Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Does anyone know if they have table overlays available for the rectangle tables? Now that I am getting actual RSVPs back it looks like there might be only 30 people, and having 10 of those people at a head table might be goofy. Does anyone know what layout they are using for the reception (head table, round tables, ...huh.gif...)?

One per guest is definitely fine! That is what I would do. It adds up and with all of the other stuff they charge you for (LOL)...one is perfect!

I am putting two towels in them (cause i will have two guest to a room), a really funky drinking glass/ mug to keep guests drinks cool during the day at the pool, and a few other small things......haven't totally decided that yet. I only paid $1.99 for two. So a dollar each and they are awesome! looks like i spent like $8.00 per bag! And i figured people could use them again when they get home as well as for the beach while they are there!
Thanks so much!! I will definitely check out Marshall's! Are you shipping this all down or taking it with you. I am so nervous to ship it...plus it gets pricey

I love raffia fans but then I started to think that it might be too much on the chiar, the fan and the maracha - you ladies thinking of doing both?
Oh I'll jump in here too...I was afraid it would be too much so I tweaked the idea slightly and I'm going to have them at everyone's place setting (just one as well for cost reasons) and the tag will say "Shake for a kiss" (instead of at the kiss...)

I reluctantly faxed it a second time after having an extremely rare email back and forth with Ana on Thursday. I asked her to please contact me immediately when she received my info. (011.52.998.848.7001 is the fax I used)
It is now Sunday...no reply. How did you all submit your deposits? How long did it take for confirmation? Do I have the correct fax? I called the Dreams Corp and that is what they gave me. Sooooooo frustrated....any help is appreciated! Thx
Hey, I booked mine just after xmas this year and it took her around 2 weeks to send the details to pay the deposit then another week after sending to
confirm the reciept! Then the contract the following week!bann.gif

Hi Ladies,

I could use some advice. We're trying to book an April 2011 wedding and are still waiting for the DRC wedding coordinator to even acknowledge our request. Its been 2-3 weeks and I'm starting to think that this resort doesn't want my business. I'm tempted to switch to Dreams Tulum because the wedding coordinator there emailed my TA back immediately when we were considering both.

How are you all dealing with these delays?

Advice on 'switching' to a seemingly more responsive location?

Thanks!

Meggan

The final payment from the guests was due last Friday so things got a bit hectic! The good news is, we received a free room!! We actually received 12 free nights (it was an average from what was booked because people are coming for different lengths of time). We ended up taking 7 of the nights for us, and then received a check for the 5 additional nights that we divided up for our wedding party... (which ended up being about $250 a person, not much but was nice for them to get some $$$ back).

I know some of you said you did not receive the promotion because you were a wedding .... I am not sure why we received the promotion, but we went with Apple Vacations and they actually own Dreams...huh.gif If any of you have not picked a travel agent yet, I would suggest contacting Apple and finding an agent to see if you can get this promotion, it is still advertised on their website!
that offer sounds great! how many people were in your party, or more specifically how did it come about that it was 12 free nights. thanks for the tip

Hi Ladies! I just decided on Dreams RC for my wedding and my TA has contacted the TA to secure my date!! smile159.gif Hopeffully May 6th or 7th 2011.

I noticed that the main complaint is the privacy or lack of for the ceremony sites, does anyone know if they have added a more private ceremony site or have moved the location of the beach site.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
