Playa Fiesta - Average Costs?

Recommended Posts

Jumping in late here.

I visited Playa and both Adam and Lindsay are wonderful. Truly a dream couple to work with. Problem is we really wanted to make it affordable for all of our guests, don't get me wrong, Playa Fiesta is for some but not for all. We visited the hotel and they gave us a beautiful room overlooking the water. We were for sure we would book. We did a tasting that night and the food was beyond delicious!

The only reason why we did not book is because their is no beach (its all rocks) the pool is small and they only have a handful of lounge chairs, so most of our guest would not be able to just chill out all day. We also were torn with having all of our guests pay the same price but not all of the rooms had the same amenities. The room next to the kitchen is small and dark but is still the same price. There was also no activities except the ones your guest plan and that is additional funds. It was hard to not book, but we ended up getting a much better rate at a beautiful all inclusive resort down the road.

Playa Fiesta is great for small parties, but if you don't fill the rooms you are responsible. Something we also thought would be tough.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Kisa - I know what you mean about the disparity between the rooms....however, the one next to the kitchen is discounted 20%. But all the others are the same price, and you have to assign your guests to the rooms. On one hand, I like that we can see who we have coming and then try to assign the rooms best later, but on the other hand, I think it might be tough to assign the rooms.... Anyway, I'm not to the point of assigning rooms yet but when I do, I'll let you know how it goes!!

Hey ladies-

I myself met Lindsay and Adam in May and spent sometime with them. We were considering having our guests stay there and having all of our activites there. When I visited in May there was a wedding going on and believe me they didn't look bored or turned off by there not being a beach with sand or enough chairs. That wasn't the case at all. They were so happy to have this boutique hotel all to themselves. It is truly an amazing option. If you are looking to blow your guests minds, this is the place for you. It is private, the food is amazing, Lindsay & Adam are the best to work with, the open bar is a no brainer and the service is top notch.

The ONLY reason we didn't book is that I have about 8 guests who are coming solo and not sharing a room, this makes it a little costly for them. If you have people sharing a room it is a great deal.

I saw a lot of prices being tossed out on this thread. Some which seemed right others seemed way off. Your best bet is to email Adam & Lindsay, I believe they just got back from vacation so give them a few days. But they are very honest and straight forward. They would be able to answer all your quesitons.

On Sunday I will post an album with tons of pictures I took at Playa Fiesta, BUT remember they are doing some renovations, which I believe are going to be complete soon. I say the construction plans and WOW it is going to be 50x more amazing that it already is.

Any bride who chooses to have their guests stay here. YOu don't even have to do a take over you can just have them book on their own. YOu won't regret it. Yes you do have to consider doing a take over, may mean you are left with paying for rooms when guests back out. But you should know your guests well enough to know if they would leave you with a bill like that.

Happy planning.... I don't want to answer for Lindsay & Adam, but if you do have any additional questions let me know.

Best

That's true, Kathy - some of the prices thrown out on this thread are wacky. If anyone is interested in PF, email Lindsay and Adam and they will send an excel spreadsheet they have prepared with all the costs. This was really helpful for us in setting our budget, and we still use it.

Once you start planning with Lindsay, she'll send you another wedding spreadsheet where you can fill in all the details, etc -it, along with all her help and expertise, make planning a breeze.

Kathy, that is too bad that you loved the resort so much but couldn't make it work with your guests. We have a few single guests coming, but most of them are friends so don't mind sharing. I can't wait to hear how Dreams and Villa Mediterraneo work for you!!

Hello! I am sooo excited to host our wedding at Playa Fiesta. If anyone questions how great it is, they need to look at Trip Advisor and remember: All they do is weddings... but your week, it is all about you. (Or me, ha!)

I have a lot of singles too. I told singles to get ahold of me, and we'll make it work. There might even be 3 in a couple of rooms... to get the right people together. But I'm sure it will all just work itself out. I am not worrying about it.

So Excited! PS: Kate: Sent out my invites today!

YAY!!!! That's awesome. Exciting, isn't it?!? Keep me updated once the RSVPs start rolling in :) k, so we're 6 months away....ahhh!!!

We'll probably end up with a couple rooms with 3 ppl, too. I like the flexibility of being able to do this. And yes, having an entire week all about you and your guests is AMAZING!

Hi. I'm getting married at PF in Oct 2009. Just wondering did you guys book the hotel and flights together through a travel agent? I booked the hotel first and then contacted the the TA. Anyone else? I am worried about the cost of flights. If you booked them all together was is cheaper or just easier for your guests? I really don't think it would have mattered for me since I booked the hotel in April 2008 for a wedding in Oct 2009 and flights still aren't available to look at for Oct 2009. Thanks.

I don't think you can book both together. Your guests need to book their rooms through the playa fiesta website! I believe that is the only way to do it, that is what Adam told me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
