22. I really hate to ask this but what exactly is a MacBook?
  23. Raisinblur, Nice pics. Was that Beth Medina or Beth Fladung? You know how I get confused girls!!
  24. Starchild, I tricked my computer and copied and pasted those photos onto a word document and they magically appeared. I absolutely love the calla lillies on the plates. Did you have those as your flowers or did you use the basic floral package Nicole provides? I really want purple calla lillies. Do you think that's possible? I do also like the one Lindsay had which I believe where the basic ones. Not that they were basic by any means!! Thanks for the photos. I don't think I need any extra floral centerpieces esp if it already comes with two. Did you have enough flowers to cover the runner and tables adequately in your opinion or do you wish you'd have purchased more? Oh, I noticed the black runner on the dinner table. Did you and your hubby sit behind that at the head table or was that there for another purpose like a guest book signing or something? Was black one of your colors? I think it looks gorgeous which I'd never guess but seeing it is really stunning. My dress will have some lavendar in it so I'll ask Nicole for a lavendar one. Did you pay extra for it?
  25. Ah, yes, I've seen those and they are magnificent. Since you are a photographer maybe you can tell me about how much money those cost (I know it's size dependent but just guesstimate) and what the difference is between the two thicknesses. Is there a difference in the way the picture looks? Thanks for the help.
