amy - im happy to give you my 2 cents for the most part my pricing includes a flat fee for DWs and i book my own travel, choose where i stay etc... as a photographer i have to tell you it is so much easier and more convenient to stay where the activities are going to take place. sometimes travel from one location to the next can be an adventure and unpredictable in a foreign country and you dont want your photographer to be late. also is your resort an AI? are you going to have to pay a day rate for the photogs to come on site for the wedding? when im traveling for DWs one of my main concerns is making everything easy and relaxing for me and the couple. i try to predict any problems as best i can and help things go as smoothly as possible. i bet almost any wedding photographer would tell you one of the major stresses of the day is getting to the wedding. so my packages are really set up to where i pick where im going to stay (there are some exceptions to that but rarely). sometimes it turns out to cost a little more than i estimated but i just suck it and pay cause i dont want to be across town in some mexican city that im not familiar with trying to get to the wedding. if i did things differently and the couple were going to book my stay and wanted to put me somewhere else besides the wedding i wouldnt be offended! but remember they may be coming over to your site 2-3 times over the weekend and there maybe a fee to get into the resort each time. lastly i would suggest arranging their travel back and forth from their hotel to yours. you are probably talking to a lot of travel advisors over there who could help you with that. ok. hths your wedding looks lovely. congrats!!!

here are my thoughts on the subject. "pale" untanned skin photographs better than fake baked "orange" skin. no doubt about that. i had one DW wedding where it was pretty obvious there had been a fair amount of fake baking and fake tanning lotion used prior to the wedding and the bride and bridesmaids seriously had an orange cast to them. ive never had a bride who looked bad because she was pale but ive had brides whos fake skin color/weird lines (you know like you get down your arms from a tanning bed or when the tanning lotion isnt applied quite right!) looked really noticeable. i understand part of the destination wedding look is that sunkissed glow but sometimes it can go wrong. i know you dont want to look like casper on your wedding day but you dont want to look like louis the lobster either.

hi! im not planning one but im shooting one in riviera maya in may. there will be 10 guests. they are planning a cocktail hour and dinner after the ceremony. we will go take photos during the cocktail hour. but we wont be gone the entire time. who doesnt love a cocktail hour. and with a wedding that small you could totally customize it and make it fun - a lot of little extras. what time of the day are you planning your ceremony? that could make a difference too.

id sure try this at least once before the wedding week. what if it made you sick as a dog
