Are most people using a travel agent? It sounds like most people aren't, but I am really worried that I will forget something if I don't use one.

I definitely am and am also recommending all my guests use her, too.

I think most people are using a TA. Why does it seem like they aren't? Maybe because even with a TA, most of us are pretty involved in the plans. You should definitly use one. I always thought you paid to use a TA. Now I realize they actually can save you money. So might as well get a TA. I couldn't imagine doing this without one!

i definitley think most people are using a TA, but the reasons why might be different. i wanted to use one mainly because i didn't want to deal with people calling me all of the time to ask about flights, hotel, etc. - since i travel so much i book my own travel all the time. the last thing i wanted to do was deal with other people's travel. and it was just nice for guests to have someone to call who could hook them up.

I will use one because we have people from different places and will be hard to coordinate everybody.. as Ann mentioned it will be a pain have everyone calling you for travel arrangements or questions

Have any of you used a travel agent just for flight/shuttle arrangements? We're staying at a small hotel that doesn't work with TAs, and I'm worried that just doing flights would be a waste of a travel agent's time...

my TA has suggested not doing just flights through her. She said her price would be higher than what we could get on our own.

If your guests are booking their own flights, suggest they search with websites like orbitz, but book directly with the airline. it's usually $8-$10 cheape & you have much better support if something goes wrong.

my TA (Tammy, this host here) booked our shuttles to/from the airport as well. in some cases she told us to book our own flights where it made sense. she was also great at getting the WC of Dreams to cooperate a little easier!

Thanks. I feel a lot better because I really want this to go smoothly.

we have people flying out of all over and canada and the US so it definatley makes sense to use an agent, plus ours is a certified wedding planner also so she takes care of all the little details before i get there.
