  2. in RM that is what you have to do is have them as guests at the resort.

  4. welcome to the forum...there are a few cabo october brides...cheese-diva being one of them... let us know how we can help.
  5. for us at dreams, i let them run wild...you are outdoors, it is very festive so they did not distract from the reception at all...there was this croquet set up nex to the tables so they were playing that...then dancing with the rest of us etc.
  6. JEN, most of us hired outside photogs instead of getting the hotel photography package. so i do not know who riu's onsite photographer is.

  8. there is more info here as well. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t672 i ordered some things from minimus but was also able to find other minis elsewhere...
  9. welcome to the forum! let us know how we can help. what type of group do you have? ones that like to shop? or looking for more seclusion?

I'm trying to finalize my decision of location, I've emailed Riu Palace, Dreams, Gran Bahia and Grand Palladium for information and rates about 1 to 2 weeks ago, and so far heard NOTHING!!! Hoping that with a TA, I'll get some information more quickly. Once I have the place reserved I can relax! magsie, yes you are in...i have a few "maybe" that i am working on and if they all go ahead i cannot take any new weddings for 2007...but if some drop out, i will have a couple spots open. magsie, why don't you email me the questions you have for the resorts...then i will ask the resorts and let you know what i find...GP usually get back to me pretty quickly. regarding room block: this is something i would rather not discuss on the forum because each resort has a different way they do the block so i do not want to generalize and have a bride take that answer as the only answer.
  11. magsie, grand palladium is most responsive (i usually gt an answer within a day) and riu the least but i have not worked with gran bahia on weddings. in terms of price riu palace is by far more expensive.
  12. the latest winner are... Sarah (aqharider) Stephanie (raenjay)

  16. Sunset, it is def. a better way to book via a travel agent for your wedding for a bunch of reasons...here are a few: 1. they can negotiate a group block for you so you have rooms reserved for your guests at a set rate. expedia/orbitz rates are not unlimited so you may have a few rooms at the lower rate but not all 20 that you need. also, the more popular resorts book early (some as much as 7 months in advance!) and i am not sure if your wedding guests will all book 7 months in advance so it is good to have those rooms set aside for them. 2. your TA may be able to negotiate perks like: free/reduced site visit free private event free upgrade for the bride and groom 3. you have some one to call if things go wrong. Wedding coordinators get back to me pretty quickly. 4. so many people call me to check rates, but find them lower somewhere else...i usually get a call back about a month later that those rates weren't available because of restrictions, etc. one more thing to consider...if you want to go through apple, why dont you have a TA do that. apple is one of my suppliers but i do not use them much because my clients call me about this great rate on apple...when i investigate further find out it did not include tax so they have to add on another $300 so the deal is no longer that great. if this is the case for you, at least your TA will be able to help you find a cheaper rate somewhere else. if you end up booking apple, then they can help manage the trips, etc i would volunteer but i am booked full for 2007 unless i get a cancellation but i may be able to refer someone to you.
  17. just a quick FYI for people. October is the low season in RM/Cancun (with hurricanes and all)...so these rates are lower than june/july/november and especially december.
  18. welcome tot he forum elle...be sure to submit to jonathan's free photo wedding package giveaway...

May I ask what you included with the SDT? I think I may want to do this. And how long did you give everyone to respond? My wedding is not until a year and a half but I would like to get STD's out within the next couple of months just so I can give people time to save. And the RSVP's may help me determine how many rooms to block. -Glenda you could always have your STD with your website address, then have an RSVP page on your website?

  22. hi brenda, have you thought of submitting for jonathan's contest. he is giving away a free wedding package and he will make a decision by jan. 31. all you need to do is pay for his airfare and lodging but it would be sooo worth it.
  23. glenda, the ladies have given you awesome advice. do not let others guilt and issues become YOUR problem. when we first decided on a DW we thought we were lucky if 10 people came because my mom just guilt tripped the heck out of me. well we had almost 60 and they ALL had a blast and my mom is so pro-DW now! she is the hypocrite
  24. what is your per room/per night price range? if budget is not an issue, i'd say azul blue
