okay, I have just one question, why no sun for 2 months before the wedding?? I'm so white, if I go to mexico without doing some tanning first, I'm going to fry my first day there!
-
ann, but at least you have the option of not getting dressed in the morning, lol! See for me, I go into the office, and its basically just to socialize, and then I play around on the computer for awhile, make a few phone calls, do some paperwork, etc.... I think the thing that I've started to hate the most is driving because when I first started I was driving about 600 miles a week, I felt like I was always in my car and even now if FI asks me to go to the store 2 minutes down the road, I just don't want to go, its like I hate the car now!! WTF is wrong with me, I am losing it!

Very small intimate weddings?

I am orginally from waltham but now live in town (boston). I didn't do a scouting trip, which really scared me in the beginning, but Leigh & Brendastar on here both did scouting trips & they're both getting married there, so that reassured me that it was a beautiful place! I don't have any candid shots of the gazebo, but I love to go on tripadvisor, I don't read the reviews that much, just in case, but they have candid pictures that you can look at, theres a ton of them, and I know there are some gazebo shots there as well. And there are so many other pictures of parts of the resort that you've probably never even seen, its really cool. Thats great that you got your dress! I still have not bought a dress, its really bugging me! I live in Holland, next town over from sturbridge, if you know where that is, lol! right on the border of western mass. downtown boston, that must be so much fun, I often wish I would have lived in the city for a year or so on my own either during college or after college, I think it would have been a great experience. -
I know, I keep thinking about it. I look sometimes, but its so hard when I have no idea what I want to do. I am transferring offices in the next month or so to one closer to where I live, so I'm hoping that will help, but its going to be a lot of starting over (I'm in sales) and I just don't think I have the energy for it anymore. You're right it really does consume your whole life, I just feel so blah about it, I barely do anything at work, its awful, and I blame it on the fact that I'm only there for another month, but I could be doing stuff, I just don't want to anymore. I really just want a job where I can work from home.

*JillD* replied to DEE1978's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I sent a letter as my STD, and mentioned that we really hoped everyone would be able to join us, but I think most people know without you telling them that they don't have to go, most of our friends love the idea, its mostly the extended family and some of the close family that don't. We're paying for everything ourselves and we couldn't see ourselves spending $25,000 on a wedding that was going to last for 5 hours. So instead we'll spend about half that and have an 11 day vacation & our wedding as well. I am having my wedding at the gazebo, the gazebo is what made me fall in love with dreams cancun, I loved it! You can only do reservations in one of the restaurants if you have 20 guests or less(as far as I know). They said you have to choose the menu before hand and additional charges could apply (not sure what that means, maybe just depends what kind of menu you choose) and they said they could accomodate us at world cafe or oceana. I don't know if its a private area but at least you'll all be together. Depending on what you're looking to spend, if you want it to be more private you could do one of the packages, they include cocktail hour & reception(which you could make just dinner, not the other stuff) and it includes some other things you many want like a bouquet, hair & makeup, etc. there are different packages that include different things. let me know if you have any other questions -

we're supposed to get hit tonight too with freezing rain, maybe some snow too, should be lovely for work tomorrow! I went on ebay and I have some bids in right now for the turbojam set, winsor pilates set, & cindy crawford-the next challenge (I used to have this one & loved it) so I will soon have something at the very least! And until then I have the trusty treadmill, my arms are so sore from the workout I did last night!

I saw dvd on ebay tonight called bridal workout, I think?, bridal something and it was an exercise video and also talked about your skin & health & stuff like that to get ready for the wedding. But I had already bid on a cindy crawford dvd (btw, I figured out its the second one that I used to do, so thats the one I ordered, the next challenge) and I also bid on a turbojam set, and a winsor pilates set, I figured that was enough online shopping for tonight, lol!

we are leaning towards the IPOD & CD's as well, but we were considering buying the bose IPOD system and bringing it with us, if this will eliminate the cost, and the cost we'll spend on the bose system, at least we'll have it for at home as well. I think Sarah (sassygirl) may be doing this in Cabo, so I'm anxious to see how it works for her. I would assume that the price for the sound system for the ceremony, is probably the same for the reception, maybe you get a little bit of a deal because its for a longer time, but it seems like you could get a dj for almost the same price and not have to worry about anything. -
I love that one, whats with the suspense!! Lol!! You can't do this too us!!

You have now crossed over into the DW club, where no ones family is happy about the choice, but they eventually either get over it or don't come. Its your wedding & your special day and no one should make it about them. -
Welcome Cooper, your pictures are beautiful!

Frustrated a bit with WC
*JillD* replied to BRENDASTAR's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hey Brenda, if it makes you feel any better I heard that claudia was out for a week or so, for a much needed break after all of the weddings they've had, so that could be part of the problem with slow responses. Also, I in the original dreams cancun thread I posted a file they sent me yesterday about the cakes, they give pictures & prices, let me know if you can't find it and I can email it to you, but that might help you. As for the flowers, I was told that we could make those decisions when we got there, which I don't mind because I'm not that concerned with the flowers I have an idea of what I want and if they can do something close I'll be happy. But you probably want more for flowers than I do. Were you not able to find anything that you liked in the options that she gave us? Or did you just want more? I hope you get everything figured out. My TA emailed her last week and didn't get a response so she ended up calling her manager, and thats when she found out that claudia had been out. I think she said she requested that they have an autoreply when she is out so that we will know the response will be delayed, we'll see if they listen, lol! -

Tammy, I would be bald if I were that close and people still hadn't booked. I never wait that last minute to book a trip out of the country! Thats insane! Not to mention because I'm so unsure of numbers I feel like I can't plan anything, its already making me crazy! -

I haven't decided on a DJ yet either, because I'm not exactly sure how many people we're going to have. I want to get my invitations out soon & back so I can make arrangements. -
Ring quality
*JillD* replied to MikkiStreak's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow, I can't believe all the problems you're having with your ring, this does not sound normal at all! I have a white gold band, with 6 prongs, I am pretty rough on my ring, without meaning to be and nothing like this has ever happened. And you shouldn't have to pay for these repairs, you bought the ring from them, they should stand behind their product. And I would most certainly never buy from them again! -
I agree, I think I'm going to look on ebay or amazon tonight and find some good ones. I really love aerobics classes, so much more than the treadmill!
-
BTW, I found out who the photographer at dreams is, okay I just went to look for the email and I must have deleted it. His name was Juan Navarro (I think) and he does not have a website yet, its under construction. I've never heard of him, not sure if anyone else has. I know most of us hired our own photographer, but in case anyone is still wondering, thats him.

Do you know if there's some kind of restriction on the time you have for the private room for th reception? I want to party all night long, or until my guests decide that they're done. Do you think it's going to cost me $$$$$$$$? Thanks, Sabina Hi Sabina, If you go back to the beginning of this thread, theres a bunch of information about posted about different charges and options, etc.. I don't know if there is a time limit, I know the cabo girls said everything there has to end at 11, but I'm not sure about cancun. That would probably be a good question for claudia. I kind of figured that if people still wanted to party one of the bars at the resort would still be open and we could just go hang out there, but I don't know what time they close, it would probably be a good idea if I checked on this, lol! I also got my own photographer, but haven't figured out the dj part yet, who are you using? Please let me know if I can help with anything! -
Very small intimate weddings?
*JillD* replied to DEE1978's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We are having a small wedding as well. Right now we have 10 people, including us, booked. We have a lot of people that have said they're coming, but some I know won't, so we're estimating 20-25. We are doing a package as well, it includes cocktail hour & reception, our resort did tell us that if we had less than 20 people we could just make reservations at one of the restaurants, so that would make it less expensive, but I think we really want to have some privacy and be able to dance and stuff like that. But I'm like you, a lot of our decisions depend on how many people are coming. If it stays at 10, then I really don't think we will do the reception, it would be silly, and what would the point of dancing be with 10 of us. So, I really need to get a better count so I can plan! -
I think I want electrolosis (sp.?) I hate shaving! How often do you have to do this and how much does it cost?
