  2. Great customs tip Natasha! Orange and fuschia daisies could be really pretty! I think this weekend I need to go and buy different things (flowers, fruit, etc.) and put something together. I feel like if I'm creative I can come up wioth something beautiful AND cost effective! Natasha - do you think tiki torchers could work to bring light in? I think I'm going to have these, candles, and those candles in paperbags (do you know what I mean?)
  3. For me (I figured I should answer since I asked!) it will depend on what dress I buy and how jmuch I pay for it. If I end up paying $1000 or less I will keep it (I'm a pretty sentimental person). Depending ont he dress I may have it altered into a regular dress (which only works if it's not very wedding-y) If I buy my dream dress (Monique Lhuillier's Scarlett) and pay a lot of money for it then I will sell it after to try and make some of the money back... I will definitely keep the saree i wear at the rehearsal dinner...
  4. Great review Natasha! It sounds (and looks) like the vast majority of your wedding was beautiful and perfect. I'm so sorry to hear about how Casa del Mar treated you guys with the whole "bait and switch" (did they do thuis with the food?) and the rooms, and the whole issue caused by the construction. I think your wedding looked perfect but I agree with your HUSBAND that they shouldn't be rewarded with any business... maybe the opposite!
  5. I tink we have a "Buy, Sell Trade" folder somewhere... I think it would be a great place to list wedding dresses (and other items) for sale! People could also list "Wanted" items - dresses and decor - because a lot of the time people may have something in the back of their closet that they dont' even think of sellgin until they see someone who's looking for that same thing...
  6. Great idea Ann! I think it would be great to list dressmakers too... New & Used: Pre Owned Wedding Dresses.com Craigslist - in all the major cities Los Angeles: craigslist: los angeles classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events New York: craigslist: new york city classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events Chicago: craigslist: chicago classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events Loehman's - it's the luck of the draw here! But you can find Vera Wang and more... sometimes! Dress Makers: Bridal Dress4U (Also advertises on eBay) Brides by Liza - Sherman Oaks, CA (Natasha worked with her) Sample Sales: Find them on Daily Candy OR TopButton.com
  7. amazingy beautiful! You are stunning - I love the chinese lanterns and just everything!
  8. How was Casa del Mar? It must have looked really amazing - it's such a gorgeous property!
  9. I am going to use DJ Ricardo Patiño DJ SYSTEM: [email protected] I'm glad to hear you liked him Natasha!
  10. Natasha - your dress looked really gorgeous on you in the pics! I called Liza the other day and she said to stop by anytime before 7pm. So I'm going to see what happens on Thursday (sample sale at ML) and then go see her and see what she thinks. The original is done with french lace and silk underneath... I don't think i need silk as long as it moves the same way and really a cheaper lace is fine as long as it's still pretty! I hope she's familiar with the dress - I love that she can get more pictures of it too since she's a reseller! I'll let you know what happens! And honestly if I can get a dress that is identical to the one I want (whether it says Monique Lhuillier on the label or not) then $2K would be worth it... I;d rather not spend that much since a custom made dress has less resale value but still it's still less than 50% of the original price so there's something to be said for that! Who knows! Maybe I'll go to the store and Thursday and me and Sarah can be matching brides!
  11. I knew it was one of OUR Karlas! Absolutely stunning - you can really see how in love you guys are and that makes the pictures even that much more gorgeous!
  12. You look so beautiful! Really gorgeous - the whole wedding looks like it was perfect! Congratulations!

I can't really think of a good fruit! Those are so cute! I feel like you could really make these plates (or the bowls which are cute) work with (floating?) blue candles and maybe some shells/ mini starfish etc. You could ptu the shells in the bowl/plate or just scatter then around the dishes... very cute. My colors are red, orange, yellow and pink... put that creative (and thrifty) brain to work! Oranges? Strawberries? pink gerber daisies?

Tammy - I love those centerpeices - so beautiful and sophisticated but also very colorful!

But really- it's so true - it's not like you TammyM haven't been GREATLY inconvenienced. For that same person to then turn around and be rude and disrespectful is just not OK. It also sounds liek at this point there;s nothg you yourself can do - you've tried to be nice. You've tried to make peace. Cain has to talk to her and then she needs to move out - the sooner the better!
  16. Tammy - I'm so sorry about this awful situation. I think you should just avoid her. If she wants to be a big baby and pout then she can. Right now she's clearly tryign to make Cain feel bad for her (hence her stupid actions and stupid words) so he can take her side. Think of her as a small, insolent child and just ignore her. If she feels so awful why doesn't she move out?!? I mean really - I know it's not cost effective but she's a grown woman. I'm sure she could rent an efficiency for the next two months and start her OWN life... Also we know how hard you've been trying. Just be strong!
  17. I agree with all of the above! Vistaprint's magnets are cute and very affordable. I would look into getting them and then mail them after the holidays so they dont' get lost in the shuffle. Vistaprint also has very affordable post-cards if you wanted to go that route. Wait until their "Free Offer" and you can get 100 postcards or 25 magnets for free.
  18. Welcome Kellie! I wish I had started planning earlier actually. And the reason isn't what you think! The thing is that planning the wedding - especially will all the great people and help I got from this board - is so much FUN! I always thought it was going to be awful but the more I'm doing it the more I love it... I'll have to come up with some new hobbies after my June '07 wedding! The only thing I wouldn't do is buy a dress for awhile. I think there's been a lot of people who bought their dress early and then got sick of it by the time the wedding came along! That is unless you find THE dress... that's another story entirely!

So I'm happy that he at least agrees that I'm not being bitchy and that I have a valid point. She is still saying that her dog will be out of the house by this weekend, the only thing we can think of is she called her Ex-FI to come pick him up. I told Cain she is totally over reacting and he said we (him and I ) wouldn't have to harp on AL all the time if he listened better. Then she trys to give me a guilt trip saying she can't really afford this house in two months right now but is getting it now because she knows she's not welcome in the house. OMG, first of all, she is saying how she wants to put hardwood floors in and paint the house before she moves in,, well for someone who "can't afford" living in there right now, she certainly knows how to spend the money she doesn't have. I mean how come she can't have carpet until she can "afford" to get hardwood floors? This is hell,, I mean really.. I think after today I'll be weighing in 5 pounds less after my workout because I'll be taking out all my stress. TammyM - Dont' let her try and make you feel guilty. That is SO typical of someone who is seeking attention. It's always "poor me" and "I'm sacrificing" and it's just bullsh*t. She's realized that she acted inappropriately and now she is trying to backtrack and pretend it's about something else. Think of it this way - at least you'll get a great workout tonight! Seriously though, hang in there. When the time is right the three of you can sit down and if you're not ready, then it's Cain's turn to make this work. It is his mother and his FI (you) and therefore it is his responsibility to make sure everyone is being treated with respect. What's good is it sounds like he is starting to understand what is going on when he's not looking. I think once he make sit clear that he disapporves of her irrational and childish behavior she will quickly (hopefully) shape-up. And there is NO reason to paint or put in new floors before you move into a new place. If she couldn't afford the house then it wouldn't even have ocurred to her to start renovating it!

I need to recruit some friends and buy a whistle... Seriously - the store opens at 10am - what time should I go? They let in 30 peeps at a time and of course the good stuff (and bigger stuff because it can always be altered DOWN) go first. Like 7am? earlier? later?
  21. I will! PM me your cell phone number and I will totally call you if I see it in your size!!!! Do you want the Scarlet too? I think at 80% off it's like $1000 with tax (8.25% here in CA) Too bad we didn't wear the same size/same height - we could have shared!
  22. I never thought of fruit! What a great idea! Hmmm.... plus people could take it back to their rooms with them (unlike flowers) at the end of the night and eat it later... I need to rethink my centerpeices! Plus I bet fruit is a whole lot more affordable than flowers!
  23. I know! I am terrified that when I go to the sample sale it's going to be this crazy b*tch-fest with people clawing and biting... yikes! Well they let only 30 people in at a time so maybe it won't be TOO bad! Yuck - I hate this type of thing. But like Ann said, "A brides gotta do do what a brides gotta do!"
  24. hee hee hee... not a bad idea! The designer is having a sample sale this weekend and their samples are 40 - 80% off. IF they have the dress and IF it's in my size and IF it's 80% off then I'll buy it! Otherwise I may have to start using some of our deceitful tactics!

I'll let you know tomorrow how I did! I totally ate too much on Saturday - yuck! Anyway I was really good yesterday and plan on staying on track from here on out - I need to lose another 2 pounds or so to hit 10 lbs... I can't way! I stopped and was thinking that even if I just lose 1/2 a pound from here until June (my wedding) I'll hgave met my goal weight... hopefully I cna do it faster than that though! I love that we have some many people now with us!
