Yes we are getting the Ultimate Package as well. When I spoke with Tiara she said it only included the ceremony. I have always wanted the whole day to be captured. We did think for a long time about just getting what the package came with but ultimately decided to just go for it. I was worried that during the dancing or cocktail party I would be so concerned with making sure that someone was taking our photos and making sure they were decent that it was worth it just to spend the money and know everything was taken care of. Honestly I think it just depends how much you care about photos. For us it's a major thing, but for other things like flowers or centrepieces we don't care at all. I've seen a few pictures that the resort photographer took and they seem fine. I think the best thing to do is look for posses and photos you like from other people's wedding to get ideas. I am printing off my favourites to show the photographer what we like.

I totally agree with you Stacey about the pictures being so important. I guess I just didn't realize till now. So I had emailed the resort photographer asking what was included for $200 in for the TTD shoot and told her our wedding was on April 21 at DLR and she wrote back saying, yes we are available for your wedding on the 21st as well, do you have our 2010 packages? I was like UMM excuse me what? I thought we already had you booked through the resort for our wedding? So confused!

Oh thats scary!!!! Thats why I have got emails confirming everything so far, and I've made a wedding book with all the emails printed out and glued into it. My h2b thinks I'm neurotic but I will have it with me so I have everything at hand.

Just wanted to share some stupidity with you girls...

I assumed that when we booked the Ultimate wedding package that we were getting the GOLD photography package (listed on the "Extras" list on the Dreams Resort website), b/c you do get the GOLD cocktail party and GOLD dinner. I guess I overlooked the fact that the GOLD photography package is listed at $2000 in itself. What is included in the Ultimate package sounds like the bronze package for $600. Does anyone know for sure?

I sent an email to Tiara today with a million and one questions. I really hope she answers me... and addresses all my questions. Or at least half of them! I haven't bugged her/sent her an email in over 5 months. We are 3 months from arrival at the resort, so now I'm starting to get serious about things!

I also agree that photography is extremely important on your wedding day and it's not the place to scrimp. Has anyone used the resort photographer and chosen the Bronze ($600), Silver ($1200) or Gold ($2000) packages offered through Dreams?

Oh no Jenne! I hope that gets straightened out right away! If you ever get an answer about the TTD session, please share.

Also, has anyone inquired about engagement photos with the resort photog?

Here is what I was told:

As for the Trash Your Wedding Dress Session alone:
we start at U$200
30 to 45 minutes with a professional wedding photographer around gardens, & beach areas
which includes 15 images on CD

I asked for their 2010 package list but haven't received it yet.

Wow that's not very much time! The main reason why I wanted to hire my own photographer is to make sure we are on the same page before we even get there. If you are only getting 45 minutes that's not enough time for a photographer to get to know you a little bit and see what you like and don't like for photos. I was also afraid of a possible language barrier. Let us know what you decide to do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
