  1. Congrats and welcome Alissa! We are planning a DW in the Riviera Maya and just decided on Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun. We have heard a lot of great things about the resort and it is an adults-only property. Let me know if you need anything!
  2. I came across this park the other day and have started to consider it. I emailed the WC 3 days ago and of course have heard nothing back yet. I would really like to find out more info about it but like cancunbride2be mentioned, I am unsure of it because of their lack of responses!!

I am sick of looking over so many places!
  4. I have flown Spirit and have never had any problems. If you sign up for their emails, they will send you info on their sales, which usually come out every tuesday or wednesday. They were running a special with $0.01 cent fares (that is not a typo, one penny for one way!). Of course these sell out VERY fast, but they usually have really good fares. I recommend them!
  5. Congrats!! You look beautiful and your pics are amazing!!
  6. Sarah, we can't wait to have this decision finalized as well!! Margaret, Thanks so much for the info, we REALLY appreciate it!! There are soooo many choices...
  7. I know, either can we!! BTW, are you working tonight or tomorrow night? I work tomorrow 7am.
  8. I would also enjoy seeing some pics of weddings here. I am trying to decide on which RM/PDC resort best suits us and the wedding location is a big factor.
  9. Thanks for your suggestions Jason!! I will definately check those places out!! Also, let me know what you find as far as bakeries.
  10. Hi Tammy, We looked at Hawaii as well, but the airfare alone from Detroit would be between 800 and 1200 alone so I figured many of our guests would not be able to attend. Also, I found Hawaii had a lot of "hidden taxes", such as an energy tax or something like that, which was ~$15 a day for your water, lights, ect. I am glad we decided on Mexico. Thanks for your suggestions Jason!! I will definately check those places out!! Also, let me know what you find as far as bakeries.
  11. Aaron and I have been doing a lot of thinking and have decided to change our location to Playa del Carmen/Riviera Maya Mexico!! The main reason we chose this location is because it is more centrally located for all of our guests from both Michigan, Florida, and Washington, and because there are a lot more things to do there. I now need your help finding a resort!! We were looking at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun but it may be a bit pricy for my college friends on a budget ($1900 per person for 6 nights and air throught Apple Vacations). If you have any suggestions, please let me know!! Also, any ideas on where to get a small cake in PDC/RM? I was going to just have the resort do it but am looking at other options. I am excited to talk to you guys and get ideas!!
  12. Here are a few examples I came across: We're getting ready to depart on a romantic trip which is only the start Bride's Name and Grooms's Name will be married on Date Location Please join us for a reception when we return Date and time of reception Location City ------------ Bride's name and Groom's name were united in marriage on the twenty-sixth of February two thousand and seven at sunset om the island of St. John U.S.Virgin Islands Please join them as they celebrate their vows on date time location address city --------- I came across less formal wording that started with "We took the plunge..." and invites your guest to come celebrate, but I can not find it at this time. If and when I do, I will post it!

The majority of our guest have already made it clear that they plan to leave us alone after our wedding. They know that it is our honeymoon and respect that.
  14. We are starting to consider switching our location to RM, Mexico and this list is very handy!! Thanks so much Jason!!
  15. Hello Nancy from Lansing MI! That is awsome you joined to help choose a destination. We were planning on Punta Cana but are also looking at alternatives as well. Good luck!! Everyone here is super helpful!!
  16. Some friends of ours recommended a jeweler to us and we had my ring custom made. Aaron hand picked all of the diamonds also. Like metioned before, you can save a ton going this route rather than the chain stores. My ring cost $5200. It is a 3 stone setting with 4 channel set diamonds on each side, set in white gold. My center stone is .80 ct, and the total weight is 2.2ct. I also wanted a European shank, which is rather hard to find in the chain stores. We actually found a ring very similar to mine at a chain store and they wanted $8900 for it.
  17. We are not sure if we are helping any of our guests yet, but if we do not, I am planning that we will have $7500 into our wedding. We are staying at an AI for 7 days, which will cost us $3000 for an ocean view room, $800 for airfare, and we are paying $600 to upgrade the complementary wedding package to include a dinner and hour of hors d’ oeuvres, the bride's hair & makeup, flowers, centerpiece, and others, including a room for groom the night before the wedding.

  19. Hello and welcome from one Punta Cana bride to another!

We have not booked Excellence yet because it is a bit early yet. As far as Paradisus PC, I had heard that they no longer do weddings, but I unfortnately can not remember where from, sorry! My only concern is that the Punta Cana area will not have enough activities for all of my guests for a whole week. I know if I spend 7 days in the pool I will be fried and sick!! Who knows!!
  21. Just remember everyone, with the multiple colors of sand in the bottles, if it is not completely filled to the brim and then closed or glued shut, the colors will blend together and make one solid color with movement of the bottles. I remember this as a kid, with the "sand art" that used to be popular I would hate for someone to have their sand ceremony and plan to take a bottle home in their luggage or carry on, only to find once home the movement ruined it!
  22. Welcome to the forum Jill!! Your website looks great and I love your work!
