That is absolutley awful!! Eventhough I am not planning a wedding here it is good that you are passing along the information. I believe in consumer power...bad service should never be rewarded! If I ever hear of anyone thinking of this place I will let them know about this.

As a person that has paid to go to a friends DW we appreciated the cost being only around $1200. Guests are mostly coming in twos and $1400 puts a couple at almost $3000 where $1200 is closer to $2000 (2400). Is that wierd logic?? Anyways I agree that it is your day and do what you want, I am definetly keeping guests costs a major factor because what is important to me is certain people being able to go. Not an easy decision.

Congrats on your engagement!! I was also looking at Europe when we first started (and there is one bride on the site getting married in Greece), but since we choose a January wedding, we decided it wasn't hot enough for us there, so now we are looking at CR and Mexico (MR). I have since learned, on this site, that if travelling to Costa Rica from Canada there are restrictions on the flights. Very difficult to get a flight from Canada from like April to Oct. So keep that in mind. Where abouts are you from in Canada (I'm in Ottawa) Good luck and let us know all updates on the planning.

Hey Stephanie, congrat's on your up and coming wedding. I know not a lot of brides here are going with an all inclusive. But you can find lots of resorts that include weddings in your stay for free. My friend got married in DR (coming from Canada) and guests got a weeks AI vacation for just under $1200 per person. That is also what she paid and she got married there! Which I don't think is bad. First maybe list your requirements..i.e children stay free, lots of excursions available, wedding free, legal requirements.... then go from there. It will cut down on the number of possibilities for you. Good luck, and will be looking for all your wedding plan updates.

Welcome to the site. I am east of you in Ottawa and am actually getting married early 2009 so don't worry about getting info too early. Ho wcan you be too prepared? That is my thinking. Anyways you will get lots of tips on the site, unfortuately everyone has such great ideas that you want to do them all. I am seriously considering Tulum Dreams, and am waiting to hear how a few of you do on your weddings as I am unable to find many posting from people who have gotten married there since the renovations. The forum you gave will come in handy to learn more, unfortunately I get addicted to sites and now I have another one to scope out everyday. Not sure to kiss yah or swat yah. lol.. Hope eveything goes well for you, and even though you are new to this forum I am sure you can give us lots more useful tips.

I just have to say your ring is beautiful (as I have the same one lol) only mine has five diamonds on each side instead of seven. Is it weird that I don't even know how many carrots mine is. I have only gotten the question once (how many carrots?) and I responded by saying " I never asked. Ron picked it out perfectly for me."
