We stayed at this resort (in Coba) a few years ago and it was beautiful. I absolutely agree with you about the rooms. I believe that our guests would rather have the newer rooms with the ammenities that they offer compared to being close to the beach. Every situation is different and the brides really need to know their groups.

Can you please tell me more about the private reception that you're having? This is what we're looking at as well...and although there are alot of posts in this forum about this...I think you would probably have the most current pricing and information. Mainly, I am curious about the location? price per adult? price per child (if you're having any children there)? price of DJ? what type of drinks are offered? if they have an alternate (inside) location in case of rain? Anything else that might be helpful...

Everything about your wedding sounds exactly how I have things "planned" in my head as well...right down to the number of people attending and everything :)
Hi Emme,

The reception is poolside and the charge is basically for the set up. They do cocktail tables with cloths and open a bar which is normally closed. You get your own waiter and bartender. Here are the options:

1. Special Cocktail
Sparkling wine, Beer, Margaritas, Piña Colada
5USD /Pers extra hour 3 USD /Pers

2. National Bar:
Beer, Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Cocktails, Gin
17 USD/pers/hour
extra hour: 12 USD/pers

3. International Bar:
Beer, Tequila, Rum, Vodka Absolute, Whisky JW, Chivas 24 USD/pers/hour
Regal, Cutty Sark, Cocktails, Gin Beefeaters, extra hour: 18 USD/pers wine of the house, sparkling wine

We are doing option 1 as we found thats what we usually drank on holidays anyways, and there is apparently a lobby bar near by if people really want a different drink.

We are renting it for 2 hours and hiring a DJ. His cost is $150 US per hour.

I tried attaching the photos of the wedding site we are being given but it keeps saying invalid file.... can anyone let me know how to put photos onhuh.gif If not PM me your email address and I will send them to you.

Let me know if you have any other questions... Can't wait, less than 2 months!!!!!!!

We were told that the DJ is $150 per hour. He is provided by the hotel, but must be paid in cash prior to the wedding. I have heard many good things about him. The bar costs are seperate from his services.

Hi Erica,

We booked it shortly after confirming our wedding date. There are only so many locations, so if you decide its something you want, I'd say book it sooner than later! Dates fill up quickly, as it was we got the last wedding that week. But they made us wait till we knew which tour company we were traveling with before they would confirm our date, which was very nerve racking!!! But it all worked out and now less than 2 months before we board... wooo hoo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
