Need Suggestions for a new Digital Camera

I love my digital camera, FI got it for me 2 years ago, and I feel bad since it was a gift from him. But these are my 2 major complaints with the camera I have now. I am looking for suggestions from you girls.

1. My digital camera takes too long to take a photo, slow shutter speed (I know that this is the most common complaint with digital cameras but this is ridiculous)

2. It takes so long to actually take 2 pictures back to back, on the LCD screen it is black so long before it comes up again.

Someone asked this question recently & a lot of people said great things about canons. I love my canon SD600. You can click the button 1/2 way down & it focuses the picture. Then you are ready to take the picture quickly. It's great for kids & pets. I can pretty much always get the picture with my canon.

I think all the canons have this feature. It's not just my model.

ya. any of the new canon sd600-750-900 or so any in that new series are about as fast as you can get for digitals. i had a panasonic one and actually returned it for the canon (dont ask me whyyy i even thought it would be a good idea to stray away from the trusty canon. you can get one for between 150-350 depending on which model you pick up. its so worth it though and if you want you can get a sweet underwater housing for themfor about 150 bucks so you can take all sorts of REALLYYY good quality underwater photo and video of up to 150 feet below. its probably the best 150 bucks ive ever spent

I just got a new digital for the exact same reasons you mentioned. I got the Cannon Elph Powershot SD 850 IS 8.0 MP - it was $300 @ Best Buy. We had some trouble figuring it out the first night and almost returned it but it turns out we were just big dummies and after they showed us how to use it we love it. Haven't had it long (purchased on NYE) but so far so good! My last camera was also a Cannon and I really do think they take the BEST pics.

And I agree... the underwater attachments are AWESOME!!!!!
i looked into the 1000 and compared the two. i love the 750 wayyyy more. the fact that it has a 3 inch screen compared to the 2.5 or whatever of the 1000 is one of the best features. i really hate the tiny little view finder peep holes. they are worthless and you cant see crap through them. go somewhere were you can compare the two and you might change your mind about the 1000.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
