Well I am Canadian and we actually celebrate Thanksgiving in October... but for our American friends it is today. It has something to do with the pilgrims coming over from Europe and settling at Plymouth Rock, Mass. (I have been there LOL) and having a big meal with the local Natives? LMAO. Ok, maybe an American should tell the story because I am clearly talking out of my S&M.gif

haha

There was a boat called the Mayflower, pilgrims, a rock (which isn't very big) and Pocahontas! rofl.gif

Essentially, it's time with your family to eat turkey and be thankful for all that you have! hug2.gif

Another February bride here girls....I share February 2 with Susie Q. This is 2nd marriage for us. We are getting married at 5:30 PM on the beach at Grand Cozumel.

Now here's my question, even tho my hunney and I were actually in Cozumel at this same time last year, I cannot for the life of me remember when the sun started settinghuh.gif I would like about 1/2 hr after ceremony for pictures....will a 5:30 start be too late?

I see you are from Ontario Susie Q, me too, where are you departing from and when, maybe we will be at the same airport? we are leaving Jan. 31 from Toronto.

Looking forward to a few more chats before the big day !!!!

funny I have to be very honest ... when I left my ex husband I took off my watch and I have not worn one since.... I realized, my time was over and I didn't need to keep track of time ever again...I waited long enough for something to end.... I have been to Mexico 4 times since and for the life of me I can not tell you what time the sun sets.... I have a self directed clock I wake up before 7am... if I need to wake up earlier I tell myself the time and I can wake up within ten minutes of that time.. by the way welcome & happy planning

PS: shellK will tell you I am a witch... don't believe her!!

i dont know what to do about the hen night.i have 2 options pole+burlesque dancing for 2hrs then to a pub to get drunk or go to a place that has a live band and a meal.what would be your ladies 1st choice?i think the dancing would be fun but dont know how many friends would actually participate even though they would have fun watching.

Does the first option involve you guys dancing or is it a burlesque show that are you watching. Either way, I think that one sounds like fun! Different from the normal girl's night out. :)

Susieq- that's some internal clock you have. I don't have one, but my dog seems to know to wake me up every day 10 minutes before my alarm is supposed to go off. Drives me crazy.

Pole dancing sounds fun and special... maybe you all could do a shot on the way in to take the edge off. I took a striptease class with a gf a few years ago and we would chug a beer first... liquid courage :)

Thanksgiving started just as Svete said... pilgrims (from UK) and Indians (Natives).. eating together to celebrate the harvest ... now its a time of year when we get together with our families and eat gluttonous amounts of food- especially turkey.

Im actually English by birth, we moved to the states when I was 5... our Thanksgiving dinner looks like Sunday roast (with a turkey)... we had roast spuds, parsnips, yorkie pud, brussel sprouts etc etc.. very t

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
