Yeah I sometimes feel like that.... I just try to keep in mind what the past Dream brides say. They have posted that she is really busy... Maybe we can answer your questions or some past Dream brides can....

Yeah thanks JT3...you're right. Its hard not to get frustrated! The biggest question I have is what kind of a credit did the other brides get towards other pieces of their package for not using the resort photographer? We are thinking about flying our photographer in and need to know how much we will get towards the extras of our package for not using the resort photography and videography that comes with the Ultimate Wedding Package. We want to get our photographer booked the sooner the better because it saves us money in the end but I don't want to do that if I'm only going to get a $200 credit towards other services. Thanks for listening ladies!

you have to go into a category like "beauty, diet, fitness" for example, then you will see a button on the top left that says "new thread" and you can post under that category

For Dreams brides - I keep getting different answers - are outside vendors allowed? I notice the DJ's seen cheaper then the DJ's from Dreams directly and I believe they are the same companies whether you book through Dreams or on your own, either Mania or Morreix, but I belive Dreams charge a surcharge for booking them....

Does anyone know if it is OK to book these things directly?

THanks,
Tori
DJ's have to be booked direct with dreams

yep, claudia is still there, but they split up the weddings

you have to upload pics to photobucket and resize them so they're not giant, then you use the icon at the top of the posting screen that looks like a mountain, to post them. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

lindsey, for not using the resort photographer, claudia would only offer me the gazebo drapery OR an extended video. i took the extended video. i was a little upset that i couldn't get her to budge on the sound system for the ceremony or something like that instead, especially since i knew that the other WC (gaby, at that time) had offered it to other bdw brides as an exchange. i was never told any monetary amount for a "credit." you will not get the full amount of what the a la carte price would be as your exchange amount anyway, because they will tell you that you get a deal when it is part of the package.

lindsey, I had the same questions as well and Cecilia told me several times that they no longer do "credits". She is aware that other WC, like Gaby, offered certain things for exchange, but they don't anymore. She also offered me the gazebo decor or the sound system for the ceremony b/c we are planning a private welcome dinner as well (she quoted $12/person for this). Cecilia speeks english much better than she writes it so I would HIGHLY recommend getting a calling card. That is the only way I've really gotten any response. After our conversations, I email her the things I've asked for or we've discussed and I always get a response from her right away that confirms what we've discussed (that way I have it in writing).

When I spoke with Cecilia she sounded confused and said that she didn't understand how her assistant had booked her appt. to meet with me today if she had a wedding to do at 2pm. (Mind you I thought she was the one that set up the appt. over email. So I don't know if I was speaking to her or her assistant?) She had even told me specifically where to meet her at! So I was very happy Cecilia let me call her from Dreams. I asked her if she was available on Saturday (since my fiance and I had booked an excursion for Friday and Sunday) and she said she had a wedding on that day also. She asked me to call her on Sunday when I got back from my excursion and that she would meet with me at whatever time since she was free the whole day. We didn't get back from our excursion until late and frankly I didn't feel like having to go back to downtown cancun so we ended up not calling her. My fiance and I were talking and we will probably be going back to Cancun July of next year again and actually STAY at Dreams Cancun so we can see how everything flows? Anyway, we decided that we will try and meet with her again in person then. I was kind of upset that she had booked to meet with me on the same day as a wedding, but like I said she blamed it on her assistant and seemed apologetic. I'm going to try and not let this misunderstanding influence my decision on Cecilia Dumas, yet.
that's so frustrating! It's good that you're going with the flow, lets keep our fingers crossed!

This part of planning is fustrating b/c well she told me that they dont do credits. Also that if I bring an oustide photographer and not used their photgrapher I will be charged 100 dollars.... I tried to switch it for hair or makeup nothing much and she would not budge... I am honestly waiting to get over there and meeting (maybe giving a nice tip) and maybe then she will budge... smile72.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
