The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

MnM2- We have not picked an operator yet. We are still googling different companies and pricing it all out. We are right on the cusp of 20 people.... over 20 and it starts getting pretting expensive! So far, I've found either a sunset 2 hour cruise or a 4 hour cruise that stops for snorkeling. I have not priced out a transport service yet, but I want that to be part of our "thank you" cruise as well.

Have you looked into other excursion option? Have you found anything interesting? I've done a lot of the excursions in Mexico and most take at least a half a day. I'm still open to finding something cool that doesn't take my guests away from the beach too long.

What day are you arriving? Have you booked your room? We just booked an ocean front and I'm so excited!!!!

MnM2Mexico and AmyandRich - We are also planning a catamaran/snorkeling excursion but haven't finalized anything since we really have no clue as to how many people are actually coming to our wedding. I know that one of the past brides used a company which I am pretty sure is listed on page 1 here. I don't think she paid too much for it. If you find any good vendors, please let me know! I will do the same. Thanks

We've hired a DJ for our reception but not sure what we are going to do for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I was interested in the violionist or guiterist for the ceremony. However, I'd like to have someone that could play for the ceremony and play for the cocktail hour. Anyone have any suggestions?

You can have the mexican trio at the cocktail hour or the caribbean group...most girls had a CD for their music for the ceremony

Hey Carmen! What DJ did you end up hiring? I feel like I am so behind and our day is so soon!!!

Okay ladies, I finally got around to updating the thread but I only got so far as updating the bride list (including links to review and detailed information) as I hadn't done it in 3 months (yikes!) and that alone took me an hour or more. So I will have to save updating page 1 with the info from the new Wedding Guide for another day.

All new brides who sent me their info should now be listed, if you are not listed send me your info! (you can just reply in this thread and don't worry, I will see it, even if I don't reply I will save the info for next time I update it).

Do you guys plan to add an invite to the excursion in your wedding invite or in a seperate invite?

Amy
Well I already sent out my invitations and didn't mention the excursion on them. I can only do this if 40-45 guests go, anymore than that and I think it will be out of my budget. I also haven't announced it to any guests in case I can't afford to do it. Once I get a good idea of how many people are going then I will start to spread the news.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
